A few hours ago I found out that my brother's dog killed my sister's cat I guess what happened was she (cat) accidentally got trapped upstairs instead of safely downstairs where she lives. At some point my brother came home and found her lifeless body near the back windows. She must have been hanging out with the upstairs cat in a safe room then when she decided to go "home" downstairs the door was closed. The dog must have cornered her. My mom thinks poor Frida must have had a heart attack Poor kitty was terrified of that dog because they got into a bad fight 3 months ago. I fear a worse death due to the sevarity of the previous incident.
I'm so angry that they got lax with the precautions to keep the animals seperated. I'm so sad for poor Frida and also her kitty sister who has spent her whole life along side her. I'm sad for my sister who stayed out last night and probably feels super guilty on top of the devistation, my brother who found the dead cat and feels guilty for moving back from Florida a few weeks ago (says if he didn't come back it never would have happened), and my mom who feels guilty because she was the one who accidentally locked the cat upstairs. No one was home when it happened. Everyone involved are adults. It's a bad day in that household.
Question for you. Anyone have any suggestions for a special memorial we can give my sister? I found an etsy shop that does glass blown memorials incorporating cremanes.
tl;dr my brother's dog killed my sister's cat and I'm upset because it could have been prevented. Looking for suggestions for special memorial.

I know there are also places that will make necklaces/lockets from the remains.
When DH put his dog down as a child, the vet made a little business card with the dog's info on it "In memory of Shannon." DH keeps that in his wallet to this day.

I'm sorry for the loss of your cat. I've seen a lot of people use garden stones in memory of a lost pet sometimes with their paw prints set in them or casts of their favorite things. For my dog that passed I used one of the ceramic urns from etsy that was painted to match her as my dog had a unique pattern none of the typical memorials were similar too (PM me if you would like a reference for this shop). If Frida had a common pattern you may be able to find a small ceramic figurine for good cost or have a oil painting done which isn't too bad either. Anything too custom can be quite expensive. I hope this helps though I know it is not the same as having your pet back.
Thank you for all your support and help. My whole family is so messed up over it. As for my sister, she is an artist and a minimalist so whatever we choose to commemorate her beloved kitty has to be something really beautiful. I can't believe this happened.

I'm so sorry this happened! And, between family pets no less. I saw a recent article on Cuddle Clones (stuffed replicas of your pets). It is a bit pricey but it's a lovely idea.
