I need to make a grocery list today. We didn't get a chance to get groceries yesterday, so we'll just go to the shop down the street (not our usual grocery store) to pick up enough to get us by until this weekend when we can do a real shopping trip.
Yesterday we picked up R's birthday present (two tents and a tunnel to go between them), and H wants to give them to her now because he's too excited to see her play with them to have to wait a couple weeks. Lol. We'll see how long he lasts.

Not much. I went out to a grocery store in a neighboring town since they had chicken on sale to stock up. Our freezer stock finally ran out since the last time I bulked up. So I did that & swung by Target & got nothing. I have the totally opposite experience with them than most. Lol
I'm often the same at Target, namastebiotches. I feel like I used to get so much there, so I still go thinking I'll get stuff, but pretty much only ever get diapers.

I only went because the grocery store was right next door. The clothing selection was meh. I looked for ds. The sale section was meh. They did have cute rainboots for kids in the garden section but only super small sizes so that wasn't cool. I was also irrationally annoyed by the dozens of employees scattered all over socializing while there were a ton of boxes all over the place waiting to be stocked. Very underwhelming 10 minutes of my day. Lmao
We've been meeting with the building society and the couple we'll swap house with this summer and stuff was signed and all, so it's really happening! Yay! We'll have a yard and an extra room and be in a family friendly neighborhood instead of in an apartment building geared towards senior citizens.
DD is on spring break and has spent a few days at my ILs and is currently at my parents'. I am glad she can connect with them like this over school breaks, like I did when I was a kid.

So I saw on the school's calendar a while ago that there was some sort of volunteer's reception in a couple of weeks. I told dh that if I'm not invited or if there is no mention of it to me, I swear I'm going to be ultra offended because my thought process is that maybe it's mostly for the college kids that come in & do tutoring/the spanish program or for the pto moms, etc. Like I have literally come in on average 2-3 times a week in the classroom. That should trump any bs helping the pto does for extracurricular stupid stuff they put on, tbh. Anywho, my invite was in DS' folder today. Damn straight. I guess the kids will put together something in the classroom & then there is the reception in the library. I'm guessing food will be had. Mingling will not be my favorite but sure as hell I will take part in the freebies.

Then listen to this genius idea. The PTO is having this whole teacher appreciation week. Tomorrow is apparently "turn-around taiku" & they want kids to dress as teachers & teachers to dress as kids. This is kind of funny because things aren't the way they used to be. In DS' school, more than 90% of the time the teachers are dressed super casual so kids & them are dressed alike on most days. LOL When I went to get DS that other kindergarten teacher who is also on the PTO who has been super awkward to me really obvious & exaggerated told her class "don't forggeeeetttt, tomorrow to dress fancccyyyyy." yeah okay. Anyway, back to my point. So also in DS' folder was the monthly calendar & his teacher is having a themed day each day to make it fun & tomorrow of all days she is doing "wear exercise clothes day." So idk if she forgot or what so idk how tf to dress him tomorrow lol
