iwantbacon, so glad it sounds like the little guy is feeling better. Fingers crossed he stays well today.
@holachica, soooo jealous of Hamilton! N and I listen to the soundtrack all the time together, and I am hoping to see it in 2018 or 2019 when it comes to New England. Sounds like you had a great weekend overall.
I overdid it with regular food yesterday, and my mouth hurt a ton when I went to bed. Pair that with yet another cracked nipple, and last night was rough. G was crying out in his sleep last night around midnight, and MH's alarm went off at 5 for work. N climbed in bed with me after that, and I didn't realize it until I felt someone hovering over me. He then proceeded to fall asleep for another 45 minutes. I barely managed to get us out the door and to work and day care on time. Tonight we'll get Moe's for dinner and then relax at home. It's supposed to rain for the next three days, so no outside time. N is going to be a bear by the end of the week.
smallpotato So sorry you anticipate some bad days ahead. FX'd it goes well.
Having a hard time staying awake today. DS is doing a little better at sleeping, but my body still wakes me up as though I heard baby. Who knows, maybe I did, but I can't fall back asleep. Caffeine is not helping.
macaronmama and iwantbacon, I wonder if I can walk from Rosslyn and back in an hour during lunch to try that place out...although it goes against the Healthy Living thread I started yesterday. If I'm walking there, that kind of cancels it out, right??

Macarons are made with almond flour, so they count as a health food. >.> <.<

You guys, DS2 has had the most shit-tastic few days. He has being throwing absolutely epic tantrums, he's been in trouble at daycare both last Friday and yesterday when we come to pick him up (like he is sitting up front with the director b/c he's been removed from his class), his favorite things to say are "leave me alone" and "NO" so that's going well. I don't think anything is actually wrong, I think he is being a typical almost 3 year old and he did move up to a new room last week...so maybe that too? I'm at a loss though and his behavior has me at my wit's end with him.
Okay well now that I got that out...nothing else to report. Just work as usual and trying not to fall asleep at my desk.

ksyknelvr73 - I'm so sorry; that's crappy for sure! I'll bet the move to the different room is to blame, and hopefully things will improve as he gets used to it. I know a lot of kids have a tough time with room transitions like that, and it usually takes a couple of weeks to adjust. Good luck!
ksyknelvr73 sorry about the struggles. I was just coming to post about my 3.5 yo's epic whining lately. Lord Jesus take the wheel. In regards to your situation though, I'd guess a mix of normal and transitioning at daycare. DS1 does the same thing when he transitions. Good luck.
smallpotato yuk. I hope your mouth gets to feeling better. Recovering from my wisdom teeth, pain wise, was worse than my gallbladder surgery and c-sections, IMO.
So yeah. As mentioned above the whining is out of control at our house. I literally don't think DS1 can speak unless it's a whine. JTTW. He does listen though, so I guess that's good? I'd rather have an obedient whiner than a non-whiner but disobedient kid. Maybe?
I'm at work. Slow day again, and again not complaining. Or trying not to anyway. It's so beautiful out, it's hard. Especially considering H is done for the day. Le sigh. I guess salaried position FTW in this case. I'm over her plugging away because I'd rather stay than get docked PTO. I'm off tomorrow...hoping the rain holds off. 60% chance they say.

Just keep talking about feelings. My big is having trouble with drop off the last few weeks- crying again but happy the rest of the day. I think it's anxiety. As soon as H mentioned he was going to school he asked for his lamby. I don't think he understands that he's anxious to leave us but he knows he likes school. It's confusing.

How about a disobedient whiner? That's what I have these days. That may be an exaggeration, but the whining is awful. Last night, MH took N outside. N had been watching trains on YouTube on the TV, so MH turned it off when they went out. I put on Jeopardy, and N threw a fit. Apparently he wanted MH to lift him up so he could watch the train video through the front windows. Then he came in and whined about changing the channel. He eventually calmed down, but my goodness.

