Sick today. Woke up with a headache, congestion, and a killer sore throat probably from nasal drip during the night. I want to rip it out (but not literally like that girl that gouged her own eyes out ::shutters:: ) I'm forgoing grocery shopping until further notice. Dropping N off for totschool though because I couldn't break her little heart.

1st day home with both kids alone. Not planning to go anywhere today but tomorrow on , will make mini trips out. Eek!
Please send ideas for things to do with a toddler at home—- we packed up the play doh (dumb, may need to buy some more) & most of the artsy stuff... ugh. But I will go to michaels at some point

Our power came back on around 10pm last night, DH and I had just gotten into bed. Happy that is back on, but it is annoying that we couldn't do the usual weekend chores like the mountain of laundry - especially since J keeps pooping all over her clothes. My ILs are also coming to visit, arriving on Thursday so we're going to have busy evenings at home.
Since we were going stir crazy at home we ended up going to the library for a while and they were having a book sale. I ended up going back on Sunday - $8 for all the books you could fit in a grocery bag so I got a whole bunch of books for the girls.

2mrsks (mrs&mrsk) I used this all the time with E when I was on leave last summer: Crayola Color & Erase Mat Could sit on the floor with her and color while J was in the bouncy seat or next to us doing tummy time. I think being able to erase the mat made it hold her attention longer than regular coloring or painting.
Hi I am home, got back yesterday afternoon and whoa. My sinus infection is killing me, I may have to go to the Dr soon and C can't keep anything down he is soooooooo thirsty but I am trying to only let him sip every few minutes to hopefully keep stuff down. He's gotta keep something in soon or we are going to be dehydrated. It also makes it hard to catch up on laundry. But we are dealing with this at home and not at a hotel or on the road so I an thankful.
2mrsks (mrs&mrsk) how are you feeling? G’s favorite independent play activities these days Indoor: fill the bathroom sink with water and give him bath toys or little cups to practice pouring, popping bubble wrap, blocks (we have bristle blocks & magformers available), washing the windows (spray bottle of water & a soft cloth), pushing the swiffer around Outdoor: soccer ball, using a bowl of water & large paintbrush to “paint” the deck, sidewalk chalk on the concrete especially hopscotch, practicing spitting
And of course Mario Kart on the Nintendo or anything on his tablet.

Thanks everyone! I’m doing well just trying to get in a groove while minimizing “screentime” Looks like nap isn’t happening for r..., will see if that changes in a while from boredom Did I mention I have no cable or real internet? Been down since the storm Wednesday... I could be binge watching tv lol

Dollar Tree is my goto place for art supplies. Plus it makes DS so happy when I let him get a random object.
Things to do: Puzzles Dress up Let the toddler help make meals (let him hack away at a carrot with a butter knife) or play with your kitchen Blanket tent Pretend to be at the beach inside Stuffed animal picnic Make sick puppets and have him put on a show
Tired from my weekend of oncall and coming in to people saying they would have made different decisions and they don't mind calls on the weekend. Don't know what the point is of oncall then. Can't get it through that everything needs to be documented and standardized and not in someone's head.
