I think w is going to self wean soon ish. Today he asked for wcm and he's been asking for food instead of nursing. Yesterday we didn't nurse until afternoon because we were running around. I have all the feels but it's cool to see him grow up.
We are down to only mornings. I def had/have feels about it.
runningmommy519, E's day care provider is from Germany and speaks exclusively to them in German during the day. It is awesome. He started there at 7 months so the situation is very different but I completely understand why they want a 5 year commitment at the school you'll be sending DS1. The beginning will be pretty rough, I'm sure and he might not really like it but I encourage you to keep him there. Really, you are giving him a great gift (to be bilingual) although it is a struggle. I always tell my students if learning another language (really learning it, not just the superficial "hola, como estas?"....) were easy, everyone would speak 10 different languages. That's my pep talk.

esgrunner with a program like this so close I think I would have major regret if we didn't do it. Especially with it being free. It's a new program (they graduate their first set of 5th graders this year) but I've heard nothing but great things. They really dud their research before starting.
The plan is for the program to continue through high school with 2 classes being in Spanish for jr high and high school.
MIL is from Central America. Her biggest regret is not teaching her children Spanish.
Oh balls... I'll be ok to travel in October for my BFFs wedding right? I'll be 6 months so that should be ok. Not to figure out how to make one of these brides maid dresses work...

hiimjamie, you should be good to travel! Just get a dr note saying your due date (a lot of airlines have a policy about flying past 34 weeks and want you to prove it)

Kindergarten sneak peek was a success. S1 seemed freaked out at first. The teacher spoke no English. He seems excited. He did say he likes his old school better and when I asked why, he said, "because that's where my friends are" NOT I had no idea what the teacher was saying. So that's cool
@betweenthelines, have you seen the carhartt commercial for mothers day? it made me cry. i am going to try to post here, but it made me think of you since we are women in a mans world....so to say.
Oh I haven't seen it! I am absolutely in the minority at my job as a woman. I'm only 1 of 5 in my office of 80p, and in the company as a whole (7k+ people) there are only a couple hundred women.
This commercial features owners/ceo's of mechanical firms, the first women master plumber in MI, who also happens to be the first African American women master plumber in the us. What a great commercial. Inspiring and touching. It made me cry at work.

skinandbones sorry for the rough start. Just because I have a toddler and a teenager and work full time, who started your day by yelling at you? Because in my world it could be a number of people! I hope your day got better!

*sigh*
We went to OT today and the therapist said that because we are near the end of our 20 Sessions (which they cover no matter what) per year they submitted for more and were denied because they no longer cover OT for developmental delays. They are trying to appeal and see what we can do to have the therapy he needs. He's made so much progress and will regress without it. I might need a Good cry session later
