I got some cloth diapers from a friend. They are mostly BumGenius pocket diapers. Except for one, they are missing the insert thing. Does anyone know if I can use any brand inserts? There's huge difference in price. I also got 3 covers so I'll buy some prefolds. I don't know why I'm taking on more laundry but I'm pretty excited to try it out.

For some reason I love cloth diapering. I'm excited to finally get C in cloth regularly (we've been trying to use up her disposables since we have them and she is growing so fast). I recommend green mountain diapers prefolds (sorry for the unsolicited advice... lol). You should be able to stuff the pocket diapers with any kind of insert.
I may have some pockets I'm going to sell, if you're ever interested in picking up more. I even have the liners
**skip through row of stars if you're having sleep trouble** All four kid STTN three nights in a row and babies are in rockers in their room! I only haven't put them in cribs because they're congested. I don't know if it's something we do or we're just lucky, but I'll take it. ***********************************
M is spitting up more. I might put her back on partial rice starch formula, but she also has gassiness issues sometimes so I'm concerned the rice starch will make that worse or give her constipation.

Aside from her fighting me tooth and nail to go to sleep, and then the exorcist style spitting up incident at 3:00, she only woke up twice.... so I guess that's ok? She didn't fall asleep until 10:30, though. Mama was tired. I also ended up on the couch at 3:30, since I was wide awake after the spit up and changing my clothes, and H was sawing logs. Ugh. He wasn't even on his back! I think our family losing some weight would help his snoring problems.
We are having a low key day today. I need to shower and fold some laundry. I think it's supposed to be nice later, though it's pretty dreary right now. Hopefully we can get some outside time in.

To add to this, I've stuffed my pocket diapers with prefolds, flats, microfiber inserts, and hemp inserts. They all work fine so far, but I think I like the cotton ones best. They squish better than the pad-shaped inserts so it seems more comfortable for the kids. The prefolds and flats are Osocozy, the microfiber came with the diapers, and the hemp is Thirsties because that was least expensive on Nicki's Diapers' website.
shawnabm1320 Why do you recommend Green Mountain in particular?

Sorry I've been MIA lately. This has been my first week back at work full time, and it's been an adjustment. Overall, things are going well. I'm just busy getting caught up/piled on with new things at work, and then trying to treasure the precious, little time I get with Z at home.
She seems to be adjusting well to daycare. I don't think she slept at all her first day there, too busy checking out the new place. She's been sleeping pretty well (consistently giving us 8-9 hour stretches until 5 or 6am the last few days. We still haven't transitioned her out of her RnP, even though the vibrating motor totally crapped out on us a few days ago. I figure why mess with what's working until we have to.
As a total newb I didn't realize daycare would use an app (seems like common practice) so I know when my kid is sleeping, eating, pooping...it seems a little stalkerish, but is definitely nice peace of mind.
I was able to successfully drop down to only 4 pumps a days without impacting my output (EPer here), which has been awesome. So I pump when I first wakeup, once during the day at work, on my drive home, and then right before bed. It's not too bad so hopefully I can keep it up for the next several months.
I think that's pretty much it for me. I miss my girl horribly all day, but I try to keep telling myself that this just makes me appreciate the time I do have with her that much more.

R slept great last night. The first stretch was 9-3:15 and then back down around 3:45 and tried to fuss around 6 but I brought him to bed with me and he slept until 9. I actually got up at 7:45 to help DH get C ready and out the door. So I ended up with almost an hour to myself, I got a bunch done. It was a great start to the day.
Hoping to finish my clothes purging/organizing project today and drop off clothes to be donated. Also hoping to get a work out in and The dog has a vet appointment this afternoon.

Do they seem OK? I heard really good things about Osocozy prefolds but as far as I could tell they are sized with a cutoff at 15 pounds. I want something that will last a while since I'll be using them along with disposables.

