That I got a little extra sleep, even if it was a bit broken up by a 5am check in with A. I needed to catch up on sleep, so yay for being able to fall back asleep until after 7

DH and I are embarking on a romantic mini getaway this weekend! Also making a stop to check out a kitchen island from craigslist. Because that's my kind of romance.
My in laws offered to take ALL FOUR BOYS overnight so that C and I could go out for dinner. I also have a luxurious slow stroll through Lowes planned while we are childfree.
I am grateful for the extra long stretch of sleep that C gave me last night. In spite of a few "wake up and whimpers" before I went to bed, she didn't actually wake up until 4 am! And then went back to sleep until 6:15! It felt so good.
I am thankful that dd is moving out in a couple weeks.
I'm thankful that she does her own laundry and I'm thankful that she will dry laundry I have left in the washer when she goes to wash her laundry. I'm still irritated that I have to share my washer and dryer though and I'll do my best to focus on the thankful parts.
I'm thankful for our new house and SO much more room, plus 3 happy, healthy little girls that have learned how to entertain themselves for a few minutes at a time so I can pee by myself.

I'm thankful for having family so close by. Sometimes as a SAHM I just need adult interaction and I know I'm always welcome to just show up. It was my rescue this week.
I'm thankful for MH and how hard he works. He's been working 60-70 hrs a week already this season and I know it wears on him physically.
I am thankful for electronics. J has this little puzzle learning game that he has been playing with when he gets up (between 6 & 7am) for about 45 minutes. That extra rest for me is amazing. He doesn't even call my name, just gets up and grabs his water and game and chills out in his chair in his room. It's like cartoons, but way better.

I am thankful for a beautiful sunny forecast for the weekend, and a healthy family. I am thankful that my job is flexible and I can probably leave early today and no one will notice.
My musical hero is doing a concert here this weekend. I've been a huge fan since I was a kid. Just for kicks I emailed him to ask if he would give me a private lesson while he's here, and to my shock, he said yes! So tomorrow I'm having a lesson with my musical hero, and to the best of my knowledge the only jazz oboist in the world. This is so surreal.

Late to the party again but I'm thankful for a moms' spa night out last night. Hot tub. Yummy food. Meeting new moms and getting to know others better while we ate and then gave ourselves pedis or did face masks.

I'm thankful for my MIL. I don't know how she does it, but she's so incredibly awesome with my kids. I would be the hugest mess if I didn't have her to take my kids when I need some time to myself. When C was in daycare and sick all of the time and I'd exhausted all of my leave at work, she stepped up and used her time off to stay with her. When E was born she kept my other kids the whole 2 weeks that E was in the NICU so that I could focus on taking care of E and myself. She and her SO came every weekend for two years to help us remodel our house. She is awesome!

So awesome! Can't wait to hear about it
It was amazing! He was so nice and I learned so much. He pushed me way out of my comfort zone, musically, which was exactly what I needed. And I got to improvise duets with someone I've been listening to since I was a teenager. It was even better than I hoped it would be.
