Hi ladies! I've been meaning to check back in here. Thanks for the ping aggiebug! The end of last year was pretty rough with everything that was going on - I was doing SO MANY interviews (and getting so many rejections) plus the stress of being unemployed coming into the Holiday season, plus the never ending kitchen renovation that was adding even more financial stress - I was pretty miserable. Actually, I was extremely miserable. But, I did end up finding a job in December and things have finally settled down. I took a little pay cut but its in NJ - only a 20 minute commute instead of my near hour and 15 into the city, so I think it was a win!
dreemkin, Hope you are staying warm and don't have any snow related issues!
dmorgendorffer sorry to hear about the rough winter. Glad you found a job, awesome that it's so close. Hopefully things are going better for you now, mood wise and financially.
We are taking V to a local bounce house tonight with a couple of his friends, hopefully it doesn't get too crazy. This weekend will be quiet after today, I'm looking forward to it.
Long day of travel with a big delay due to a scary wreck (we didn’t see it but were maybe a handful of minutes behind) but we’re at the condo! Already took the first beach walk and now watching bedtime Paw Patrol.
dreemkin how was the snow day? dmorgendorffer glad you got a job closer to home, and I hope life is less miserable now
dmorgendorffer I'm sorry you had a rough end of the year. Hopefully the start to this one is going well! Congrats on the job! Nice to hear from you!
We are pretty snowy here. Plows didn't come down our street until 3pm so H stayed home. It snowed all day long and it was pretty to watch knowing that I didn't need to go out in it. Probably one of the worst snow storms in a while that I can remember. It's supposed to snow on and off for the next couple days too. We made paper snowflakes in honor of the snow day. Here are some pics off of my backyard deck and our flakes!
dmorgendorffer I am so glad to hear from you. Truly you've been missed. Sorry the end of the year was so rough, so much going on. I am glad you have a new job and it's closer to home! You like it so far? Is it similar to your old job? Can we see pictures of your kitchen?
I went to Michael's to get supply to make N's Valentine's this year - tootsie pop butterflies. Ended up paying more $ than if I just bought them but she'll have fun making them the next couple days. Plus we'll have lots of supplies left over for future crafts. It's snowing some more today - three to four more inches ugh!
H is having car trouble and now the power steering light is on after jumping it in the garage. So tomorrow it will have to be towed. Depending on how extensive the issues are we might have to buy a new vehicle (his is 11 years old). We think we are going to take the minivan plunge. We were researching the Chrysler Pacifica and Kia Sadona bc they are more what we want to pay for what you get IYKWIM. Any recommendations? Do you have a mini van? I am familiar with the old dodge caravan bc I inherited it from my parents as a teenager/college student haha. So I know that vans drive pretty well but I'm concerned with going back to such a large vehicle after my hyundai Santa fe. The Pacific is winning right now bc of seat configs and potential ease of getting into the third row if we bring our parents along.

dreemkin I have a Honda Odyssey and I love it so much. Make sure you look for top tethers in the third row if you think you’ll have a forward facing car seat back there- many third row vehicles have one or none it was an easy transition from my sedan to the minivan.
Car Seats for the Littles says no Town & Country, Grand Caravan, or VW Routan because the third row seatbelts are mounted strangely and don’t work with boosters or adult riders.
dreemkin do you for sure want a mini van? I like our Routan, but like lilyelayne said, the back seat there is only one tether. Which so far is not an issue, but may be in the future.
It's quiet at work today, and I'd like to work late to get done things done. But I also have a bunch to do at home to get ready for Tuesday, so I guess I'll see if DH works OT before I decide.
aggiebug would you be able to help me with something?! I noticed on my dog this like piece of his gums lower between his two teeth. Is this something to be concerned about? Or do you know what it is? I've been watching it for a couple weeks and it doesn't change or seem to bother him unless I'm poking at it and then it seems like more of annoyance than pain for him. It might be getting slightly bigger bit it's hard to tell. Here's a pic:
kartish we've been thinking about a minivan for a while so I think this is our time to pull the plug haha. Actually H is pushing for it more than me surprisingly, but I am getting excited about the idea of a flat bottom (with the stow n go seats on Pacifica), all the space, and being able to take 6 people with me! Thanks for your input. I was originally thinking of a minivan alternative because they are overall smaller. I'm losing that fight with myself and H, the more we research. Plus we don't usually do city driving where it's beneficial to have a smaller vehicle.

It looks like it is most likely just gingival hyperplasia or excess gum. It's generally not a problem, if he gets a dental cleaning they would likely trim it back otherwise I wouldn't bother it.
dreemkin i also have an odyssey and i LOVE it. true love. IMO it's way too expensive for what it is, but there is really no other vehicle i want for this stage in life, so oh well. i have the 2018 elite and there are so many awesome features! look at the sliding row seats. i know you said you like the stow n go seats in the pacifica (and i agree that they're pretty awesome - i wish honda would do that!), but i plan to push the two 2nd row seats together in the middle once C is out of the crying in the car seat stage. sometimes i have to get in the middle 2nd row seat to calm her down right now, but once that's over, we'll push the girls next to each other and getting to the third row will be a breeze. plus the girls will like being together, and having them pushed together is super safe!