T was up every two hours overnight. What is wrong with you child. He hasn't done this since he was less than a month old. Growth spurt? IDK.
I wanna go buy a wrap for my cousin but she hasn't answered me to tell me what kind she wants. I'm thinking of getting a Mei Tai for me. Anyone have one?

notagoddess, I'm sure they'll be fine. The GMD are just pretty well rated; they hold in a great amount of poop and pee! They are sized, though. I'm curious to know how those prefolds work out for you. I have a hard time picturing a diaper that can make it from newborn to toddler!
Back home from my work trip! DH survived and both kids are alive lol. The house on the other hand... total tornado. I went into the office for work today because I knew if I worked from home I'd just spend the whole day picking up the mess and doing dishes and laundry.

We thought DS was having an allergy attack - runny nose, pink eyes, coughing. Now he's slightly feverish and super grumpy. I'm thinking a cold 😫 Which means the baby is going to get it. Because he's currently attached to me. And snorting all over me. Maybe the baby already has it? Maybe that's why she's been extra cranky? I guess only time will tell.
notagoddess Sure, try them out. I think the type of diaper is less important for pocket diapers because all you need is something absorbent (although different types of fabric have different absorbency characteristics). I couldn't use the Osocozy prefolds as anything other than pocket stuffing or pad folded in a cover because they'd never fit around my toddlers.
shawnabm1320 Depends on the size of newborn ;-). Certainly there is no single diaper that would fit my 6-pound newborns *and* my 28-pound toddler.

shawnabm1320 and nomnom, I honestly didn't do much research and I don't know yet how to put a prefolds into a cover. So I didn't think much of how sizing would work. The way my friend did it was just rolling up the prefolds like a pad and putting on the diaper cover on top, so precise sizing didn't seem necessary. The covers have snaps to adjust. But now I'm thinking the plastic might not be comfortable against baby's skin. I can't imagine doing the complicated folds on a wriggling baby though. Maybe I'm more of a pocket diaper person (aka lazy...)
I took L for his weight check this morning. He went from 50th at birth and one week, to 35th at 1 month, to 20th at 2 months, to 5-10th percentile today. I've been having the feeling he wasn't eating as much as he should and he's very fussy at the breast but the doctor wasn't concerned. Well, at least not until today. I'm so glad I insisted on this appointment or we would have missed it. They are having me EP until Monday so we can measure his intake and weight gain (if any) and they called in a reflux RX for him. Not the news I wanted to hear, but this will be good "bottle boot camp" for us since I go back to working at my office next Friday.
I really should have had DH get the water table out.
I asked dh to get ours out last night...he proceeded to forget. It was in a Shed in the back yard. It was a sight to see me dragging the table, pushing DS in the stroller and rounding up DD who was following us. Major side eye to DH at that moment. 😒

I braved Target, Kohls, and Old Navy with the toddler and baby today. The toddler had many meltdowns because of things I wouldn't let him do (run away, run the cart into things, step on his brother in the dressing room, throw clothes off the racks), but I just kept trucking. Now he's locked in his room for quiet time/hopefully nap.

EmMilAlly, sorry about LO's weight gain. I hope the rx helps!
wildflower810, kudos to you! I still haven't gotten up the courage to go ONE place with both kids, let alone three! I was going to go tomorrow, but if F has a cold we will not be attempting to go anywhere.

shawnabm1320, oh, we get out of the house and go places nearly every day. I've discovered it's really not much harder than with just the toddler. The baby gets worn, and I can't forget my boobs, so throw a few baby diapers in the bag and you're good to go!
Getting out of the damn house every damn day is basically my religion. We didn't leave today but did play outside, and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was.

Hi, this a pnr as I have been on the phone multiple times with the insurance company as to why my lac. Consultant was not covered. Found out it was billed under my son, not me. I am a conference call now with the pedi office and insurance getting it straightened out.

littleredfish - I just caught up from yesterday and I am so sorry that DS needs surgery. Continued thoughts and prayers for all of you. Have you been able to talk to DH yet?
