strong odor in new medicines

Our pharmacy has changed their supplier. Now the medicines are having a very strong odor, as of an aromatic compound. Diovan is a blood pressure medicine but the new one doesn't control the blood pressure very well. I just wanted to know if someone else is also facing the same issue?
I have read the valsartan recall lawsuit and I wanted to know that if I am eligible to file something like that if I found the pharmacy company doing the same?
However, there are some companies that don't, and when you suddenly receive one of them from your pharmacy, it can seem odd
