My DCF homestudy interview is next Thursday...

Our licensing social worker contacted us to make our interview appointments and mine is next week (my hubby's is the following week). She's been to our house once so far, but we just sat in the dining room and talked about some general things. She said each interview will be at least 2 hours long, and she will also interview our kids alone while she's there, too.

My husband asked me if I was nervous for the interview and I was surprised by the question because it never occurred to me to be nervous. Should I be?! LOL  j/k

I am curious to find out what types of questions she's going to ask. I know we're going to talk about my background... childhood/upbringing, relationships with my family and all that kind of stuff. What other kind of stuff can I expect her to ask about? I'm so impatient! LOL

Did you fill out a gigantic questionnaire about all that stuff already? Basically our SW just talked with us about all those questions for more detail and clarification.

That is exciting for you! Our SW just left from our first family interview. I had my individual interview last week, and like PP said she basically reviews what you put on the checklist. Our interview tonight was reviewing what our family life is like. What our daily routines look like. About our house, size, location to schools and parks etc. she also asked about extended family involvement, vacations and hobbies, our dog etc. One thing that did come up that we hadn't thought about yet was planning a will and who would be named a guardian in the event of our deaths. DH has his meeting next week and then our joint meeting Thursday evening. We will have our final meeting and she said she would meet with DS at that visit. GL with your appointment tomorrow! I'm sure it will be great!

Good luck! Our social worker said the only time she has reservations about a perspective adoptive parent I'd when it seems like they don't really want to adopt. (Like the wife does, the husband doesn't).
Exciting....one step closer!

Good luck! We had the same experience of just essentially clarifying answers on the paperwork we already had filled out.

Our SW did the same thing. WE had already filled out a question sheet and she just went into more detail about it. Nothing to be nervous about!
