Re: Fancy German formula, never heard of it. You should tell her that if she really wants to make sure it's legit, she should go to Germany herself to pick it up. She can ask the Germans about their thoughts on palm oil too.
Judgey McJudgerson. I'm so tired of the formula/food shaming. Or BFing shaming, bc you can't do that right either.
I know about that formula. I'm on an uppity NYC FB group and they allllllll use that formula and have it imported in. It's a cult. So bizarre.
Does it ever seem like some people are just looking for ways to throw money away? I guess I can't wrap my head around importing milk. Seriously.
Now I have to google this.
From what I have seen discussed, Europe has different restrictions than the U.S.. I believe it has something to do with sweeteners. I really can't remember.
I may or may not be crying happy tears. I will pay this man all the money just to get the snow off my roof. Today we found leakage spots on our bedroom ceiling, E's ceiling and the kitchen (in addition to the spot it was already leaking).
We take spare clothes to dc. Cadence is wearing someone else's clothes.
This is just like when I take her diaper off and they have clearly used someone else's diaper cream on her. (Hers is clear, this one is white)
Why do they ask us to bring things if they don't give a shit and are going to do whatever they want?
That would annoy the hell out of me. If they're just going to use everything as communal, they might as well just charge more and provide the stuff themselves.

Our DC does the same thing... It's so annoying. Last week one day V was wearing a size 2T ninja turtle t-shirt when I picked her up. Not even from a kid in her room. I took it off and changed her into her clothes and gave it back to the teacher and she said "oh, it isn't yours?"

The worst is the diaper cream. Cadence's skin seems to react to everything except aquaphor. The dc teachers keep telling me Aquaphor is vaseline and not diaper cream. Well it is what WORKS for her!!!
He said we had 5 feet of snow on the parts of the roof that H wasn't able to reach and were in serious danger of it collapsing, especially with the rain coming this weekend. He said if they hadn't been able to shovel the entire thing (for safety reasons), he was going to tell me that we need to sleep in a hotel.
He also charged us less $$ for doing the job than any other company quoted us.
I want to wring that other roofer's neck for never showing up and leaving us in that kind of danger.
Edit: My feels aren't about the name actually. I like it and I like that it dissociates what we're doing here from "Let's all say f you to the bump" to "Let's continue this awesome thing we have going". It's the possibility of ad generated revenue and being a captive audience to same that I have an issue with, when that's not what I came here under the auspices of... make sense? Rambling? Feed face before feels Kelly.
ladystrat, I don't know. We'll need to have someone come after all of the snow and ice melts and see what kind of damage there is. We may also need to have a mold company come out to confirm if we have any issues.
For now, the best anyone can tell us is that the roof isn't going to collapse from the weight. We're still likely to have more leaking, though.
Hi lovelies. kellykinns I have leather shoes, we just won't be buying any additional leather or shearling items. We'll use what we already have though. I don't hate your boots. I do hate what happens to the sheep, it's very sad how they're treated. They aren't just shorn gently while they're being petted and snuggled in a meadow, but I don't want to go into details. It would be very disturbing for people to read.
Guys, I just got done looking at a registry for my friend who is having twins. Just ONE of the registries. Now, she's having twins so there's going to be a lot of stuff. But 604 items? And a whole lot of cutesy and not enough essentials. She's been a little nuts since she found out she's pregnant...but what in the world are you going to do with 8 bathtubs!?!?!
Still sick here, but we braved the frigid temps to get the heck out of the house for a grocery store and coffee run. Making a big pot of matzoh ball soup tonight and a ton of Jell-o. They're the only things that tastes good on my throat.
Glad the roofers made it to you, @ljgs. ggandlee, I love pot pie and I always forget how comforting and delish it is. Enjoy!! Stay warm!!

8 bathtubs?! WTH? Maybe she just picked a bunch of stuff and forgot to narrow it down?
I'm really hoping that's the case. She also has 6 swings, 8 carseats, and 6 bouncers.
She only has 3 (small) sets of bottles on there. But two of those Brezza formula mixers though. Priorities.

Sounds like she needs to go back through and clean up the registry. I will say, though, I didn't register for many bottles cause I didn't want a bunch of bottles my child would refuse. I went and bought a couple of individual ones and then bought a larger package once I knew what she liked.
kellykinns I am good with the ad revenue. Some people have put in a lot of time, talent, and treasure even into what this is just right now. I want them to be compensated for that. Plus they were talking about having several articles a week so I would think there are going to be content writers to compensate as well as all the ongoing administration of the site, bank and legal fees and taxes due.
I think they are being responsible and conscious about it and they want to donate part of the ad space to non profits.

This is a very good point. I guess looking back, I just had a few small packs on my registry too until I figured out what worked.
I think I may have expected to see more based on the overzealous nature of the other items. I'm thinking maybe she just forgot to delete.
Which is dangerous in a way, bc from my understanding over 100 people will be at her shower.
I have to pick out new glasses Monday. I hate picking our new frames. Hate it. Limited time to pick out something that is going to sit on your face for years.
I love picking out new glasses. I like to try different styles.

Omg this would drive me crazy. It's none of their business what you choose to use as diaper cream, you are paying them to use whatever the hell you tell them to use!

This happens so often at my DC. Sometimes he is clearly wearing someone else's diaper when I know he still has plenty left.
We send 2 extra outfits in on Monday and take them home on Friday (assuming he doesn't need a change which he rarely does anymore). Last Friday, my husband did the pick up and the bag was overflowing... I looked in and it seems they put most of the boys' clothes in his bag (there are only 4 boys in his class, and it was a LOT of clothes, like 10 outfits!).
We are often the last pick up in his room. A few weeks ago there was only 1 coat and hat left. Not his. We had to wear it home for the night and bring it back in the next day. Turns out it was a 3 way switch with the boys! Everyone had the wrong coat!

Whaaaaaat? So parents took the wrong coat? Don't they know their own kids coat! I will say once I picked up C from the infant room and there was another mom picking up here baby and someone had taken her car seat!
C's old daycare was always losing and mixing up stuff, his new one is great though!
I think what happened on the coat is that the first pick up was by a babysitter, b/c I know that family and the mom was out of town on business. So she picked up the wrong coat. Then the next one to pick up just grabbed a different one, etc.
But what's annoying is there are only 4 boys in the class. And there are hooks with our kids' names on it. Couldn't the teacher have helped the babysitter to make sure?
This is definitely an issue at the DC, BUT they love on my kid so much that I let it slide. I figure I could find another one that might be more/better organized, but might lack some of the care and personal touch this one has.
