Today is our last day of vacation with the boys. We ran them ragged. They're so tired. It has been such a fantastic trip. I connected with big boys a lot on the trip and also with H.
I miss M so much though! I can't wait to see her today. I've pumped more than she consumed each day but this morning my supply nose dived. I am glad I'm getting home to her today.
I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I might finally give notice. My boss knows I'm ready to be done so perhaps he is expecting it.
We didn't take many vacations when S1 was little because we always regretted going places. He is very rigid and routine oriented so being places without his utensils, not consistent routines and in strange places was more pain than fun. He would have multiple melt downs a day and we always regretted spending money to go somewhere when we would have had a more enjoyable experience at home. We realize now that he is almost five that he has finally outgrown that. It was just such a joy taking a family vacation!!!
The baby is as clingy as ever, climbing all the things, and... we decided to potty train DD1 this week. (Which means really I will be home doing all the work.) This is very challenging, to say the least. 😜
coffeequeen14 Sounds like such a wonderful family vacation!

I still don't have my period but have been having really slight cramping. Is that normal or should I be worried? It's been about 10 days now. I will add that between doing my ironman and taking a trip, I've been pumping and producing a lot less milk. I didn't get my period until a month after fully weaning the boys and don't remember cramping.
Basically please tell me I shouldn't be freaking out I have weird pains in my lower abdomen.

Don't freak out! Hormone changes can definitely cause cramping even if you don't get your period right away.

Could it be ovulation? I always get crazy ovulation cramps. I don't have my period yet back either (unless you count the random one I got in November) but I have had cramping lately

I never had this until after giving birth - but now o can definitely feel ovulation! Maybe that's it!
Evening. I was home today with pink eye (thanks DD!) and H came home from work and immediately went to bed with some sort of cough/cold. He looks horrible. I'm about ready to burn our house down and start over so the germs go away. H's 30th birthday is tomorrow, I'm hosting a work party here on Friday, and DD is supposed to stay overnight with my friend on Saturday so I can surprise H and take him out for his birthday. We all need to get our sh-t together and stop getting sick!!

Our neighbors live out of the country and we kind of watch their house. As in when their alarm went off recently, we went in and checked things out and shut off the alarm. If I see a note or something on their house I take it down so no one knows it's primarily vacant.
Anyway, they had us over for a drink tonight and opened a nice bottle of wine, gave me flowers and H a nice bottle of booze. Totally unnecessary but it was awesome. So nice of them!! Plus since they're rarely here their dining room is completely empty so it was the perfect place for the kids to play while we chatted:)

I hope it is skmethjng like that. In my mind I've worked it up to something serious. Because I hate the internet.
Also, whose the poster whose H didn't get paid regularly? Whatever happened with that? I hope he got a new job or they figured out cash flow.
Not good. He was admitted to the hospital. His hemoglobin was at 7.2, so they're doing iron infusions and procrit to try to raise it. They were trying to transition him from IV pain management to oral, but that really wasn't going well. He was in so much pain he was crying. I'd never seen my husband cry until this disease took over him.
I wasn't sure how I was going to pay our rent this month. I worked as much as I could, his dad gave us as much as he could, but we were still short. Someone from my congregation dropped off an envelope with cash in it for us. I just broke down crying. I'm just so grateful.
shehulk723 I think of you often. You're always in my prayers and I'm so happy you were able to come up with the funds for your rent. You have enough going on without the added fear of not having a roof for your babies. You are an amazing wife and mother
Jimmy Kimmel just revealed on his show that his newborn baby son has a heart defect. It's the same one as R, but with an added complication. Here's the link to his monologue if you want to watch: youtu.be/MmWWoMcGmo0
We are back from Chicago now. Taking a trip with a toddler and an infant is not easy! It was good to have them see/meet their great grandpa though.
I am sitting on the couch listening to SO "deal" with the tantrum throwing toddler. She didn't want to get dressed. Then she wanted mommy to get her dressed. Sorry kiddo, I got baby sister dressed, so you get daddy this morning. So she melted down. Is still melting down. SO wasted 15 minutes letting her cry about it. If it was me, she would have been held down and dressed 10 minutes ago. Ugh. So I am sitting on the couch and not interfering. He is late to work, its on him.
We are all 4 sick. Colds are annoying but not inherently debilitating. Just means I get the least sleep.

Lol, that was my H, thanks for asking! - so random that I was lurking today and saw this. SO he actually DID eventually get paid everything they owed him, that was in December, I think. In January we moved down to NC (from NYC), and I started working for my SIL. My H is still looking for a full-time job here but started an Etsy shop about a month ago and it's had a really good first month, so that's exciting. His parents & my SIL (& her H) all have Etsy shops and make their livings that way and are pretty successful, so we're hoping for some of their luck. Aaaaand.... his old job now wants him to work for them again, remotely. So, assuming they can offer health insurance, he'll probably wind up doing that. Which on one hand is pretty stupid because we KNOW that they probably will screw things up again, but on the other hand he'd make a lot more $ than he could potentially find a job for down here, so it will be worthwhile for however long is lasts because we'd be able to save a ton of $ (you know, if they actually pay him....) So, that's where we're at!
shehulk723 glad this hospital is doing a better job at managing his symptoms. So nice to receive the cash to help pay your rent. shanny I saw that about Jimmy Kimmel and thought of you.
Something might just work out for me here. I was surfing craigslist for apartments and came across a two bedroom that's less than 10 minutes from my mom, 5 minutes from church, just a couple of blocks from H's GI haha, and it's cute, all remodeled and looks nice. It's in our price range. When I went to email the person, I looked at the contact info and found out it's owned by my grandparents on my dad's side! This could really be the answer.

Good morning! I'm spending the day house hunting, wish me luck! I had to leave before the babies were up and I won't see them until this evening. It's a strange feeling!

bocaburger good luck! We put an offer on another home and of course, it's going around $100K over asking. Hope the market you are looking in is much less crazy than California.

Can babies get ear infections without being sick first?
My normally happy baby has been miserable lately and I can't figure out why ☹️
Sometimes. Or they can just have congestion. Teething can also cause the same symptoms as an ear infection. Miserable with ear pressure. Sometimes I just give a dose of Tylenol to see if that helps.
Or it could be another developmental change causing baby to be miserable.
Infants are fun because it can be any of the above and it's fun to guess why!!
