I'm like 95% sure I had this for our FET. I've had 3 or 4 of them and they are my least favorite experience in the whole IVF pantheon. Have you had it before?
First of all I'm so sorry you think this cycle is a bust. The pain of a failed cycle is so awful and I hate this for you.
I did have the endometrial scratch done. Dr. Sch recommended it because he said my uterus made him "paranoid" because I had put many day 5 good looking blasts back with lots of BFNs and also had 4 out of 4 blasts come back as normal after CCS testing. This especially made him think I would be a good candidate for it. It was not pleasant and I took 3 advil before the procedure but honestly it wasn't that bad. My OB did say I must have a high pain tolerance because I didn't respond the way most women do but it lasts for about 45 secs and it's over. I'm sure everyone's experience is different with it but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Sending hugs your way, friend!
I'm not exactly sure. I had after my ER (10/26) but while prepping for the FET. I was still on BCPs and started Lupron the next day. My scratch was 11/20 and FET was 12/18. My nurse did say that they want you to have the scratch before you started meds to thicken your lining for the FET which makes sense.
I also had this done after 2 failed FETs and while waiting for FET #3. I took a cycle off in order to also get some bloodwork results back but I think it could be done while cycling.
TTC ~ May 2010
Unexplained infertility ~ June 2011
3 IUIs, 1 m/c & 1 IVF = a baby boy on 8.18.12
A surprise after 2 failed FETs = baby girl on 11.24.14
I did not have an endometrial scratch with any of my 3 failed FETs. When I inquired about having it with my previous RE, he dismissed the idea. I blame myself for staying with him when I should have either insisted it be done or chosen a different RE right then. I did change clinics because of what I consider neglect and the new RE said he absolutely will do the scratch with my one remaining frostie. The procedure is uncomfortable, though not unbearable, but nothing compared to the emotional pain of a failed cycle. Based on my experience, I would only work with a RE who will do the endometrial scratch. GL.

Formerly MoFree on the other board. TTC since 2008 Diagnosis of Severe MFI 3-2009 IVF#1 Nov 2011, BFP DD born @31 weeks gestation, 6-24-12 FET#1, Nov 2013,, BFN FET#2, Feb 2014, BFN Freeze only cycle with PGD August 2014 FET #3 another BFN FET canceled due to cysts FET #4 Dec 2015, BFP Baby Boy born 8-28-16 via VBAC
Mine was done the cycle before my FET, as I was told it was the healing from the scratch that could make a difference. Unfortunately, it didn't make a difference in my case as that FET was unsuccessful, my FET 2 months later was successful though so I'm not sure if it had any impact. Either way, my RE definitely saw value in it and it was only slightly uncomfortable in the grand scheme of things. Sorry that your FET didn't work and good luck with the next cycle.
