Morning all. DD has her 6 month appt this morning at 9:30 so I just dropped off the boys at school and am enjoying my coffee while DD has her bottle. My life is now a million times easier since she can hold it on her own. I am happy to have a few more hours this morning of just me and her. Wish I didn't have to go to work after but at least my start to the week is better.

So flippin tired. Went to bed at 1045. V woke up at 1230 coughing in a very croupy way and started crying and yelling for me. So I went up there and calmed her down and lay in the bed with her and rubbed her back. Poor kid. Think she is getting sick. She kept saying she was cold which she Never says and was shivering. No fever though.
Just when V was about to go to sleep, C started crying. It's 115 at this point. So then I feed C and by the time I get back to bed it's 2am. Next wake up from C was at 430. Then H got up at 6 to get ready for work and was showering and shaving and doing lots of loud things in the bathroom so that was when I woke up for the day.
Working a half day today and then packing up. My flight for my work trip is at 645pm. I will miss the kids and H and am not looking forward to pumping on a trip BUT it will be three nights if no middle of the night wake ups. I haven't slept all night in 6 months.
DD is back to school this week thank God. I'm a little scared for the 2 months of unstructured time in the summer.
Weather is crap right so I'm going to spend the morning starting my great purge and tackling our to do list to get ready to sell the house. We decided to go talk to the bank and a realtor asap. I'm so excited. I've been wanting to move for years and it might finally happen!
I worked last night but I'm off today. I'm taking DS to playgroup while DH stays home with DD and does chores. That's about all I have planned for today.
vavavictoria, enjoy your 3 days of peace! How long is your flight? I am planning a work trip in August for a week and based on DS's personality, I doubt he'll be ready to wean so I need to contemplate pumping while away. My flight will be cross-country and I'm hoping to get a non-stop flight to minimize time. I don't really want to pump in the airport. Anyways, good luck and I hope you enjoy your 3 days of sleep!
My in-laws were here over the weekend so all schedules went to shit. DS ended up taking a 30 minute nap 45 minutes before his usual bedtime which meant he woke up at random times. He fell asleep at 8pm and was up at 10pm, 11pm, 2:15 pm, 5:00 am and 6:00 am. Gaaaaahhhhh!
I need to work on limiting my alcohol. What amount do you all truthfully drink? Last night I had three beers. I usually have 1-2 drinks a night (over a 4 hour time span) which is either wine, hard cider, beer or spiked seltzer. I think this is contributing to my non-weight loss. I'm going to try and tighten that up to maybe 1 drink every other night and work on bringing healthier lunches.
jcrewgirl before my health anxiety started I was having 1-2 glasses of wine a night. I realized it had become just a habit, I had it whether I really wanted it or not. I'm currently just drinking on the weekends.

So I normally order a margarita at our fave Mexican place and I feed the baby right before I drink it. Well last night they gave me a large one without asking- it was like 32 ounces or something crazy. I didn't finish it but I had probably 2 margaritas worth! That was the only alcohol I had all weekend though. I used to drink beer in the evening but I've found I'd rather have a snack than a beer.

jcrewgirl my flight is 4.5 hours non stop. The flight out is in the evening which is when I have the least milk so it should be ok. Coming home will be midday so I'm more worried about that one. I'm going to keep my hand pump around for desperate times. I've pumped in an airport before but I'd rather not if I don't have to. I will probably do so before the flight home bc I have to take a shuttle to the airport and will probably be there with lots of time to spare. There is a company called milkstork that will ship or help you get your milk home. My company wouldn't pay so I'm doing things my own way but if yours would pay it's worth a shot. I will have another trip in September and probably one more before that in July or August. It's a pain to travel without baby while breastfeeding.

