DVMmomma My OB office said it can take up to 3-6 months for diastisis to reach a steady state, so you may still see improvement in the separation. How big is the gap at 6 weeks?
Oh yay!! I can't say I really get how you measure how big the gap is. It seems to be above and down to my belly button in length and width is like 1.5 index fingers
DVMmomma That doesn't sound too bad, actually. My OB doesn't even check it at 6 weeks. Just don't start situps or planks or something like that until later. Doing things that work transverse abs and obliques are better since they can help support things while your rectus abdominus (hopefully) comes back together.

Mine was much worse than that and at 9 months PP is almost gone (and I haven't exercised in a year so I definitely didn't help it!). Yoga is ok if you modify it to avoid major ab work like planks etc.

Thanks for all your well wishes ladies! We survived. They both had poosplosions and I, of course, didn't have backup outfits. Both are doing really good. Celia weighed in at 11 lbs and Isla is 12 lbs. They're both 23 inches long.
bocaburger, thanks for sharing that! That's awesome. Yet again, it seems like I'm hearing from you guys that I should just have patience 😝 I don't know if I've made it obvious or not but I'm kind of an immediate gratification kind of person.
LydiaDeetz, been there! And this reminds me that the back up outfits I have for mine would not come close to fitting them. Sounds like you survived and sounds like your girls are doing awesome!!

It did go well! EG is 10.2lbs and 21 1/2 inches and E is 10.14 lbs and 21 1/2 inches. So they are growing perfectly! EG is going on Zantac to see if we can get the spit up under control. Poor little babies got 3 shots each today and 1 oral med, I felt so sorry for them!!

My girls STTN last night!!! We'll kind of. We put then to put at 8 but they would sleep because it was so hot and apparently our ac is broken. I brought them into the RnPs in our room and then they were chill but all of a sudden E starts screaming. Like I've never heard this before I thought she was going to make herself throw up. So DH made her a 2 ounce botttle and she crushed it. But then she fell asleep and slept from 10-6:30. How on earth can she be THAT hungry?
mustloveerica M has lost her shit for a half ounce nibble. And then another five minutes later. OTOH, on Monday night L drak 8oz and 1.5 hours later was frantic for another 6oz.😰
Since we started adding more absorbency to his diaper, W has actually been STTN. IT's been wonderful. At the same time, Z's first tooth is coming in, so she's not sleeping.

Ugh that's the other thing. When I got her up at 6:30, E was soaked. But they are still in size 1s and in not sure they make anything more absorbent.
mustloveerica Size up and snug it on? What brand are you using?
Right now we're working our way thru a box of pampers swaddlers. But we have pretty much every brand in every size in our stock pile. I'll try a size 2 tonight.

We size up and fold the front down. They're about to outgrow 2s, but overnight, we use 4 overnights and W still outpees them. W's cloth overnight setup is kind of ridiculous.

Oh! If you have huggies or 7th generation, they run smaller (IME).

We have huggies. I also think luvs run smaller and are more absorbent so I think I might try a size up in luvs for the night. If a bigger diaper helps her continue the STTN trend then I'm all for it.
I also think I'm going to stop getting H up at night and see what she does. She's usually the baby that has to be woken when her sister gets up. So she might be ready to STTN on the regular.

"When I got her up" UGH. I'm so jealous of your babies. If mine were still sleeping at 6:30 you best believe I'd be well under the covers myself SaveSave
Day off today without toddler and decided to get a pedi. Girlfriend asks me something I didn't understand... (I thought she was upselling me on something). Apparently she was talking about skipping the massage part of pedi because she thought it would hurt my giant feet. So pissed for missing this. Squeeze my feet! I'm paying you to do it! 😩

lol she's a banshee at night but I almost always have to wake her in the morning to keep her on schedule. She likes to sleep in I guess.
@feegan, Ash woke up at 5am for a month (which prompted the pacifier weaning). Now they take turns waking up between 5 and 6am. I just want some goddamn consistency!!! piccyami, we use 7th gen and I wouldn't say they run small, rather have a different fit. Huggies and Pampers were wider but lower rise, which didn't work for my kids- We were fine in a size 1 7thGen but had to buy 2s in Pampers. mustloveerica, we went up a size and then added a doubler (also called booster pads). Then we got smart and started buying Tena incontinence pads. My kids are currently wearing 5s during the day and 6overnights with a pad. Because they save all their pee for bedtime, I swear.
schmella, Yes, they are narrower. In my mind, that was smaller for some reason. We had to size up in those faster because we had cheeks hanging out. It was problematic.
As I enter hour 3 of the girls being awake this evening (morning?) I've been having some deep thoughts. Most notable of which being that I think I'll start bottles for these ON wake ups. Maybe shleping them both around and positioning for BFing is too much stimulation. Bottles sound easier for all parties. I can pump before bed and just leave the bottles out ready to go right? Obvi they'll just be room temp but my girls don't seem to mind that. The milk will only be out for ~3 hours so I think that's ok too yeah?

Pumped BM can stay at room temp for 6 hours - I hope this works for you!

DVMmomma one trick I use for bedtime is to feed them a nice warm bottle (during the day they don't mind cold or room temp but I make the bedtime bottle good and warm), then when they get down to 0.25 to 1/2 an ounce left we burp them and swaddle them, then finish their bottle. We were having problems with them waking up too much during burping so now we burp and swaddle before they're done and then don't bother burping after that last half ounce. They're usually out cold when they finish.
