How old is LO? 1 week 6 days

How's everything going? Pretty good, had a weight check yesterday. The doctor wanted he to be back at his birth weight 8lb 1 oz by then. He was 8 lb 7 oz!!! That was a relief, I always second guess how it's going but having a great weight gain is soo reassuring.

Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? Tried to have H give DS2 a bottle before bed last night, it did not go well. We'll have to keep trying, I really would like to have at least that one feeding a day that I'm not responsible for just for a little break.

Doing good, still light bleeding. So ready for that to be done.

If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH?
Only pumping once a day right now first thing in the morning. I won't go back to work unril the middle of August.

GTKY: what was your favorite hobby pre-children
Reading, I LOVE books, but I haven't read a book since being pregnant with DS1. Just can't seem to find the time anymore.

@lillybilly yay for good weight gain! Good job!

Generally recommended to wait until after nursing is well established (6-8 weeks) to intro a bottle or at least until after the 3 week growth spurt.

Very important to do paced feeding so the bottle feed mimics the breastfeed, lowering chances of bottle preference and overfeeding.

All that said, this has some great tips on getting baby to accept bottle:

You can try offering 0.5-1oz in a bottle then finishing with a breastfeed. Or breastfeeding a little and finishing with the bottle.

If baby takes a bottle instead of nursing, you must pump at that time so your supply doesn't suffer.
