I called EI for G. Based on what they said on the phone I don't think she will qualify for services. They are going to call back with more info and such. We will see what happens when they do the evaluation.
We're still RFing here and will be as long as possible. J is visibly more comfortable in one car seat above the other but neither is an issue at all. I hope to keep him RFing for at least another year.

Heading to Vancouver tomorrow for business so I've got to get myself all packed tonight.
Not going to lie, I'm looking forward to the alone time and a giant comfy hotel bed.
Jealous! Sounds nice!
It's a quick turnaround - out tomorrow and back the next morning - but I get to eat alone, while the food is still hot, and stretch out in bed and nap on the plane. It will be awesome.

what prompted you to call? Is it for speech?
Yeah. She says a decent amount but It seems like so many other kids on this board and IRL are just ahead of her. I don't want her to be behind. MH isn't worried in the least because he didn't really talk until three.

The pregnancy hormones are real. I just sat in my car crying to Bette Midler's Wind Beneath my Wings. It reminds me of my grandfather so much. He died 16 years ago and it still sucks so much. He was just about the greatest human I have ever met.

How many words does she have?
I don't have a solid count at the moment but I am going to say maybe 25 or 30. Most of that count is statements broken down like "I eat," "im done," "I play," "that's it," or "I see it". The only real individual words she uses are momma, daddy, cat, duck, shoes and sit.

At my EI we use 20 words by 2 and staring to combine so looks like she would be on track with the tool we use. My doctor also uses the same guidelines. I know it's hard to hear kids around you using full blown sentences and that's great so many kids are! But I would say it seems like there's quite a bit of early talkers on here and full blown sentences isn't the "typical" 2 year old I had to take a step back from some of my mommy boards when I was worried about nova becuase it was hard for me for some reason. Sounds like G is coming along with her speech tho:)
Thanks. This makes me second guess my decision to call a bit. She has had learned most of those words in the last two months or so which says to me that she is progressing. It's just so frustrating. Between the M15ers here that can count and pick out colors and say the alphabet and such and the LOs IRL that I know that are ahead of her I am just so unsure. I don't want to waste state money but I also don't want her to be behind.

If you're concerned I would still call. If anything it will help with your mind at ease!
I called yesterday 😊I am waiting for a call back.

EI is there for a reason. If you're concerned, call. If you qualify, great. If not, great.
I also think we have a lot of early talkers in the board and a lot of people who arent speaking up who are in similar shoes.

I haven't been round much lately but just wanted to add that my kid is one of those hardly talking. He has full conversations with himself but there are few if any recognisable words. So far the Dr isn't worried so I'm trying not to either.