I've never heard of Milk Stork. I'm looking into that now. What is "your way"? I haven't even started to look at what airlines allow on a flight. Ideally, I'd love to be able to take everything back in a cooler because I will be gone for a full week.
Ugh, I had this wicked long post written, complete with tags, and then accidentally closed my browser somehow. Waaah!
vavavictoria - I hope V feels better soon. Enjoy your nights of peace while on your trip! jcrewgirl - DH and I can easily drink 2-3 glasses of wine a night, if it's in the house. We try not to do it every night, though. Alcohol Is one of the big reasons I have trouble losing weight. I just enjoy it too much.
In summary of what I had written and accidentally deleted: -I'm getting sick and feel like crap. -My house is almost done being painted and they're pretty sure they'll be able to finish today - it looks so good already! - DH accidentally used a medium flow nipple and DS didn't choke on it and is doing pretty well with them, so we switched over this weekend. He drinks his bottle soooo much faster with them and it's wonderful.
Oh, and DS is finally sitting up on his own. He's s bit wobbly, but he's getting better and better. And he finally figure out out to put cheerios and puffs in his mouth. He's been able to pick them up, but didn't really know what to do with them after he picked them up. Most of them don't actually make it into his mouth, but he's getting better at it. He ends up having puffs stuck to his butt, to his head, in his shirt, etc. LOL
And he started to army crawl this weekend. We're in so much trouble!
ksyknelvr73 good luck at the appointment! So cute fem! jcrewgirl I don't drink any alcohol ever and I'm still having trouble losing weight. It was not hard to lose it with DD1, but this time around it is jwinct so glad you are liking how the house looks! Which color Did you end up going with? It is hilarious watching DD2 with puffs or cheerios and seeing where they actually end up that is not her mouth. vavavictoria sorry for the awful night. Hope you have a nice trip! I am waiting for an appt right now. Not sure what we're doing the rest of the day, but it is nice out here too, so will prolly get outside. Dd2 slept until 545 this am which is unheard of. I gave her Motrin for the first time last night though, so now I'm all confused. Has her teeth been bothering her every night for months and months? I dunno. Can I sleep train if it's her teeth keeping her up? I dunno. But I do know if I don't Starr seeping through the night regularly soon, I am gonna lose it.
sanibel21 - We went with the Smoky Blue and I love it. I'm glad we didn't go darker because I don't know how it would have looked with our dinky little windows. I feel like it would have just drawn more attention to how small and stupid looking they are. LOL That Granite Peak color I had shown you guys wasn't as dark in real life as it was in the virtual picture, and it was kind of purple in the sunlight - no thanks! I can't wait to be able to compare the before and after pictures. Our shutters aren't due to arrive until later this week, though.
My dogs are definitely loving DS learning to feed himself because they get lots of treats from him. He has actually become very aware of them and he loves them. If they are in the room while he's eating, he gets very distracted because he is constantly leaning over in the high chair and looking around to see what they are doing, even if they're just laying on the floor, doing nothing.
DH's uncle passed away last week. It wasn't unexpected; he was a hardcore drug addict and a couple of years younger than DH and he destroyed his heart and body, and he's been on life support for a month. He has a young daughter whose mother is also a heroin addict and has lost custody of her at least twice because of ODing in the presence of her daughter. Unfortunately, drug addiction is a problem in his biological family and is to blame for his biological mother's death when he was in his early teens. It's so sad. Anyway... the funeral is today at 11am and his literally psycho aunt has been threatening all the "normal" family members to stay away from the funeral and there is a good chance she is going to cause a huge scene. This is why he keeps his distance from that party of his family - so much trashy drama. Luckily his sister realized how toxic and awful they are and she keeps her distance, too. I'm so curious to hear about how it all goes. I'm sure he'll have entertaining stories later.

