Yesterday was A's totschool orientation and they are being very understanding of her PT situation which is great. She has a great group of teachers and she's in a different classroom than N was (but some of same teachers). She knows at meast one little boy from our neighborhood and whose brother is in N's class. Hopefully she'll get on board quickly, after seeing it's okay that I leave her for a little bit! 😢
Today N has off of school. She asked to go to the mall so I'm back here haha.
dreemkin yay for A! I am glad you have supportive teachers. We met S's last night too. At first she plastered herself to me and then about 10 minutes later she looked at me and said 'mom why are you still here'. Ha I think she will be just fine.
I am currently tired of parenting. Is H home yet? We are also trying to strap down on our budget to meet savings goals and that is never fun. Good to do? Yes, but not fun. Hopefully it's a very low key 3 day weekend.

Anyone have a secret miracle diaper rash cure? J has a stomach virus which we are really hoping no one else picks up. Despite our best efforts she's also developed a nasty diaper rash. We're currently trying to rinse in the tub instead of using wipes then letting her air dry for a bit before applying copious amounts of diaper cream (the heavy duty 40% zinc stuff) followed but some A&D, but I'm not sure how much any of it is helping though because the rash is still bad. We're also trying to let her have at least a few diaper free hours but the stomach virus is still running its course so that's been difficult. At least it's a long weekend so we have a few days at home to recover.
dmorgendorffer I'm sorry for J. N had a sensitive tush that always had a rash. I used to rinse wipes (no matter how sensitive/natural/alcohol free they said). I would then lather on maximum strength butt paste. The only thing that worked for us! A has had luck with the burts bees ointment too. Then I would also load up on cornstarch or cornstarch based powder (I would stock up at the dollar store). I know doctors can't recommend powder for lung reasons. But cornstarch falls very quickly and if you do it way down away from their face as much as possible, we never had a problem with it. Sometimes you can do everything in the world and the rash won't clear up, especially if it's for a reason, ie being sick, teething. GL and hope it clears up quickly and she feels better
I forgot to add we would sometimes dab flavor free maloxx on her sore spots and let it dry before applying the creams.

Did S re-PT or are you in the same boat as me? It sounds like she'll be fine!
My mom waa taken to the ER this mornin g. I'm not sure what's going on, my stepdad is short on words when he's stressed out. So I need to call in sick and then see if I can find someone to watch the boys so I can go down to the hospital.
@dmorgendoffer we've always had luck with alternating coconut oil and powder, with warm Epsom salt baths a couple of times a day.
I had all these ideas about what I wanted to do this long weekend but I never put anything into place. We might go to an apple farm one day. We were also considering Niagara Falls.

The funeral yesterday was short and nice. The pastor said “before I say the concluding prayer, would anyone like to say a few words?” Of course Gabe piped right up “I would like to say some words!” My chatterbox. I asked what he’d like to say about Grandma & he said “Grandma... I love you.”
As if I weren’t enough of a mess.
Lots of time with family yesterday and today. I squeezed in breakfast with a college friend. Gabe is napping now, then we’re off to see my cousin’s new house. Back home tomorrow.

lilyelayne thanks for asking. All of her testing came back negative (good but weird). So they are just seeing what more healing time brings. I'm glad it was a nice funeral and G did okay.
Yesterday we went out to lunch with my parents and sister for H's birthday (his side lives OOT). And I made peach cobbler for dessert. He loved it!
Tonight we are going to a Ravinia (an popular open air concert arena near me) for an O.A.R concert; one of H's favorites bands. That are amazing live. It was awesome that the concert fell on his bday weekend.
Thanks everyone for the T&Ps, my mom has a nerve impediment, or a inflamed nerve. She's not doing much better yet, but hopefully the steroid she is on starts helping soon. This is the third nerve issue she's had in a less than a year, the other two are currently ongoing. It's a little scary all the stuff that keeps happening to get, I hope they can figure out the root cause soon.
dreemkin have fun on your night or at the concert! Happy birthday to your DH!
lilyelayne what sweet words, G. Glad the funeral went well. You and your family are still in my prayers.
mishka29 hope you are in niagra falls and having a fun weekend!
Concert was good but it was very hot outside. I was dripping sweat. It was nice for it to be just us though. My sister and a friend ended up going too so we walked over to their spot and said hi but otherwise it was just us!! Today is rainy and since we saw all of our family a lot this weekend, we're just gonna chill at home for Labor Day. Hope everyone has a restful day who is celebrating the holiday. Anna's first day of totschool is tomorrow.
kartish yikes. I hope your mom gets some relief soon and an idea of what's going on.
