J had his one month appointment yesterday. I made it with 2 minutes to spare... 2 minutes before the 20 minute late policy would’ve cancelled my appointment. I hate being late. It was one thing after another trying to get the kids out the door. But he’s growing beautifully! Then he slept through my hair appointment, woohoo.
DH said he bought a lot of clothes on prime day. I didn’t find anything, but I did get two chairs for the living room online from target’s big sale.
lilyelayne I hate being late too but sh*t happens sometimes! You have a newborn! Did you mean that you read to DH or G at night? You could try doing it in your room one night and see if J wakes up.
Busy days here. Lots of driving around rural areas today. We went to a little local winery, a jersey cow dairy barn, and swimming. The girls are very tired from swimming everyday since we are not used to that. I am having to learn to slow down as it is very fast paced in the Chicago area and here it is veeeery slow paced. Also, a lot of people seem to stare...maybe it's just me?? Overall, people are very friendly here and it's beautiful. We're having a good time.

dreemkin glad the trip is going well! I love finding out the cultural differences between where I live and where I visit. I meant reading to DH. I sent him a few books to pick from so we can figure it out.
lilyelayne being late is so easy with little ones. It's good you made the appointment though.
Yesterday was a little mad. I was home with the boys, cleaning and prepping for company, half of which cancelled on me. Then did the shopping for the week solo, which ended with V in timeout and me pulling my hair out. And WFH while the boys napped then putting up peach jam before company came over.
Today I'm at work just for a meeting, that got cancelled ten minutes ago. Sigh. But I can get a couple things done then head home.
DH is taking me out to dinner and to see Phantom of the Opera to night for my birthday. I'm super excited to see the show, it's one of our favorites.
lilyelayne you made it though! I consider that a win. A newborn and 3 year old is no joke.
dreemkin I love you are having such a wonderful week. Y'all deserve it after a rough week of sickness
kartish ugh those days are so hard. I almost lost it yesterday with S, getting her to clean up anything was horrible. You for Phantom! What an excellent birthday present, enjoy 😊
Not a ton here. We are home, I am starting to wade through the disaster that is our home. Then again we are having carpet replaced in all the bedrooms soook the disaster will continue.

Yesterday we went on a boat tour (the only one in the state) of Lost River Cave. This place has a lot of history and it was a really neat way to experience a cave. It was also a valley so we were able to walk some trails, see "Blue Holes", and spend some time at a nature play area they had. Then in the afternoon we went on a walking tour of mammoth cave. The girls were getting a kick out of it being a "two cave day". Again some interesting info and history on the tour. And I can't believe how big the cave system (the biggest known in the world) and forest preserve are. Beautiful and special - so glad our country was smart enough to implement and maintain a national park program.
dreemkin DH and I started the same thing for lent a few years ago. We kept it up till V was born but with his work schedule changes since then and bedtime with the boys, we never got back in to it. I miss that habit.
My mom took G to the aquarium thurs afternoon. It’s about 1.5 hour away so I got the whole afternoon big kid free, and then I spent a chunk of it on the phone with our health insurance getting some things straightened out 🙄
It’s DH’s birthday, and I realized I don’t have anything for the boys to give him. Honestly I don’t have a present for him to unwrap because I told him I was getting him new shoes & he didn’t pick them to order until Wednesday. Blah. Having all the ILs and my parents over for supper to celebrate. We’re picking up bbq and I outsourced cake making to my MIL, and I cleaned 80% of the house yesterday.
