Massive sarcasm. Our boiler shut itself off at some point yesterday and we didn't realize it. I just thought we had no hot water for C's bath because the dish washer was running. But I woke up to a very silent and cold house. We reset it and it's warming up right now. Fingers crossed.
What's going on with you? Big plans? Snowed in? Hungover?

Heya. Hungover and the kids decided 4:30 was a good time to wake up.
The lip sync battle culminated in my husband's best friend wearing a push up bra and singing No Doubt, and our other friend wearing his wife's clothes while singing Prince.
I'm hungover and watching a Parks & Rec marathon in bed. The in laws have left and MH took V to the grocery store. They get some daddy daughter bonding time and I get to relax for a bit.
@peachsmama I'm excited for you to get to share your news! Does Richard know yet?
Our dinner last night was the male member of our divorced best couple friends and his new girlfriend. I like her so much and I think she is a good match for him. I had to explain to my kids before she came who she was. Of course DD wanted to know "what do you do when one person wants to be un married but the other doesn't?" I'm happy she didn't say anything like this in front of them.
Today we have our former neighbors coming over. It's the first time in a long time my friend and I are both not pregnant or nursing so I'm looking forward to lots of wine.
finnaroo can you die from a hangover because I think I'm dying
Omg that's the worst. Hope you start feeling better soon. I'm shocked I'm not more hungover. I drank all day and was mixing wine, beer and liquor. I did shots and had a Bailey and schnapps cocktail (i know...)that I drank alongside my wine....

I don't remember what I drank I think shots? That's what i smell like right now. I was told that I had a lot of fun last night, I don't remember any of it....
Hi everybody! lfigge good luck on your first day back! Hope S goes easy on your H:)
finnaroo how was the symphony? Do people really dress up for it down where y'all are? (I think I remember saying your DH was wearing his tux?) I love dressing up for stuff like that, but it seems like everything is so casual nowadays, especially in places like FL. I've been here in Jax and have seen everything from cocktail dresses to jeans. It's sad. I would've fit right in in Downton Abbey where black tie was considering "informal" LOL.
JoeLies glad y'all are getting a break from the cold today!
It's gorgeous here...just ran up to Publix with B and it was already in the mid-70s. Unfortunately I am too pale to even contemplate showing a lot of bare skin in shorts! One of my girlfriends is coming over for lunch so I'm making chicken salad, a strawberry spinach salad, and popovers (which I've never done before, despite having had a popover pan for about 3 years now).

QBF
He didn't wear his tux. We joined the Friends of the Philharmonic and they have a few galas throughout the year where he can whip it out (insert dirty joke here), but last night he just wore dress pants and a dress shirt. I couldn't talk him into a jacket. I wore a nice, but not too formal dress. Something I could wear to work or a nice dinner out. There were people in jeans and some in evening gowns. I think that it's sad that most people have no notion of how to dress for these things anymore. If you time warp yourself back to Downton Abbey, take me with you.

Is anyone else dealing with a LO who will not eat? We give him food we know he likes, like a quesadilla, and he will spit it out. He's not eating much these days. Is this teething related? Also, what are you doing about LO throwing their food off the high chair? We put his food down and he will throw it all off. Ignore it? Tell him dinner time is over? I took him out of his high chair and he threw a tantrum and slapped me in the face. I'm having a rough time dealing with DS.
finnaroo love the dress! that green is gorgeous on you.
tgrimes1980 I'm sure your sister was SO appreciative of your coming, I know you must have mixed feelings going back. Mara and your DH will be thrilled to see you, I'm sure:)

Tons of food throwing and refusing to eat over here. I think it's pretty normal developmentally. I just ignore it and end dinner when it gets excessive. I also think it's super normal for them to eat tons one day and hardly anything the next.

Ok, thanks guys. Glad to know this is somewhat normal. I think I will try what tgrimes1980 suggested too. Yesterday at the family celebration DS was actually eating in my lap. Then he jump down, run in a circle and come right back. I think he liked not being confined to a high chair.
On that note, shameless cute pic of DS in his ao dai. DH is Vietnamese and I'm white, by the way.
margaerytyrell So cute. I miss celebrating Chinese New Year. We don't do anything anymore, since MIL is wheelchair bound. She does still love to stuff us with cookies and give envelopes with money.
finnaroo I love that necklace. I haven't been to the symphony or opera in many years. The last time we went to a play though, I recall many people wearing jeans and shorts. Eek.

cagoldi that's sad about your MIL. This year was the smallest celebration we've had. Missing all the family members who have passed away, grown up, moved away, etc.
Hi all! Lazy day at our house. Hannah had a bit of a rough night but I think we're ok today. She's got a low grade fever and started to get a cough. She's been a little warm all week but I've contributed it to teething. Who knows.
finnaroo you look lovely! I wish there were more formal events like back in the old days too.
