We got the big girls off to daycare/school and then I went back to bed because it is gloomy and rainy here which is good because I was up at midnight cluster feeding and trying not to drown DD3 or spray BM all over the bed with crazy letdown leading to a gassy baby that also seems to save 92% of poop for night time.... I can't complain though because she still would have slept until this morning if I didn't wake her up to feed every 3 hours
I went to the chiropractor today so hopefully I will be able to get comfy enough to take a nap this afternoon. OB said I didn't look like I was close to labor at all, so baby should cook for a while longer yet
I'm 38w and although in my head, I want to go another week, the anticipation is killing me! I can't wait to meet him! DD and I have been enjoying each other's company and we have a lot of things scheduled to do for the next week but I still can't help but feel like I want him already!
The OB's office called wanting to schedule the c-section for next Thursday and I'm freaking out. They told me they'd schedule it for sometime AFTER 39 weeks but I'll be 38+6 by their count and only 38+2 by my count. I wish I had lied about my LMP but I spoke with multiple midwives and the OB who did the version yesterday about having tracked my cycle and being fairly certain of my ovulation date and wanting to schedule the c-section for 39 weeks or after by my count and they all seemed fine with it.
I know it's probably not that big of a deal and plenty of babies are born earlier and are perfectly healthy...
Glad you advocated for yourself and that they listened to you PirateCat ! Getting so close!!
I'm still waiting for them to call back to see if they will reschedule it. The OB that is apparently doing the c-section is not the one I spoke with yesterday. I'm really hoping that she'll be open to pushing it back further...
Team green turned team double blue. Jac.ob and Eth.an were born via c-section on May 1. My water broke at home at 35 weeks and 6 days. Went to the hospital and baby A was still breech so went in for a c-section and babies were both born at 9:46 just shy of 3 hours after my water broke. We are all doing well and everyone was alone to go home after 3 days. Thank you for this check in

I'm sorry. I know a few different people who had CS just before 39 weeks because it was their first and doctor didn't want to risk them going into labor before CS. Recovery is much worse I've heard for those who go into labor and end up with CS. All was well with babies. indont blame you for advocating for yourself, just trying to reassure you. Is this your first?
Me: 32, Wife: 38, Together for 5 years, Married for 2 years IUI #1 (8/2016): Letrozole, Ovidrel, Crinone = BFN IUI #2 (9/2016): Letrozole, Ovidrel, Endometrin = BFP!! EDD 5/26/17
I'm in contraction hell. I got.my membranes stripped at 9 am yesterday and by 1 pm I starter having unbearable contractions. Unfortunately they're not consistent. I'm in so much pain I can't talk through them. Do you think the hospital will admit me if I beg?
How many weeks are you? When I went to the hospital last night I really wasn't convinced I was in labor. They said before 39 weeks you have to show cervical change and they can't do anything to help you along. I would think that after having unbearable contractions for 24 hours you'll have had at least some cervical change since your appointment yesterday.

It is my first, and thanks. I'm waiting to hear back but I am feeling better that it'll work out regardless.

I'm sorry, that sounds awful. I hope things progress quickly and that the rest of the birth goes smoothly!
The woman spoke with the doctor from yesterday and she said rescheduling it for the following week was fine! So now we are scheduled for 5/25 and it feels surreal to have a date set. I asked my H this morning to pick a date if we were to have a choice and 5/25 is the date he picked. Plus one of my favorite midwives is on call that day!

Apparently not. No cervical changed despite the pain so they won't admit me. I'm so depressed.
So I'm trying to figure out when I should have my sister come up. She's got a 6 hour drive and I think we would prefer to have the last night before baby to ourselves, plus there is the very small chance that they flip the baby the day of and send me home. She is planning on staying for 2 weeks and I would hate for her to waste some of that time waiting around for me to go into labor.
How long does a c-section take from start to finish? I'm thinking maybe she can start driving the morning of (that way she can turn back before it's too late or maybe not start driving until she hears from us that c-section is a go). CS is scheduled for 9AM and they want me there by 7.
PirateCat Glad things worked out! I think driving up that day would be good.
I've never had a c/s, but I would think that you could send her an update between the version and possible c/s....plus after a c/s you would spend time in recovery, getting settled in to your room, quite time with just the three of you before she arrives??!!!

PirateCat, I am so sorry the version didn't work. Hopefully baby decides to flip on their own - there's still hope! As for how long the c-section takes, as long as everything goes on schedule, it should be about an hour from the time you walk to the OR and when you get to recovery. Then you can expect to be in recovery for 1/2 hr to 1 hr. My hospital allowed 2 people in recovery with me in addition to H but that's up to you whether you want anyone else there.
chknma, that's kind of what we are thinking too but I want to be sensitive to her expectations of her involvement.
sleepymonkey, when were you allowed to eat after the CS (although maybe with your vertigo you weren't interested in eating anyway?)? I know that my mom will be very concerned about making sure that my sister will be here in time to feed me the food that she's sending with her...

Congratulations tortor4 and elmo1414! Love seeing all these babies pop up. Good luck to everyone going into their induction tomorrow.
setsuna17 I'm sorry, that sounds so upsetting. I really hope it's your time soon.
I'm also hanging out in prodromal "fun." Today I'm 38+3 according to my doctor, and exactly 38 according to me. Either way, I'm good with her coming and I'd it just to happen. I can't get any rest since the worst contractions come at night, so I'm getting stressed at the thought of already being exhausted when labor starts. The next person who tells me to "enjoy this time I have left" is getting something thrown at them.

PirateCat - you won't be able to eat anything but a liquid diet for a while....geez, I've had 2 c-sections you'd think I would remember how long, but I don't. Maybe 4-6 hrs or so? I had jello, broth and apple juice at first. Fun, fun!
My last c-section was scheduled for 12:00 but they usually run a bit behind, DS was born about 12:28 and we were wheeled into recover prob about 45 minutes later so total time in the OR was about an hour. Then we were in recovery for at LEAST an hour, then we were in our room. I don't think I was very coherent until about 4 hours after the baby was born, everything is foggy and they will be concentrating on having you nurse (if that's what you choose to do) and have skin to skin. I (personally) don't like any visitors the first 24 hrs because I am just really out of it, super buy bonding with baby, and boobs hanging out the entire day, plus the nurses come in constantly and press on your belly (to make sure your uterus contracts) and there's just a LOT going on.
So cute congrats elmo1414. I am so sorry setsuna17, you need to go treat yo self to something, an ice cream, or pedicure, something fun!
I just got back from my appt, not in labor as my contractions are now all over the place. I kid you not hand to bible I am 5 cm and 80% eff. Hopefully that will make for a quick induction, or better yet labor, still have 18 hours

At least you are making progress if nothing else! I have a fear that I'm going to go tomorrow and have them tell me I've made zero progress after all this prodromal nonsense. Good luck tomorrow! (Or in the next 18h 😂)
