Hey there! Hope everyone is doing well. Today I cleaned out the kid silverware to pass along to my sister and I kinda got choked up. Dang, they are growing up fast. Although, I do really love some things about having pre-k and up kids. It's a catch 22.
If anyone has to put together Halloween treat bags this year, I found a play dough (edit doh) 50 pack at Costco for $9.99! What a great deal and it covers both my kids classes. I might get another one because birthday treats are right around the corner. I like to give non food things when possible, but it can get expensive. I also found fun pencils at the dollar store for N's class!

J seems like she's fully recovered from her stomach virus so thats good, but for some reason she was miserably cranky last night. I'm guessing teething. DH actually got up at one point last night because I was just over it, and I think that was the first time he's ever gotten up overnight for J.
This morning I was reminded that my commute is about 10x more annoying during the school year. I'm going to have to start getting myself out the door significantly earlier to avoid the buses and drop off traffic. I've been pretty good about either running or doing Yoga in the morning but I also have the habit of getting back in bed and scrolling through twitter for 15 -20 minutes after everyone else leaves so I'm going to need to cut that out.

dmorgendorffer hope tonight is better! DH has been up with J so so much more than he ever was with G. I’m not as generous MOTN as I was with the first kid.

Funny how things can be so different. H helped out a lot more with S than C. He offered but C was so different motn it wasn't helpful (10 minutes to nurse and fall asleep with C vs 30+ minutes then rocking with big sister).
Morning. Preschool day and my friend is flying in today. It's going to be a rainy weekend visit for her, but hopefully she arrives without delay as I have to pickup S from preschool.
I am solo parenting today and most of tomorrow; DH has an overnight OOT work meeting. Both girls are gone at the same time for 1.5 hrs today. Since I already did any errands I needed to on Tuesday, I think I will just go back home. Maybe watch a show - I've been netflixing Once Upon a Time sporadically, when I can! It was drizzling this morning but N still wanted to walk to school so we did. Now it is pouring. Good thing we only had a light rain and stayed fairly dry with umbrellas. Off to drop off "this one" (#2) now.

When both of us were working we traded off getting up with N. I don't know how you primarily did it dmorgendorffer! You have a lot of patience! I know breast feeding probably has a lot to do with it but ugh. Then when I became a SAHM, I of course got up with A. But it was tough as she got older as I was not as generous MOTN anymore either. Probably one good reason we are sticking with two children 😉

DH is really big on this "zoned coverage" thing where he deals with E and I deal with J so in his mind its totally fair that I get up with J (and always have) and on the very rare occasion that E needs something MOTN he gets up for her. I think he's going to regret that when we finally give up the overnight pull ups. Nursing was the big reason it was mostly me for both kids but especially J because I never really forced night weaning with her like I did with E.
E starts gymnastics this weekend and I realized I never ordered her a leotard and tbh, I don't really want to put her in the leotard, it just seems like a nightmare for using the potty. Luckily we have a dance store near our house so I guess we'll be checking out what they have. Hopefully we can get some kind of fitted top and shorts because I have a feeling she's going to want to wear whatever we end up with all the time.
G refused to bedshare so I was out of bed to nurse for most MOTN wake ups anyway, so I did them all unless it was a spectacularly bad night and I didn’t feel safe holding him and needed an hour or two of sleep.
J will bedshare so at the 5am feeding DH gets up, puts him in bed, checks the bed rail, takes away my covers, and then lays down again. Not having to get out of bed for that feeding is sooooo nice.
