Hi everyone, question for you on breast size. Before being pregnant and be I was a solid a+\b- boob.  With DS I bf'd for 14 months and other than initial engorgement never really got above a b+\c-

Well now I'm a week pp and I *think* the majority of the engorgement has passed and I'm definitely at least a d cup.  I'm fairly annoyed because that means the many nursing tanks I bought are too tight and bothering my boobs something fierce.  Any thoughts on how long I should wait to order something bigger? Is there hope my boobs will go back down still? 

Fwiw my milk came in fully on day two so I really do think I've ran the gamut of engorgement at this point.

For me things definitely stabilized within the first month but I waited until week 8 to go for a nursing bra fitting. I was a dd pre pregnancy and am up several sizes now. In the meantime I got by with the Bravado body silk - I love this bra. It stretched to mostly hold everything in during the engorgement days and is very supportive for a non-underwire.

For nursing camis, I am giving up on the clasp ones with a shelf bra. I wanted to like the Target ones but I had to go up a few sizes for my boobs to fit and now they are so loose in the stomach that it looks sloppy and I still have more cleavage than I am comfortable with. I am now going for non shelf bra camis that are really stretchy that will just pull down when it is time to nurse. (Found some at costco 2/$10)

I guess my strategy is to go for things that will allow room for fluctuation.

I got fitted for good, real bras well after my supply regulated (at about 4m or so). At that point, I was up 4 cup sizes from my pre-baby size (from 32D to 32H). By a year pp, I was down 2 cup sizes but still up 2 from my normal.

You'll proabalby fluctuate quite a bit for the next few weeks, but I'd guess you might be at that size for a while. I'd get a couple cheapies for comfort.

+1 for Bravado and I also like the non-underwire, sort of soft cup nursing bras at Target that come in S/M/L etc. I'm the same size as you. 34B pre-preg, went up to 34C pregnant, 34D/36C+ immediately post-partum, and now back at 34C. I started out in medium for nursing tanks and moved back down to small within a couple months ... maybe 2? 3 at most? I think it had more to do with losing the pregnancy weight than anything. I still wear a medium in bras that are not band/cup sizes.

I would wait it out a little longer. I'd get something easy for the beginning, and then worry about what size you are when you're ready to start dressing like a real person again.

I'd wait at least until you're 4-6 weeks PP given how many growth spurts there are between now and then. In the meantime, you could get a couple of the Bravado tanks (not the Target version), as they're pretty supportive and forgiving size wise.

FWIW, I was a D before LO. A DD while nursing and now I'm a C. But I'm also 10 pounds lighter then before LO. Even though I lost all the weight quickly, I didn't drop to a C until I started slowly weaning around 12 mounths.

Thanks for the suggestions. I got a bit desperate tonight and I'm now using an old Bella band as a bra. At least it kind of holds everything together and some nursing pads.

Still holding out hope for my lovely nursing tanks. Sigh......