So I'll let you know how all this works afterwards. There is no upper limit to how much milk you can fly with in a carry on. I'm planning on storing all my milk in freezer bags and keeping in the hotel office freezer bc I will only have a fridge in my room. I called and asked them about it earlier this week. I bought a decent size cooler bag that is collapsible for the trip out and will be carrying that on during the flight home. I have freezer packs that don't have liquid in them. I read that if your freezer packs thaw at all and are slushy TSA may make you toss them. Not the end of the world bc you can get ice from a restaurant in the terminal but would rather avoid if I can. So the plan is to have all the milk frozen other than what I am pumping that day. I'll put it all the the bag with the freezer packs and then probably top it up with ice for the flight. In my head it seems pretty simple but we will see.
My article is due by 4 pm. I'm putting the finishing touches on it but feel bad because Lil P has watched so much TV this morning. I'm going to have her turn it off soon. I'm having anxiety over if I am writing the article the right way and if the editor will like it or not.
Hello everyone! I was MIA this weekend because I was in the boonies with terrible cell coverage.
My aunt is moving to a retirement community so my parents and I helped her start sorting through her stuff. The house has been in the family for 67 years but luckily she's gone through a lot of it already over the years. It will still take her time to realize how much downsizing she really needs to do though. DS2 came with us so I didn't have to pump.
DH was able to take the other two to earth day activities and for a bike ride to DQ on Saturday and for a picnic on Sunday. DS1 told me this morning he had so much fun this weekend and asked if DS2 and I could leave for the weekend again. I'm glad he had fun with DH. DH even said he'd do it again so they must have been on their best behavior.
Thanks, ladies. I only met him once, at our wedding. DH used to be really close with him when they were kids, but not at all in their adult life. I just looked up his obituary. It's incredibly sad; only two sentences. No mention of his daughter or siblings or anything. Wow. This is literally the entire obituary:
"Thomas was born on October 31, 1978 and passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Thomas was a resident of Worcester, Massachusetts at the time of passing."

G woke up at 10:45 last night screaming. After a dose of Tylenol and a half hour of nursing, he was back to sleep. That was the second time this weekend he woke up after he went to bed to eat. I was having weird dreams, though, so I didn't sleep all that well. N was up when I got out of the shower at 6:30, and G was still asleep when I left. I'm finally caught up from being out last week. My mouth is sore from talking, but I'll deal.
MH contacted our town's department of social services, and they are going to take all of my maternity clothes. He is happy to be getting them out of the house. I am, too, but it's still a little weird to think I'm never going to wear them again. We also may have found a place to donate the old dining room set. We donated our old end tables and some other furniture to them last year; they then provide it to people getting places to live after being homeless. Hopefully they will take the set so it's out of out basement.
Work is...I feel like I shouldn't even say it or write it, but it's slow. I had 3 patients to see. Notes are done, just waiting for my doc to get out of OR. This is such a welcome change after the last couple weeks where I had 7+ patients to see and lots of consults.
Anyway, DS1's tick bite is just red this morning. Hopefully nothing comes of it, but DH is nervous. We'll watch it and see I guess.
jcrewgirl I drink a beer or two about every other night. I'm pretty sure that's contributing to my plateau as well....but it's beer drinking weather! Honestly, as someone else mentioned, it's more habit. And peer pressure because H drinks every night. I should just cut it out because I don't care that much.

ksyknelvr73 , that sounds like a great way to start your morning. fem , I love the first thing in the morning smiles. vavavictoria , I hope the trip goes smoothly for you. Enjoy the uninterrupted sleep! hikingmama222 , it's definitely nice to get back into a routine. Good luck with the banker and realtor! @snuff9861 , I'm glad the transition back to work is going well. jcrewgirl , sorry about the awful night. I don't drink much, but when I do, it's only one drink. jwinct , I hope you're not getting sick! Can't wait to see how the house looks with the new paint. I'm sorry for your loss, too. @kitchen , I hope you feel better soon. Coughs are the worst. sanibel21 , I struggle with the debate over teeth v. hunger v. just being awake almost every day with G. I hope you're able to get some rest soon. penguin129 , good luck with the article. You have to do what you have to do to get stuff done, even if it means the littles getting more screen time than they should. erien22846 , that is adorable. It sounds like they all had a lot of fun.
britta, I hope the tick bite is nothing. That is so scary though. We found a tick on N when he was almost 2, and it sent me into a panic spiral. It turned out to be nothing, but it was still scary for me.
smallpotato was he actually bit? I had to pull it out. I think I got it all, DH doubled checked because I was afraid the head broke off, but we think I got it all.
DH just texted me and said there was no drama at the funeral, and a he and a few of his sane family members were going out to lunch to catch up. I'm glad there was no drama, but I'll admit I was kind of looking forward to some stories. I'm awful, I know.

I honestly don't remember if he got bit. MH removed it from him, and then I warned my cousins and my sister to check their kids (especially my sister, because my nephew was only a few months old). I do remember going to buy tweezers the next day (this happened on July 4th) to have in the house in case it happened again.
