One week until the AP Calc exam. I'm giving my students 8million pages of exam practice, which means I myself have to do 8million pages of exam practice (and study the rubrics and sample solutions) in case they ask me questions. It's exhausting.

Oh you're a great teacher. I always felt like my teachers didn't always help us to prepare for the AP test. So kudos to you.

I mean, there is some selfish motivation behind it. It's my first year teaching this. I need a few 5's to make me look good. There are a few students that are so good, I think I'll be more upset than they will if they don't get a 5. Because I know they're capable. It's nerve wracking. I'm not even sure how long I have to wait until I see their scores. It might not be until next fall.

One more big push and then you can relax a little, right?

JoBub I want to say I got my AP scores back before school was out and our teacher knew how many students recieved 5's, 4's,3's.... but didn't have names. This was also 10-11 years ago so maybe things have changed.

Yes. After 5/9, my 2 AP classes will pretty much be over. We might watch a movie. And my other 4 are classes I could teach with my eyes closed. Then in another week the seniors are done, and I'll only have 2 classes left for the last 1.5 weeks.

This makes sense. I was pretty sure teachers found out something about the scores right away, but I know I got a more detailed score report in September for last year's test, so I wasn't sure if that was it
Going to Target for some laundry detergent and then hanging out with my grandma when she gets back into town in a couple of hours. I switched Z and W's schedule yesterday and it worked out really well. Z napped for 2 hours, which never happens anymore and then slept from 8-8 without waking. FX it continues. I also need to find out how W did last night.
Had C's 4 Month this morning, forgot about shots. Last time she slept a bunch, kinda hope that is what she does instead of fussing a bunch like N did. I brought a 2 dozen of those smalls Bundts from nothing bundt cake for all of the kids teachers. They all seemed pretty excited about it, so hopefully that was a good choice.
Omg I'm so tired today. The rash seems to be not as itchy today thank God!! I think the steroids are helping. My arms and upper thighs looks bad but my stomach looks better I think.

I don't remember doing practice AP exams... maybe we did and I've blocked it out. However, I remember with the AP US History... we were the only class in the high school, so I think less than 30 students. At the time, that test had an incredibly high failure rate across the country, so I think we were all determined to prove we could do it, and we had an excellent teacher. Not a single five if I recall the scores. Less than a handful of fours. Most of us got threes. We passed, so that's great, but we thought we were prepared and had done well. It was so, so difficult. Point is, nobody at all blamed the teacher. It's a hard exam.

babylove518 we're thinking about doing a long weekend in Indy. Since you just went, is there anything you would recommend ? We're planning the children's museum, for sure.

Definitely do the canal. Rent a peddle boat or one of the big family bikes (we did a 2 seater with a seat in front for DD. She loved it).

Of course, I ask you for suggestions and now H doesn't want to go because there's supposed to be a big car auction there when we were going to go. He's such a pessimist and always so quick to veto stuff. It's impossible to plan anything with him
