Both my kids woke up early, so we were ready about 15 minutes earlier than normal. I *could* have gone in early and gotten a jumpstart in what's sure to be a ridiculously busy day again, but eff that. TCF for me, Veggie Tales for the kids.
My legs have been soooo achy lately. Really since I had DS2. I have trouble falling asleep at night because they're so achy and restless and often time I wake up with them feeling that way. I'm wearing scrubs today so I can wear my compression socks, they're that bad. The Vascular Surgery group here is conducting free vein screenings for nurses during Nurse's Week next week and I really think I'm going to take advantage. Maybe nothing is wrong, but maybe it's something that can be treated. We'll see.
Guess I better get a move on. If all goes according to my plans yesterday, I should be discharging half my patients today. Which will be good for tomorrow, but today will be crazy.

Good morning! Went to bed after midnight as I'm trying to get ahead with work before my trip. C was up at 550 to eat. She is not normally that early of a riser. She is currently singing to herself in her crib while I hang out on here and get ready. A half day of work planned and then I'm off. I will be buying some more toys/activities for the toddler's carry on and then packing while I'm child free. I'm so not looking forward to being on a plane with the toddler for 8 hours straight.

We had a great meeting with a realtor yesterday and we're going to push to get everything going asap. There really isn't much inventory at our price point in our area so she's pretty confident we'll sell quickly. We've got a lot to do!
Went for a run around 8 last night and then couldn't fall asleep. Up early of course.
My sister is coming by this morning to help watch the kids while I get some painting done. School for DD this afternoon and run group for me tonight. Busy busy days ahead.
I found out late last night that today is World Maternal Mental Health Day. I wrote about my struggles with PPD and anxiety after each of the girls were born.

This is perfect since I have a reminder on my calendar to call for an appt to see if I can start meds for anxiety. Our mental health is important, so hugs to everyone.
It's another busy day. H had to take me to work so I could get my oil changed. I'll have the shuttle pick me up. Why is it impossible to get everything done? I'm always behind. Always. I have birthday stuff, medical claims issues, pictures to order- and I have like 30 minutes after bedtime to try to get anything done. I do most stuff on my lunch break but it's not enough time. It's also frustrating that all these things fall on me and H can just worry about work.
I'm home from work today with DS. He wasn't his normal chatty self at daycare yesterday, and as the day progressed he started showing symptoms of a stiff neck and was drooling a ton. We brought him to the pediatrician and turns out he has strep throat and torticollis (tightened neck muscles which end up restricting movement of the neck, essentially)! Poor buddy, he is so miserable. I sent DD to daycare today to keep them away from each other. Fx she doesn't get it!! Hopefully the abx kick in soon, and he starts to feel better.
hikingmama222, sounds like its going well house-wise, FX'd! becole ditto to feeling like I have an endless checklist and DH doesn't help with most of it. He keeps saying he's going to do things and never, ever gets around to any of it. Make a vet appointment for the rabbit? He's been mentioning for two months and still hasn't, so I am just gonna call today. /headdesk adouces06, poor dude, hope he feels better soon!
I am so freaking exhausted this morning I was nodding off driving into work. And I got some decent sleep. At least 7ish hours with only one, brief wakeup, I shouldn't be falling asleep at the wheel. Worried maybe there's an issue with my thyroid cause it's been this way for a few weeks. My mom and sis both have hypothyroidism so it runs in the family. I know it's not common til after 35, but my hair is also falling out again. Bah. Maybe I'll call my doctor if this continues for another couple of weeks.
adouces06 - I hope your little guy feels better soon!
I'm still in daycare limbo and I should really be more stressed out about it than I actually am. I can't remember if I told you that last Wednesday (the only day DS needs to go to daycare) the owner of our daycare center told me that they may have to eliminate the part time program, as early as two weeks from then (which would be next week). The head infant teacher quit and another employee is going out on unexpected medical leave, so they just don't have enough staff. The former assistant director/head infant teacher at our old daycare (I'll call her B) is still looking for a job and I told her about the opening and she seemed to be interested. Her son went to that daycare for a few years, and they actually know each other pretty well. I told the daycare owner (D) that she was still looking for a job and was interested and they still haven't reached out to each other. I know this because this morning I asked D's husband (it's an older couple that owns the daycare) what is going on and if Nathan can come back next week and he had no clue, other than they hadn't hired anyone yet. I again mentioned that I'd talked to B and she was interested, and that D had seemed interested in talking to B about the position. This seemed to be news to him and he seemed really interested in calling B to talk about it. D is supposed to call me sometime today and let me know what the eff is going on. I need to know if I am screwed out of daycare starting next week. I have no idea what I'm going to do because it's really hard to find daycare providers that will take a kid only one day a week. I really don't want to go back to our old daycare because it's really gone downhill over the years and I don't like how awful they were to B, who we love. I'm sure they would take DS one day a week, though, so we may have to go back to them if we're really in a bind. So annoying.
jwinct, I wouldn't even know where to begin to find care for one day a week. I hope all the pieces fall together nicely for you and there's no break in care for your son.
@holachica, You got this! I didn't read any books and made things up as we went along. Each kid was a little different but lots and lots of praise seemed to work great for them both. Lots of high fives and clapping.
britta, I hope you're able to figure out the restless legs. vavavictoria, good luck with the flight! Is this another work trip or a fun trip? hikingmama222, good luck with the house. I hope once you get it on the market, it will sell fast. penguin129, thanks for sharing that information. I didn't know that was a thing, but I'm glad it is. iwantbacon, I hate confrontation too. I hope you're able to get some rest later. becole, there just aren't enough hours in the day. adouces06, I hope he feels better soon. Poor little guy. macaronmama, it's so scary to feel like you're nodding off while driving. jwinct, that is ridiculous that they can't tell you now. I mean, you need to plan for the future if they're not going to be able to take him anymore. I hope that B and D connect and everything works out. @holachica, so jealous . No recs, but wishing you the best of luck.
The sun is out today, so I'm already feeling better today. I also managed to get us all out the door on time this morning with little argument. Considering that N argues with us about almost everything these days, I'll take it. The boys' daycare has a Crossfit instructor come in every other Wednesday for the older kids, and this is the first week that N is going to be there for the class. I can't wait to hear how he did. I also sent in a new schedule for G with 3 bottles and his oatmeal, so I hope he does okay with it.
jwinct, you may get lucky if you do need to look elsewhere. I found a few daycares near me that charge an hourly rate for part time. G only goes 1 day a week most weeks, and he splits the spot with another baby in the room. The two of them are never there on the same day. You may even have an easier time since it's the same day every week (G's day rotates based on MH's schedule).
We have professional headshots today at work. Our office is laidback so dress code for the pictures is business casual. It would have been easier if I could just wear a suit. Instead I stressed over finding something not too formal but classic. I went with a navy button down, fuchsia undershirt, and simple gold jewelry.
I dress business casual everyday but most of the office wears jeans. So it's funny that most people brought their shirts to change into instead of wearing them. Heaven forbid you wear something other than a t-shirt or polo for a day, haha.

