I forgot to tell you guys yesterday! I was shopping with DD1 yesterday and she yelled 'Mommy I got it!' and handed me something. It was a snot covered ponytail holder. That thing was in her nose for 4 days! I'm glad it found its way out, poor girl.

Lol. Aren't you glad I started your Monday off with that?
This weekend was interesting. We all got dressed to go get some errands done on Saturday and a flash flood filled our basement with a few inches of water (it's partially finished.) Only a small section of carpet was ruined. It was good timing because H was down there when it happened so he picked stuff up and was throwing it as the water came in. We've been running a dehumidifier and threw away the carpet. What stinks is that he had taken apart our sink for a clog and we were going to get another part when that happened. So between him working on the sink and cleaning up the mess, I was on kid duty both days with no break. We did have a birthday party that we took the kids too but again I had to go hand H the baby since I was chasing DS. I have to remind him - if you don't have a child with you, that means I have two. Which he knows is unacceptable because I'm bitchy. Lol. Maybe if I say it 40 more times, he'll start coming and looking for one of the kids.
When I took the girls to the ice cream shop yesterday I ended up telling her I write for the paper now. She asked me if I could do an article for her because she didn't like the one that was written before. So I have one more assignment to do
I have two stories I'm working on and an interview to do today. I am also calling the office as soon as I'm done eating to see if I can get seen and switch medicines to Zoloft.
fem - That is disgusting, but I'm glad it came out! LOL
becole - That sucks about your basement. Glad everything wasn't ruined, though!
DS is back to being congested snot faucet. His last day of antibiotic (round 2) was Saturday morning and yesterday it started back up and of course he slept like crap last night. I am so freaking tired and I need coffee, but I just had dental work done and I can't drink anything without it falling out of my mouth.
penguin129 I hope they can get you in quick and the Zoloft helps. I'm really happy with it.
Taking at least the toddler to daycare in a bit. I get my stitches out and follow up with my OB about how the Zoloft is going.
I think I also need to take our dog in to the vet. He's not eating or drinking, is shaking and slinking around with his tail between his legs. I was hoping he'd be better today because I love our vet but they're expensive.
fem Did you have any side effects when starting it? I'm so worried about starting a new medicine and reviews really seem to be split on Zoloft.
I had one day when I upped my dosage that I was super nauseous. Also at times I was dizzy and felt a little apathetic, but it was hard for me to tell what was meds and what was sleep deprivation though. Nothing too awful. 3 weeks in all that's gone and I feel like myself again.
fem, I can't believe it finally came out. I hope your dog is okay. becole, that sucks about the basement. penguin129, that's awesome about the articles! To answer your question from the weekend with Zoloft, it took me about a week to feel a definite difference after I started taking it and after upping my dose. I hope it will work for you. jwinct, poor little guy. I hope he feels better soon. Not being able to eat and drink the stuff you like after dental work is the worst. I hope you can have your coffee soon.
Saturday was my friend's daughter's birthday party. The boys had a great time, but slept in the car both ways. G woke up about a half hour from home and cried the rest of the way. Then neither one wanted to go to sleep. It was after 10 by the time I got them both down, and I then had to eat. I was so happy to see MH yesterday when he got home from work. Today should be pretty quiet. N is at school, and MH is home with G. Nothing else exciting going on.
Work called me at 730 to come in for days. Managed to get there by 815, and had to switch half of my assignment because they gave me 3 cytotoxic patients. It's been insanity. Didn't do much this weekend, I haven't been sleeping great so I don't have the energy to do much.

Everyone was up early this morning since DD went to bed at 615 after her afternoon swimmimg. She's been a huge help this morning though and we've gotten a lot accomplished. Heading out soon for a walk to the park with my mom and sister.
DD had preschool this afternoon then dance. I'll go for a run after I drop her off.
We all seem to do much better when we have a plan for the day and we stay busy.

So...my Monday started off absolutely wonderfully - I got offered the job I put in for! It's a HUGE relief, and a very nice pay bump. I'm so, so happy. Last week was awful and I had started to wonder if anything was going to pull through, but it did!

It's been an uneventful Monday so far. I'm off, but it's certainly not feeling like a day "off." I had a huge list of things I wanted to accomplish and so far I've completed one. One thing.
The baby slept like crap last night. Up so many times. He's been doing this on the weekend-waking up either way earlier than normal (say, 4 or 5 instead of 6-6:30) and/or waking at least once during the night. He goes back down without issue. But it's getting old AF. I cherish that extra hour or so of sleep on the weekends. I'm not sure if it's because he gets more sleep during the day here at home or if it's because he eats less (because more sleep), or if it's neither of those things and just because he has a cold right now and the last few weekends were flukes. Anyway...
I went to Sam's after dropping the kids off. Got home and decided to take the dog for a walk since everyone's been cooped in because of the rain. I forgot to take my phone and when I got back there were 2 texts from my sister, "Are you at work?" and then "I'm going to the ED." Wtf. So I called her-turns out she spilled a brand new cup of coffee on herself and had pretty bad burns. I met her at the ED-she's got 1st degree burns on her upper thighs and upper right hip and a partial thickness 2nd degree burn on her pubic bone. It's looks awful. They have he some pain meds and some cream and dressing supplies and let her go home to follow up with the burn clinic as an outpatient. She's ok, but it's painful.
I'm back at home now and have zero motivation left. We have a nurse meeting at 4:30 that I'm NOT going all the way back to the hospital for, so I'll have to call the conference line. The literal worst time of day to be at home and have to call into a meeting. Oh well. Still better than driving all the way back up there on my day off.

You guiseeee....I had the most interesting Saturday morning.
DD was invited to two birthday parties. The first begat at 9:30 am and was at the kid's house. It was fun - DD had a great time and DH and I even enjoyed ourselves (as much as you can at one of those events). The second birthday party begat at 11:00 am. It was for an old classmate of DD's from her previous school. The mom and I keep in contact and have planned play dates for the girls. This birthday party was at the grandmother's house. You guise. This house was MASSIVE. My in-laws were watching DS so it was DH, myself and DD. I knocked on the massive front door and a (& I mean this is no disrespect because I have many gay friends/family members) flaming gay man opened the door dressed in a white suite with a pink bow tie and pink shoes saying "HELLLLOOOOO. Welcome to ____'s birthday party. I'm your cruise director". Behind him is a 12 foot arch of black, white, and pink balloons with Minnie Mouse balloons everywhere. A 12 foot table housed SO MANY gifts. The "cruise director" leads us to the kitchen where there is a very large spread of food to include pizza, fried chicken, man n cheese, biscuits, fruit salad, and veggie tray. The cruise director then sees my husband pouring himself some strawberry lemonade and informs him that he'll help him with his drink by pouring at least 5 shots worth of Grey Goose. DH hands it to me and I'm like "Okay. This is happening - it's 11:45 am and vodka it is!" Did I mention that had hired "help" in the kitchen to assist us with obtaining food?!
They had all top-shelf liquor for all kinds of mixed drinks, beer, wine, champagne, and drinks and snacks for the kids. A huge art section was set up for the kids to paint with smocks. The cake was ridiculous. The party favor bags easily cost $15/bag and there must have been 20 kids there. It was like living in an alternate universe for 1.5 hours. Anyways, you know I left the party buzzed.
The rest of the weekend was chill. DH and I went out for dinner on Saturday night and went our for brunch on Sunday (thanks in-laws!) and got ready for the week.
Working this week and looking forward to Friday when my brother and sister in law come into town with my niece.
