I'll list some of the favorite gifts we have gotten over the past few years. He might be too young now for some of them, but he'll be ready soon! Water/sand table Books Puzzles Train table Tricycle Riding toys Play kitchen Easel Mini trampoline Legos Magna tiles Blocks Wagon Lots of cars and trucks
Water Table is a good one. Also one of those cars - with the long handle so you can push them while walking - my daughter loved that last summer. Any ride on toy. A wagon - as you will use it for years. And the most practical gift we got was a couple of play outfits.....
Puzzles and blocks are good - but he probably won't use them for a few more months....
I'll vote for the water table too. Sophie loves hers and she'll use it again this year. I'm all about toys that will get them outside so chalk, balls, bubble machines, buckets, sand box. Hats, crocs, swimsuits, beach towels, sunglasses...all small suggestions but important!
I don't know where you live but I'm in nj and it's winter for S's bday...still those toys come in handy come spring and summer!
Rody Pony - my girls are obsessed Rocking Horse - granted, they are just getting into this at 18 months Activity Table - my girls actually hated the water table when we visited a friend's house over the summer, even though they love splashing in the tub, but they love the dry version! Ride on toys - my girls have little ATVs that they push with their feet and they've been a big hit

karabear4409, check out babycheapskate.com. There is a tab called "toys that get played with". It is divided by age. You might also look ahead to the next age since like us, birthday and Christmas are close and you could ask for toys that he might not play with until the summer.

That's a great idea, mrsamyd! Thanks! That's the thing...he just got soo many toys at Christmas. I actually haven't even pulled some of them out of the packages yet. Oops. So, looking ahead is a really great idea! I will also check out that website.
