So busy today. We’re house swapping with my parents for the weekend. My college bffs are coming in for our annual Christmas celebration, and we’ve officially outgrown my house. 6 adults and 3 kids.
Hope the Christmas celebration is going well lilyelayne!
It snowed! I'm so happy! This place is bustling today!
We went to a dinosaur expo last night. V had a blast. He was loving all of it. He was super nervous around the baby dinos but he pet them all, I was proud of him.
Today DH is working without pay, so I expect him to be in a super lousy mood tonight. I'm hoping to have some good news about an reward from work to share and brighten the evening, but I need confirmation from my boss first, who is put on the slopes, lol.
This morning we had 5 and 3 year professional pictures. They came out pretty good. There are some pretty sweet ones. Then we went to a yummy place for lunch. Now we are just hanging out at home. I'm doing some online research into bedroom sets and getting overwhelmed. Need a break! No plans for tomorrow and I hate that on the weekend (feels like a waste).

We survived the funeral. It was really nice. My mom ended up not having his brother talk about my dad, but the pastor did a good job. I got a copy of the memorial service my dad's other church did (he was a member of 2 churches and attended both every week). Two of my cousins attended and two of his siblings came. One sister didn't travel from CA because she's wheelchair bound and she skipped both of her parents funerals and her other younger brother's funeral. I'm annoyed his other sister didn't come down because she has a cold.
I did a cursory walk around his house since I'm not allowed to throw things away yet. For all my mom and sister telling me there's nothing valuable in the house, I took family photos my mom let behind, a necklace my grandmother gave me, 2 silver chalice, and several books including one my grandfather wrote that's out of print. I told my mom that when my sister is ready to clear out the house I'll come down and help.
We ended the week on a high note with a trip to Disneyland. One day was plenty. We didn't do many rides traveling at the speed of a toddler who refused to ride in the stroller (and therefore didn't nap). But he got to meet Pluto, Donald, Trigger, Eeyore, and Rabbit. We saw Pooh, but he went on break before we could meet him and we decided to skip the line for Mickey. It was a fun time.
H feel asleep while in was getting DS to sleep. So our bottle of wine and our pack of beer will be flying home with us. I tried to wake him up, but he's sawing logs.
Hola! So far it's been a lovely weekend in the Aggie house. Nothing particular just relaxing, quality family time. We introduced S to uno yesterday and she loved it. It's basically matching so she picked up on it quick, of course she is just playing with one of us at the moment still a lot of fun.

We gave V uno Moo for Christmas, its the first game we game introduced him to. He loves it and I was thinking he's probably do just fine with the card game. Have you played other games with S?
What do you guys do when your kids start being naughty right before bedtime or in the middle of your bedtime rotine?
V was on one last night right before we started bedtime and so, figuring he was tired we just put him straight to bed. But then of course he couldn't settle down and was up for another hour. Usually we just say something right after he hits or whatever then go right past it with our process.
seamonster I'm glad it went reasonably well. kartish we will say no books and straight to bed if they act up during bedtime. I'm not opposed to issuing a time out as well! But the books thing usually hits them hard enough. aggiebug I'm glad to hear this. I got a uno dice game for A for part of her birthday presents and I was hoping it wouldn't be too difficult.
For kartish we play a lot of games: sequence junior (a favorite) candyland (simple colors) hi ho cherrio (simple counting) cooperative games by the company Peaceable Kingdom (we love these to teach about being less competitive as everyone works toward the same goal and we all win or all lose) hungry hungry hippo pretty pretty princess Memory games are hit or miss. Some are hard if they have a lot of peices. Puzzles Bunko Go Fish (we have a Nemo one)
kartish with S just getting to the age or games we don't have much. We do have count your chicken by peaceable kingdom it's cooperative and a memory game she loves. Saw a link of games for this age and uno was on there, made me go well huh didn't think about her being ready for that!
I want to get her a go fish game, we still need pictures to help as she isn't solid identifying numbers on playing cards but I know she would do great at that. She also loves where's Waldo books so I think zingo or something similar will be fun (I am thinking this for Easter)
