I woke up this morning to light pink spotting. I'm sure it's normal... everyone says it's common because so many things are stretching and pulling and whatnot, and so many women experience it and go on to have perfectly healthy babies... but I'm freaking the hell out. I'm going to call and see if I can do another beta tomorrow morning to see how it compares to yesterday. PLEASE let this be normal pregnancy spotting!
Spotting sucks! As things aren't already emotional enough!
Are you using any kind of vaginal progesterone? That is definitely known to cause spotting.

Yes, I'm on Endometrin 3x a day. I'm switching to PIO when it gets here tomorrow though, because my progesterone had been on the low end with each beta.

Hopefully the PIO gives you some peace of mind. One thing to remember is that other progesterone sups do not show in bloodwork, so try not to stress about the P levels, they are likely just fine
Spotting is super common, I know that doesn't help how you feel! FX its nothing, and keep us posted!

Looks like I'm out. I went to the ER yesterday even though everyone I talked to and everything I read on the internet said that it's probably nothing. Sure enough, my HCG dropped from 128 on Wednesday to 75 yesterday. They also couldn't find anything on the ultrasound. I knew this was too good to be true.

Thank you so much, ladies.
My HCG went back up to 101 today, so now they're concerned that I'm not actually miscarrying, but dealing with ectopic. They say it's too soon to tell (they "couldn't rule it out" on the ultrasound), but we'll compare numbers again on Monday. It's also been mentioned that I could have lost a twin, but one is still growing, but with an HCG level of only 101 at five weeks, I know that can't possibly be the case.

I'm so sorry. I hope they're monitoring you closely, because if it is ectopic things can change quickly. I'm really sorry this is happening to you, and hope that you get some resolution sooner than later. (((((Hugs))))

I don't know how I've missed this thread for a whole week, but I just wanted to say I'm so sorry you are going through this.
I don't want to give you false hope - but 5 weeks is VERY early to see anything on an ultrasound machine, and if you went to the ER, they don't always have the best equipment. I had my first ultrasound at 6w4d at a radiology department nearby (I wasn't able to go to my RE at the time) and they could barely find anything - and we saw a HB that day. My RE told me not to freak out if we didn't see much because people who don't do ultrasounds all of the time aren't always the best at seeing things so early on and the equipment is not always great. Plus, ERs are supposed to be horrible for early pregnancy stuff from stories I've heard.
Also, as for the betas - I've heard that you should always have the betas drawn at the same lab for consistency. I'm not sure if you went to different places because of the ER? And it is possible, like they said, that you lost a twin.
I'll continue to send good thoughts your way and in the mean time, keep taking your meds and be kind to yourself. Hopefully you will know one way or another soon.
