So glad it's Friday. Ready for the weekend. I think we are going to an air show tomorrow which will be hot, loud and fun. Sunday we have a lot of church stuff going on, church is weird right now.
Not sure what is in store for us today. We need to get our of the house for sure after all day inside yesterday.
Today is my dog's 9th birthday! I was going to make a dog cake but I don't have a few ingredients. He might just get a tiny bite of dinner. We never feed him (human food) so that would be quite the treat for him.
Yesterday I took Anna to the zoo and it made N jealous. Teaching moments. I think we are going to go to dinner tonight as I am tired of meal planning and cooking. We need a change of scenery too. Tomorrow is up in the air. H and I have different ideas on what to do.
What's with the soap cutting viral thing? It doesn't seem memorizing to me as I just keep thinking, "oh Lordy, they are gonna slice their finger with that sharp blade!" What do you guys think?! Is it satisfying to you?

On saturday when I can sleep in, I got woken up at 5:50 by A singing Shake It Off on the top of her lungs over and over again. And of course I couldn't fall back asleep...
Been a rough week here. Everyone is feeling poorly enough to be grumpy, but not really beyond that. A had his 18 month check up and shots and he's been very wakeful at night the past two nights since.
Work has been busy but I'm starting to notice my two new bosses are really relying on me to gauge how the budget process is going. So I need to up my game today so I can come to Sunday's meeting prepared for questions.
A just woke up and first thing he says is this? This? He may only have three words but he has a favorite.
Biscuits are in the oven & im chilling on the couch with the boys while G has his morning screentime. He really into Knack2 on the PlayStation. Sort of amazing to watch him play a non touch screen video game so well.
I’m struggling today. Yesterday at work a client was stabbed in our waiting room. The guy then jumped over the front counter and glass partition into the secure area of the office. There were staff in the area but luckily he didn’t go after any of them. He stood around shouting for a bit. A few people plus security were talking with him and trying to calm him down. I was busy trying to get everyone out of the office. The police showed up really quick since there was one right across the street. She came in quickly and took him down at gun point. The whole thing is just surreal. I couldn’t sleep last night. My brain just won’t shut off.
mishka29 I am so sorry, what a terrible thing. I'm glad you are ok. I hope you can get some sleep tonight. Do you have someone to talk with or can you take some time to yourself to help you process everything?
Yesterday we went to the lake again because it was my parents' week there. My mom was acting especially odd the whole time. Like telling us she doesn't want to host food so eat before we come which is rude. But then asked us to pick up food for them on the way... She also criticized the vest we bring for A saying it was not safe and not coast guard approved when it is. She then took my nephew in to change him and didn't come out for like an hour and a half. She claimed it was too hot to be outside (but it was perfect out with the breeze coming off the lake). Then she acted like the martyr that stayed inside with him... sigh. Needless to say I was glad to be leaving that afternoon.
My mom is too opinionated and always makes it sound like we are bad parents. I try to ignore it because she wants the attention but it's starting to really get to me. It's really obvious stuff like "watch them by the road; a lot of cars go by" when we were heading to the car. H's family never tell us how to parent (bc they don't need to!) so why does my mom have to open her mouth all the time when it is clearly something we do or don't do already.
mishka29. I am so sorry that is an awful situation. I would be like you staying up late replaying it over and over in my head. It sounds like you did an amazing job staying calm under pressure, let yourself process it. Is your work providing anyone to talk to? If so please consider using it, they can help!
lilyelayne thanks it's clear we just haven't found our church home yet. We will, it's just taking a lot longer than hoped. As for my friend the conversation went well. I can tell she is putting in the effort which I appreciate, but it means I am getting a lot of random texts and I am not sure I was ready for that lol. Overall good though just have to find a new balance.

mishka29 that’s awful. Thinking of you as you process and try to move on.
dreemkin sorry your mom ruined your lake day. Things like choosing to stay inside with the baby & then complaining about it would fray my patience SO FAST.
