Maybe I can get motivated enough to put away dishes and laundry.
yesterday Dh did all the dishes and sent me to the grocery by myself to get Dr Pepper and Starbucks (and the other grocery items...but let's be honest, those are the most important). This baby craves Dr Pepper. I don't understand it; I've always enjoyed it, but never wanted it more than something else. Now?? I'm all about the Dr Pepper.
I'm smelling EVERYTHING today. I think half of the scents are made up. Mens cologne, there are only 2 men in our office and they're not even in yet. Pickles. No one has had or has opened pickles. Both are so strong they're overcoming me
I listened to the Doors for the first time in a while this morning. It was amazing. I love them so much. I may or may not have floated the name "Morrison" around to my husband
I'm home today with DS since daycare is closed. A zoo trip was planned but its 40* and windy, so we're staying home. I want to see the sun, it literally rained all weekend. I need it to be warm and sunny like it is supposed to be in May.
I'm at my doctor's appointment. Heard the heartbeat and feeling relief, I was super anxious over the weekend. Had to do the glucose test so now I'm just waiting for bloodwork.

Hi all. It's definitely Monday and my motivation for work is out the window. Negative of the week: more travel for work tomorrow through Thursday. Positive of the week: our anatomy scan is Friday! So, basically this entire week is useless for me until Friday.

you are always traveling! Is that normal for your job? I forget, what do you do for work?

I work in HR at a university. No, this is not normal and it won't last long, thank goodness. We are transitioning to a new HRIS software, which means a lot of data reconciliation plus testing the new system. I just have a few more weeks and no more travel for me!
Dinner is in the crock pot and laundry is getting done. I have to go do a secret shop in a while but for now I'm just taking it easy. It's hot as balls out so I'm trying to avoid going outside at all cost.

We took DS to his pediatrician today to talk about behavior issues at school. She literally said it was NDB and she didn't see the need to see any kind of specialists. She said potentially those behaviors if they continue could end up being ADHD but it's way too early to diagnose that and most kids and this age will grow out of those behaviors.
DS's teacher was not amused with the result. I wonder if she thinks he's ADHD and her job would be easier if he was medicated? Well too bad, sister! I seriously don't like his teacher. He gets a new one in August, if we don't find a new school sooner. It's tough because he's only 3.5 and there are few all-day preschools. And because he was born in November, he can't even start pre-k until fall of next year (2018).

Cythe, I'm in NC and here they do it early (18-19 weeks) because the state doesn't allow terminations after 20 weeks. Maybe other states are the same? Not that you couldn't just go to another state if you needed to.

That's interesting, I never thought of it that way! I have no idea what Virginia's laws about late term are. Huh, thanks ladies!

you may be able to get in prek early if you find the right one. My birthday is late October. I had to be tested and evaluated to start kindergarten at 4, with the full knowledge that I may have to repeat if I wasn't successful, but they let me in at 4 turning 5. So maybe a k4 would be willing to do the same if you find a good one.
Morning. I'm having mom guilt over the amount of screen time DD has been getting lately, but I feel blah and energy levels are low today.
We're going to visit my dad today. DD keeps walking around saying "Papa! Cookies!" She's figured out Papa's house is where the cookies are at.
I have a FFMC. I don't get what the big deal is about screen time honestly. I let DD play on my phone and iPad and I think it's awesome she is learning cool hand eye coordination tricks plus the basic info that the games are teaching her (colors, shapes, letters, numbers.) And while TV is less "interactive" I think as long as the programming is somewhat educational, they are learning something there too? Plus isn't it good to hear people on TV talking when you are developing language skills?
DS learns about half his new words from sesame street and Daniel tiger.

I'm feeling really discouraged right now. We spent Wednesday through Saturday in Washington house hunting, and the market is really insane right now. We looked at 21 houses, and of those, liked 4. Of those 4, one needs new windows before we can consider it, one is a short sale on the verge of foreclosure, so would take months, one accepted an offer before we got to the realtors office, and one we put an offer in at 3000 over the asking price plus offering them extra days of possession after closing. We have been blown out of the water with offers 10000 above our offer. I'm not feeling optimistic about getting a home anytime soon.

trinitrotoluene, Yikes you must live somewhere were the market is really hot! That's a good thing if you're selling, not a good thing if you're buying for the first time. We are thinking about selling and the market is shit. It's taking years (no exaggeration) for houses to sell here at any price. Some friend of ours are buying up houses like hot cakes to turn them into rent houses and they are making more in rent than the mortgage.

rent here is THROUGH THE ROOF expensive. People pay more for an apartment as big as my house than I pay for my 10yr mortgage!

wheres the secret shop??
I wanted to get into that so badly!! But there were no openings when I looked years ago

carsaidyes, I've seen you mention this secret shop a few times. What exactly is it? Is it like a second, part-time job? I'm super curious, if you don't mind sharing.

trinitrotoluene, I'm a DC area Realtor and this market is SO bananas!!! In the sense that, houses are SELLING like crazy (like you mentioned), but they're totally mediocore and going for way above ask. It's definitely a Sellers market. One that Real Estate hasn't really seen since the early 2000s, from what I hear. No one can really pinpoint why, but there is a huge shortage of inventory. It is starting to climb though, at least here. Extremely slowly, but surely! Give it some time (a couple more weeks or so) and be prepared to go into a house with your best and final offer because tons of other buyers are in your spot. Good luck!!
