AW: My bean is 1 today! So many emotions.

Guys - our sweet girl is 1 today.



I'm so thankful she's here! I'm so happy she's ours!
I have so many feels today. Oh my gosh. So many detailed memories of the day, her arrival late at night, the following days of feeling so safe and secure in the hospital, tucked in during a crazy snowstorm.

I feel a bit overwhelmed today.
She changed our lives, she changed our story, she changed everything.
She ended our infertility journey, she ended our history of loss.
I'm SO grateful for her.
I'm so grateful for our docs, for the support we received from friends and family.
And I'm so grateful for this community's (former IVFer, TTCALers, PAIFers and on and on)support and encouragement and resources.

Did you guys all have these too when you passed this milestone?

Happy birthday to your LO!! I sobbed on both of my kids' first bdays. I was just so happy to have them and sad at the same time that they were already 1.

Congrats on making it through the first year bzeetyd,
I had SO many emotions on my little one's first birthday. I sat rocking her forever the night before feeling so blessed! And then the actual day of her bday - I felt sad that she was already one!

But from 1-2 has been SO amazing! Such a fun, fun year watching her become this little person

I was told by a grandma one day that the days are long but the years are short. I have found that to be so true. DS1 will be 5 in 2 months. I get choked up thinking about it. How did we get to 5?! I think I'll be emotional for every bday.

I cried on their first bday. I cried on their second. I'll probably cry in their third. I'm so happy for each phase and genuinely enjoy their changing personalities, but a part of me is so sad it's going by so fast. I'll forever be grateful for them and the people that helped me bring them into this world.

AWww! She is adorable! Congrats! I cried buckets on J's first birthday. I tell her every night as part of our bedtime routine, how much I love being her mommy. She brought the sun back to my life and the fun back to my soul.

The first year is awesome, but oh wow, this next year you are in for a treat! High five...way to go!

I got choked up just thinking that my LO will be one in only six short weeks. It goes by way too fast. Everyone tells you that there isn't anything like it. But, it's true. And, nothing can make you understand it until you become a parent.

Happy birthday LO! I do feel sad that time seems to fly, but then I find great delight in milestones like when he gets a joke or does a big boy thing - the second year is just as great. Enjoy those feelings!

My LO's first birthday was extremely emotional for me for a variety of reasons. In fact I was overcome with tears and had to walk away when lighting her birthday candles. I thought about her premature birth, her very difficult start where parenting was extremely challenging and how far we had come as a family in those 12 months.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments and birthday wishes! Mister D and I reread the text message from that day and looked at lots of old pics and videos of our sweetie. I cried and he did too, it was good. Now more adventures await!

bzeetyd, That just made me cry! I can't believe your LO is 1 already! She is absolutely precious. I too felt overwhelmed what our DD turned 1. We were just about to start another cycle. That cycle was probably going to be our last one. We were coming to the terms of possibly being 1 and done.
