Laser therapy for back pain anyone?

Hello,
I suffer from severe back pain. I always feel a stabbing amount of pain in the middle of the night and it becomes unbearable and after waking up I can't even sleep properly. I have heard a little bit about laser therapy and how it can help ease the pain. I thought of undergoing laser therapy treatment from Toronto and wait for it to work its magic. Is it true that neck, back or joint pain usually responds quickly to laser therapy? Also, is this the only treatment that has to be done? Should I start physio too? Has anyone of you tried laser therapy? If you have, please do share your experience.