The place we currently go to charges hourly, which actually kind of sucks. I just called our old daycare to ask if they have part time availability and the cost, and they said it's $70 for the entire day, from open to close. Right now I pay $90 a day. I drop him off in the morning to save money and I am 15-20 minutes late to to work on those days. If we switch back to the old daycare then DH can drop him off earlier and I won't have to be late to work. And DH just emailed me 10 seconds ago and said he thinks we should switch back to the old daycare anyway, to save the money and keep me from being late to work.
britta that's awful about your legs, but how convenient about the vein screening! I hope you figure it out soon. hikingmama222 good luck with the house stuff, sounds exciting! jwinct sorry about the daycare issue. I hope it gets resolved asap. Poor DS adouces06! I had other thoughts for people but forget. We have nothing planned today. Dd2 is taking a nice morning nap. Dd1 and I painted Easter eggs. Yes a little late. And not ultra washable. My dining room table and bathroom sink look like tie-dye (sp?) tee shirts. I'm going to dinner tonight with a friend. So excited to get out.

The one that we looked at with an hourly rate would have been a lot more expensive than the one we're at. That sounds like a better deal, then. I hope you can work it out!
Welp...I just officially switched daycares. Back to our old daycare we go. I called them let them know we're definitely starting DS there on the 17th and that I'd stop by this afternoon to pick up the paperwork. And I called our current daycare to let them know that today is his last day (my parents are able to watch him next week). I'm not hugely thrilled to go back to the old place, but I'm glad it's settled.
jwinct, wow, that all happened fast. Sounds like everything is working out for the best. I didn't realize how stressful finding childcare was going to be. My parents seemed to have it so easy as we never changed providers unless we moved. I am already stressing about what we'll do for before and after school care and DS1 doesn't start kindergarten until 2018.
erien22846 - Yeah, I didn't want to have to keep waiting for our daycare to give me a definitive answer. Childcare is stressful, for sure! When I was a kid, we never needed daycare because my mom was a nurse and my dad was a cop and they worked specific shifts so that someone would always be home with us. One days that wasn't possible, we just went over to my grandparents' house for a little while. Hopefully your school system has a before/after school care program in place like many towns do. My girls go to the after-school program right at DD2's school and it's great. (My older daughter gets bussed to the school because she's in a different school now because of what grade she's in).

erien22846 our school system has a partnership with the YMCA for after school care. They also offer before school care at the early elementary level. Maybe your school system has something like that? I am already nervous for the fall when I'll have to drop N at before school care, get G to daycare two towns away, and get into work on time.
