I can't believe how fast March and April have flown by. Happy Monday everyone. I'm back to work today.
FFMC: I'm printing an absurd amount of paper for my classes this morning. It's 100% necessary, but I still feel bad, so I split the print job between both copiers and I carried half the stack down to my room separately so nobody sees me carrying 1000 pages.

When I was in school (public, so I'm sure it makes a difference), there was a limit on how much the copier could be used because of budgetary reasons, so we had to hand write a lot of what we would have typically been given handouts for. It sucked. Thankfully a lot of teachers found workarounds... thinking about it now, they may have been making copies elsewhere 😞.
We do tons of stuff digitally so compared to what it was like when we were in school, I'm probably still saving a ton of paper each year. But the AP College Board provides materials that are not allowed to be distributed digitally, so I have no choice. It was a 23 page practice exam, and I needed 37 copies. It just feels wrong because we hardly ever do things on paper anymore.

Yeah, in my 5 years here I've never given the instruction "take out a sheet of notebook paper." And that was like 10 times a day when I was in HS. I'm sure I'm doing way less damage than most teachers.
I didn't even think about that part of being PG with twins. I remember feeling like my skin couldn't stretch any further, which was probably due to the extra fluid.
W and Z were both up late last night after the birthday party. Now I'm tired and they're tired and I have a third kiddo today. Any other day would have been fun to have an extra LO, but today I'm ready for the big kids' nap.

becole , mom2boxers, vlagroupie and anyone in the market for a convertible seat, do you have a convertible seats for your #2 yet? If not, now may be a good time to pull the trigger. Target has the trade in event going on now and 10% off chicco seats (inlcuding zip) online through 4/29. The 20% trade-in coupon and online discount would bring nextfit zip down to $244 (saving over $100) before tax and the nextfit to $209.

Trying to restrain myself from buying the zip because we do not need anymore car seats, but the zip would be so nice! I did find out the zip cover can be purchase separately and fits all NextFits, but it's $80 + $10 shipping
So at this luncheon and my alma mater lacks serious diversity and my mentee refused to skip her class slightly annoyed lol ok off box back to smiling.
I don't know that I would knock her for not wanting to skip class. It just shows that she's committed to her education and won't succumb to peer pressure from her mentor lol

I was thinking of buying a FF booster for DS1 and giving the next fits to DS2. I think that would be the cheapest. But I haven't researched boosters- I hate how complicated they make all this these days.

How much does C weigh? Here's my observation about harness boosters. The seat that are under $100 typically have a pretty low weight limit max for the 5pt harness , like 50lb or less. Then the midgrade seats ($100-150) tend to go up to around 65lbs, and the premium seats $200+ seem to support the harness up to 90lbs. You'll probably want him in a 5pt harness until 5-6yo so consider his weight now and how much he might weigh in 2 or 3 years.

I'm definitely getting the highest weight and height limit I can for the price. A girl on mybmb was discussing a few graco options that are reasonable. I definitely want him in a 5 point harness. He's 35ish lbs and 38ish inches at almost 3. So he's maxed out on RF on the nextfit and would max on FF on the next fit at 65lbs and 49". He probably could make it a while in the nextfit FF but G is 17 lbs and will be out of his infant seat my guess is in the next 3 months. My thought was to spend $200 on one that goes to 90lbs and he can use until he can be in a regular booster and give the little his next fit. Should I not do that?

RF can go up to 40 lbs RF on the NextFit - you just have to use seatbelt install instead of Latch.

That's my plan when we have #2. I'll probably get a Britax Pioneer clicktight I'm thinking.

If I got #2 another nextfit, then in a few years I would still have to buy DS1 a HBB right? So if that purchase is going to happen anyway, might as well buy it now since he's FF, and save from buying another convertible. I really don't car seat well. I don't read very much about it all. I just want someone to tell me what to buy. I'll have to check out the britax.
becole exactly. And Chicco doesn't make a FF to booster option. Their booster doesn't have a harness and that's not a good option until they're about 6yo. I lied though, pioneer doesn't come with a click tight version, so install is a little trickier. The frontier is about $100 more, but had the click tight feature. I do love my Graco seats. Check out the Nautilus - traditional seatbelt install, but I don't have too much trouble with the Gracos. Tranzitions and Wayz are also Graco. Not 100% sure on all the differences, but the T and W are cheaper. I like that Graco is machine washable like Chicco. Britax is not.

I for sure need machine washable. I don't even care as much about price as picking the seat that means he's safe and it will be easy for me to install/ wash the pad/ get a good fit and tight. Both our cars are suvs and I don't plan on needing 3 across or anything so size doesn't matter. I just need something for a big kid- and I want him in that 5 point harness.

Nope totally get it -- but her mentor got her seats at a table with three CFOs and one SVP education is great but getting that internship and job is just as important. Thankfully she came 10 minutes early and I was able to prep her.
Let me ask my tech friends if they can think of any other options becole. I always forget that Britax doesn't allow machine washing, which is super annoying.

I asked the car seat guru on my board too. She likes a few of the Gracos based on price but her girls are small so she doesn't have to worry about them reaching 65 lbs or anything.
