I'm definitely feeling like the bottom one today. I don't want to be at work. I need a day of rest after yesterday.

DH took this entire week off to finish putting up the fence. I wish I could take a week off, but I never have enough vacation days thanks to sick kids.

Oh, and DS decided 3:45 was a good time to get up today. Though, it may be because he leaked through his overnight diaper AGAIN. I am kicking myself for not changing my Amazon Subscribe & Save before it shipped early last week. I was thinking we'd get through them before he really needed to move up a size because it says up to 28 lbs, but nope, that must be a tall and skinny kid, not my little chunka. I swear he grew just in the last week. So now I have an almost entire box of size 4 Huggies Overnights and size 3 Huggies Little Movers that I will not be using. I stopped at Walmart this morning and bought the appropriate sizes, so hopefully this nightly leaking will stop.

Baby is napping and DD1 is watching Peppa. Lazy day today. The baby's croup seems to be much better, no more barking cough and her fever is gone.

Bottom photo for sure. Since DH spent most of the weekend working from home, I feel like I got nothing done and no "me" time. DS2 woke up twice last night, which I didn't love. Now back at work and feeling overwhelmed but unable to focus on all sides.

I'm strongly considering deleting Facebook, Tapatalk, etc from my phone to see if it helps me focus on weekdays which may help with my stress.

I got a sneak peek of family photos and I look horrible. Double chin in full effect, which is not helping my mood.

A little of both, I feel like I could focus - just not here at work, heh.

My milk supply is tanking even more. I think I may just have to give up and realize we'll be full formula soon. I am kinda of relieved in a way because I miss being on the patch and it stressed me out trying to find time to pump at work. But I feel awful and guilty and not-quite-ready because I honestly loved nursing so much.

jwinct, I'm dragging today too. Although my weekend wasn't quite as busy as yours, we were on the go all the time. And I still didn't get everything done I wanted!

Can you just use the overnights during the day so they get used? Otherwise there are women and children non-profits that would appreciate the donation, I'm sure. I take my leftover diapers to Families Helping Families to benefit foster kids. They take open packages.

iwantbacon,I'm sure you are your own worst critic. I never like the way I look in family pictures either but I know I never judge anyone else as harshly as I judge myself. I'm sure you look lovely.

macaronmama, figuring out when to wean can be difficult. With both DS1 and DD I hit a point where it was becoming too stressful - always second guessing whether they were getting enough while nursing and stressing over my pump output. I never regretted weaning because either way I was feeding my baby and doing so doesn't have to be so stressful.

I can't see the bottom picture, but I think that is me today. We had such a busy weekend. Saturday we went to Day Out with Thomas. It was so fun. N loved the train ride and the big slide. G fell asleep at the tail end of the train ride. They did a great job with it, and we will definitely go back. We got a late lunch/early dinner, and then went home so I could pump. We went and walked at the beach after dinner, and then got ice cream.

Yesterday, MH worked, and I took the boys to the March of Dimes walk. We were on a team with my work BFF in honor of her daughter. It was fun, but tiring. N did a fun run before the walk, and one of the emcees interviewed us briefly after the sprint. We managed 2 laps (1 mile each) before N asked to play on the playground. After some resting time at home, we went to the grocery store. I was reminded again why I prefer to go by myself.

Today should be fairly quiet. Work and home. I should probably do some laundry tonight, but I think I may just try to go to bed early.

erien22846 - There are families in need on my local Buy Nothing and Moms pages, so I'll likely reach out to them and ask if they could use them. I can certainly use the overnights during the day, though.

iwantbacon - We are definitely our own worst critics, but I know how you feel. I avoid pictures lately because I hate how I look, which I know is terrible.

I was doing so well on WW and then I just stopped after I got sick a few month ago. I really need to get back on track with it. If I'd stuck with it, I'd almost be at my goal probably. Why do I do this to myself??

We were crazy busy this weekend getting the house ready to list. Measurements are getting done today, stager comes Thursday and pictures first thing Friday morning.

We went to see a couple houses yesterday, not quite what we are looking for. Have our eye on another 3 we want to go see.

I need to go pick up an outfit for DS's baptism this Saturday. I've done nothing to prepare.

DD has school and dance today and I really need to get a run in.

DS is being so clingy and whiney. He's also been so snotty for 2 weeks now. I want to blame teething but I'm thinking maybe allergies.

Any fun ideas for a first father's day? I want to start planning now because we're doing it earlier (DH will be out of the country for the actual day). And I'm planning on getting him the grill he really wants as a present.

Good morning! Mondays are busy for me since my deadlines are Mondays. I just wanted to share an email I got from our Woman's Club. The lady who asked me to do the story wrote this to me.

"Yes! Wow! What an article. It was great.Thanks. we are gearing up for our 2nd Annual Cupcake War. We need some good PR. What do you think."

MH text me from work about an hour ago with the most obnoxious news ever. I'm so annoyed.