It's snowing, in April. Welcome to Alberta. We just got back from the park. DD loves playing in the snow.
Spent some time this morning putting together all our paperwork for our mortgage broker. Eeek. I'm so excited by this whole process. Started doing some major decluttering to stage the house as well.
ksyknelvr73, yes, I hear you sister. The struggle is so fucking real. DD tells me "I'm not your best friend", "Leave me alone", and "Don't talk to me" - the most annoying thing by far is constantly saying "Mama", "Maaaaamaaaaa" in a whiny voice over and over again and when I say "what" she ignores me and keeps saying my name.

britta and jcrewgirl the whining can be absolutely infuriating, so I feel you. My oldest went through a whining phase too, I think it was around 4 years old. He never went through the holy terror and tantrum hell phase though, so I felt like we got lucky. Now he's in the smart ass phase and just general ignoring me (he's 6, and I think going to real school broke him). I can't even believe the attitude he can give me sometimes b/c it seems like he is too young for that crap, but no. But like 95% of the time, he's so sweet and very well-behaved, and generally always has been. DS2 is just hell on wheels. I am literally scared for each new phase/age. He's like the opposite, 95% of the time a crazy person and 5% sweet.
Omg you all don't know how much your toddler stories are helping me feel more normal. I legit feel like I'm raising a psychopath some days. Taking a quick break between bedtimes to check in here. Dd1 had preschool and I got so much accomplished that I'm feeling pretty decent. I wasn't feeling great last week and it didn't dawn on me until today that no preschool last week because of school vacation contributed to it. It was rainy here so just survived the afternoon at home. Tomorrow is dd2s 6 month check up. I'm gonna return some formula and buy different formula and some bottles on the way. If anyone has a constipated baby, we've had some improvement with Enfamil reguline. Therapy tomorrow evening and I was thinking of staying out and maybe seeing a friend and letting dh do double bedtime. I never snuck away this past weekend so I'm due. We'll see.

I'm hanging out in the hotel for a bit before joining my work crew for dinner and drinks. Looking forward to socializing but so tired! By the time I got to my room, pumped, and went to bed last night it was midnight here and 2am at home. Then up for the day at 6. I'm hopeful we will get back relatively early tonight so I can go straight to bed.

Well, DS2 had another shitty day. He had his second PT accident this week...he hasn't had accidents in well over a month. His teacher also said he drank toilet water and I am very much WTF to this because why the hell was he unsupervised in the bathroom? Am I crazy for being pissed?

I would ask the director if that is something that needs reported to the state because that is something that should never happen and with certain things they are obligated to report it. At least if you mention it, the director will make sure it never happens again. Did he have a cup? How did he get it out of the bowl? Also. I'm so sorry. I would be disgusted and livid.

<--- this all the way, wth??
Not to my knowledge. DH is the one who picked him up today and he definitely did not get enough info nor did he handle it (he said no directors were there). I intend to address it with them first thing tomorrow.

Ya'll are making me terrified of having a toddler. Especially because DH has no other experience with children so I'm not sure how well he is going to handle the tantrums and disobedience.
vavavictoria Enjoy your sleep! Hope you get a lot of great rest.
ksyknelvr73 yes. That's DS1 all the way. He's such a good boy, very smart and polite, especially to others. But at home the whine is just too much sometimes. I told him just tonight, "OMG L. All you have to say is, 'Hey mom, I'm stuck. Can you help me?'" It doesn't have to be (wailing) "I can't dooo itttttt. Mooooooommmmmm." JAYSUS.
Sorry about your DS. That's disgusting. Re: unsupervised toilet time: How old is he? When DS1 transitioned to his current room, toilet time was no longer supervised. He's 3.5. In fact, I think in his previous room, if the kid was PT and able to use the toilet unassisted, they went by themselves. There's no door on the bathroom though, so there's that. Less disgusting, but DS1 also had a toilet incident recently...he and a friend were throwing soap and paper towels in the toilet after lunch. 😳 Dafuq son?

I think the best thing you can do is play dates with other kids the same age where the Hs come along too. It is sooo important for there to be that comparison. To me, it puts it so much more in perspective to be able to ignore the behavior if I know that it's age appropriate and normal rather than "zomg demon monkey spawn what is wrong with you!?!"

britta he turns 3 next month. He is still fairly recently PT but he moved into this new room last week and apparently they aren't supervised in the bathroom....I GUESS?
