This morning we made gingerbread play dough. It is good for measuring and following directions but best of all - it's fun! It smells amazing. I think cinnamon is one of the most comforting smells! The girls were playing with it for a while. Now they are on to something else. They are so excited this week! Tonight the whole family is going to do the bulk of our holiday grocery shopping = not so exciting.
Tomorrow is N's 5th birthday. This is unfathomable to me and H (especially when I see it written). We've been parents for 5 years already?? 5 years ago my water broke unexpectedly today (at 10pm). She was due Jan 7th. 😲
Bonus: I read this and thought it was brilliant. The woman said that bc she did the bulk of the holiday (gift) shopping and preparing she treated herself to a gift while she was out. BRILL! I may look at my pandora gift stash and pick out one of the cheaper ones to treat myself for this month of craziness!
Hello! A few quick errands today and now s is watching a show and it's lunch and naptime. Hopefully I can get a few things done like washing windows in the car and getting it cleaned out. Finish getting presents wrapped and packed up for the car. Nothing thrilling.
Honestly I am terrible at treating myself. A solo trip to the store feels like treat.

Realized this morning that our library books were almost a week overdue, so I gathered them up - but of course can’t find one - and went out in the rain to return them. Then to DH’s office for adjustments & he took us out to lunch. Got everything ready to wrap gifts and then G woke an hour early from nap sobbing that he had a bad dream. So we wrapped DH’s gifts and cleaned the living room instead.
In the process of wrapping gifts. Found a box from Amazon of toys that I'd ordered for the gift drive a group I'm in does. Doh. And I missed the deadline for Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army. I'm just going to stash them away for next year or gifts for friends' kids. It was just a couple things anyway.
One of my coworkers is pregnant. H and I are NTNTGP, but he's been so sick with a cold and his neck pain that it's a lot of NT. Occupational health is finally referring him for treatment 2 weeks and OPP massages later.
I do fancy coffee drinks and chocolate to treat myself. My waistline would like it if I did that less often.