Long story kind of short-ish...when we started working here 5+ years ago, it used to be that our service (cardiothoracic surgery) managed the patients in ICU. The Critical Care Medicine service would consult to help manage things like the ventilator and antibiotics and whatnot, but primary management was left to our service because, duh, surgery patients. About 3.5 years ago they (leadership) decided they wanted to move towards a model that most other cardiothoracic surgery ICUs around the country use, where all ICU patients are managed by a primary "cardiothoracic" critical care medicine team. When this happened, primary management shifted from our PAs to the CC PAs. Our PAs now are the "consultants" on their own surgical patients and are only allowed to manage "surgical" problems, like bleeding or wound issues. Mind you, they're still expected to see and write notes on all the ICU patients everyday. We have 2 PAs on call from 7A-7P; one manages the mechanical support/transplant patients and the other manages general cardiac surgery patients and sees consults. From 7P-7A, one person does all of these things. The Critical Care PAs have up to 4 PAs on their service from 7a-7p and 2 from 7p-7a, which means that during the day, they each have about 4 patients to see. (I frickin see and write notes on more than that!)

A little over a year ago, the critical care PAs were very short staffed. They looked to our service to fill their holes, offering a bonus for any shift picked up with them. You can imagine how well this went over. Wait, you just kicked us out of the ICU because we were told that the best thing for the patients was a medicine service managing...well unless you're short I guess. Now we're good enough to take care of these patients. One PA picked up one shift and that was the end of that. I guess critical care figured it out and had their own people pick up to fill their holes.

In the last 6 months there's been even more scuttlebutt about our PAs no longer providing ANY ICU coverage at all, with them being responsible only to operate and take care of the immediate postops in the recovery unit. After a meeting this morning, MH learned that YET AGAIN, our service is being looked to help fill holes on the critical care service, except this time it sounds like it's not voluntary. Nothing like a slap in the face. Knowing that leadership is actively working towards eliminating your presence because you're not good enough, but still expecting you to fix their holes in staffing.

I'm so livid. Good for you for reading all of this if you have. I needed to get it off my chest.

I started out the top picture and am slowly fading into the bottom lol. I brought the girls to a pottery place to make plates for grandmother's for mothers day. It was... a lot. Of work, money, and time. We got outta there just at the right time before dd1 melted down in the car.
I need to print a bazillion pictures asap.
Both girls are napping and I'm about to hit the cookies.

I had a presentation this morning. It's also my DS1s 3rd birthday. We started by singing happy in a cinnamon roll. He liked that. He didn't want to go to school today but he was happy that the teacher knew it was his birthday. He said "I'm 3 and a half". Lol. No idea why he thinks that.

The washer just finished with the sheets off mine and DS1's beds. I'm going to hang them on the line to dry (aka drape them over the rails of our deck). I really don't think there's anything better than sheets dried on the line. It reminds me of being a little girl. My grandma's sheets always smelled so wonderful.

I had the busiest week at work I think I've ever had in the 4.5 years I've been here last week, so I wasn't able to get on much. We had a mass email come out late last week also announcing that we are officially moving to "flex time" (we were already pretty much doing this in my group anyway) and also a set work from home schedule. I think that overall it's good news, and I found out that I am eligible to participate even though my new job title is in management, which is a big deal - I don't think this is usually an option.

I am actually leaving work early in about an hour, DH booked me a couple services at a fancy spa at a winery by our house as my birthday gift but this is the first I've been able to use it. It's a hot stone massage and a Moroccan scalp treatment (I'm not really sure what that entails but if it means someone rubs my head for a half hour I am SO excited). Last night he told me that after my appointment is over, not to come home but go do whatever I want and come home at the kids' bedtime just in time to say goodnight and tuck them in b/c he wants me to totally unwind. He and his schedule can frustrate me, but he absolutely hit a home run on this.

Lastly (excuse my novel), I ordered the mattress set and pillows for DS2's "big boy bed" and got his new bedding in this weekend. He is so beyond excited for it - this is our birthday gift to him (his birthday is 2 weeks from today). I can't WAIT for everything to be all set up. I think he's going to love it.

britta, it seems like it doesn't matter what field you're in, that many people in administration don't know what the hell they're doing. Hospitals, schools, etc. I'd be annoyed too.
iwantbacon, I'm sure the photos look great. I constantly point out what's wrong with me in photos to mh (weird smiles, wrinkles, frizzled hair) and he literally doesn't see it.

Oh I know. I literally text MH, "This never works. You can't rob Peter to pay Paul." Besides the fact that it's utterly demoralizing for leadership to expect them to do the very job they're trying to push them out of, it's also almost next to impossible for it to even work. Unless, of course, they're expecting our service to never have days off. It's just all so annoying.

ETA: And the reverse can't be expected, so that's obnoxious too. We just lost a PA to another service and have another going on maternity leave this summer. The critical care staff literally can't cover for our PAs, so it seems kind of unfair that we have to step and help their critical staff shortage but no one can help us.
