I was scheduled for my induction on Wednesday morning at 12:01 am. My water was broken at 8:30 and intensified my contractions immensely! I received an epidural after only to have to have it taken out and repeated when it only blocked my right side. After 18 hours of labor and only 5 cm in progress, plateauing after that, and low heart tones, I was rushed for a C section. Nothing had gone to plan and I was terrified. After vomiting on myself in the OR, my son's heart rate dropped even more and the surgery was rushed even though I could feel more than I should have if we had had more time for the anesthesiologist and I had not gotten sick.
Oliver screamed and cried as he was brought into our lives and let me know he was ok. My rainbow baby has been amazing and though was predicted to be in the 30s percentile wise at every growth scan was a whopping 8 pound 5 ounce baby in the 80th! Absolutely nothing went to plan yesterday but here we are holding our son and loving every second of it.
