FieryMama, I'm sorry. How's his fever? Is the dr going to check him for anything else?
I have been trying not to check with the thermometer all the time, but he feels warm. I think we will call again in Friday if he isn't feeling better.
Update: it was 104 earlier today, 102.3 now. His fevers have been high most of the day and he has been doing a lot of sleeping. I am hoping it is his body finally fighting off whatever this is

So I'm suddenly hosting my family for a Mothers Day lunch. My sister texted me this morning and asked if I had plans, and then asked if it would be ok for her family to come in. And then I guess she told my mom, because she texted and said she and my dad will come in too (which is great— since we don't currently have a car, I told my family that it would be awesome if they came to us sometimes— visits had stopped being reciprocal.) But now I have to figure out food for 6 adults and 2 toddlers! We could go out but I feel like that might be more stress than it's worth. Ideas?
I could order fried chicken and biscuit baskets from a place near me. They make vegan fried "chicken" too, and it's one of my favorite indulgences.
Or, I could make a big rosemary and olive focaccia, and roasted veggies, and have a pesto and ricotta and cashew ricotta and maybe a pasta or grain (quinoa, faro, etc) salad.
Or I could do a taco bar and chips and guacamole and salsa
th3stryck3r, my mom does fried chicken take out on Mother's Day! So that's my vote. I'm not sure if we'll be going over there for that or if we might go see DH's parents.
ampaints, I think I am late with my congrats too, but you are awesome!

So DD1 was more pissed than I expected I was thinking 8 or 9, she was definitely a 13- she started yelling and almost pushed Allison. She told us she is not okay with this and is fucking pissed. We did tell her I got knocked up but accident, it's not like we chose the worst time of our relation to being another child into the mix. Whatever. She took off to her room, so looks like she's skipping dinner with H. He's pretty bummed, but definitely thinks she's overreacting.
C bumped her lip tonight on her play shopping cart and it looks like she cut her upper frenulum. It didn't bleed much. From what I've read, it is common and not a big deal but I feel bad.
I woke up way too early today (usual time). We take the underground site tour today and I don't have to catch my train until 630 instead of 6. Now im just sitting around.
I know we have a few ladies with thyroid problems. Does anyone have Graves eye disease? My mom hasn't officially been diagnosed but she has the pre symptoms and often the hyperthyroidism shows up in 6 months.. PDQ.

Today is sneak peek kindergarten day. S1 will get to sit in on a lesson. It will be in 100% Spanish. He knows he's doing the Spanish school but I don't think he really knows what that means. OT this afternoon.
FieryMama, how's C this morning? I hope he finally kicked the fever.
th3stryck3r, what do you most want to eat on Sunday? Pick that then instruct your H to make it happen.
@betweenthelines, have you seen the carhartt commercial for mothers day? it made me cry. i am going to try to post here, but it made me think of you since we are women in a mans world....so to say.
mrspiatt, i'm rather disappointed in your daughter. it's time to tell her to stop being so selfish and more supportive.
