britta We found a tick on DS1 last weekend. DH pulled it out during bath time. I saved the tick, but didn't do anything with it. The nurse at the pedi's advice line (because I panicked and called) said to keep an eye on it, but not to worry if if was on him for less than a day. So far, so good *knock on wood*
As for booze, I have 1 drink most nights. Sometimes I will have 2 drinks on a Friday or Saturday, or if it's been a long day. I have them after DS2 goes to bed. It sounds ridiculous, but the beer or wine is often the one thing that makes me feel like my adult self rather than just a mom.

Just got a call from daycare that DS2 is throwing up. Not to sound like an a-hole, but does this mean he has to stay home tomorrow too? Ugh sick babies
iwantbacon - If wondering that makes you an asshole, then we're all probably assholes because I'd be asking that, too! I hope he's feeling better soon!

What a bummer. I know our daycare has a policy that they have to be 24 hrs out from vomiting, so in our case, we'd have to keep them out tomorrow. I hope it isn't the case for you, but I guess it depends on just how sick he is.

jwinct, funerals can either bring out the best or the worst in people. I know I always expect the worst (drama) but that's usually saved for later when it comes to dividing the estate. Money always brings out the worst in people.
I'm glad your husband was able to enjoy lunch with select family members.

The 3.5 year old has started having troubles going to bed at night. This is new for us, any previous sleep related problems were always MOTN issues (once around a year old and then again just before 2). At first it was just that we'd put him in bed and then some nights we'd hear him up talking to himself. I'd find books in his bed the next morning. The last week or so he's started actually coming out of his room, usually to pee, but other nights he'll come out and be like, "Oh. Hi mom. Are you doing ok?" Dafuq? Yes son, I'm doing ok. He always goes back to bed, no problem, on his own without even being told. Tonight he's come out to pee, check on us, and now to ask for water-three times. He's currently in there wailing, "I want my dadddyy" and "I'm so thirrrssstttyy". Wtf. He's never been given anything to drink after dinner time, like ever in his life. Sofa king annoying. All I wanna do is go to bed because I've had a raging headache all day.

britta we went through the same thing around 3.5 and still struggle some nights 4 months later. It wouldn't be as bad if he didn't share a room with DD and keep her up.
Around the same time it started, he also starting dropping his nap more often at daycare. I asked his teacher if he was disruptive during nap time when he doesn't sleep and she said he lays there quietly. I told her he sings and talks for an hour at bedtime and she mentioned other parents struggle to get their three year olds to bed before 10.
All of that to say you're not alone by a long shot. But I also don't have much advice. While I'm not ready to give up his afternoon nap completely, he does seem to fall asleep faster days without a nap. Bedtime is around 8 (usually asleep by 9), up at 7.
