ggandlee I don't know how I missed your post. I couldn't imagine being in yours or your H's position. I'm sure it's nerve wracking. I don't have many suggestions... What kinds of things is your H into? Does he like to watch any shows? Maybe get him into something good? Binge watching is a wonderful distraction and time passer. When is his surgery?
He loves the Discovery channel, airplanes, building things and woodworking, and history. His surgery is Tuesday. I am going to look into the Band of Brothers series that LizInFL suggested. Hopefully he will like it! Any other suggestions are welcome!
ggandlee there is a really good multi-part documentary that either PBS or Discovery did a few years back. It's called "Carrier" and it follows life onboard one of the US carriers, the Nimitz. Really, really interesting. If your H is interested in airplanes, he might enjoy it...part of the story follows some of the pilots and their aircraft and missions. Just another thought...
T&Ps @mx2, mskatiep and ggandlee. And yay for good news @peachsmama and @mwhipple.
ggandlee--What about like a ship in a bottle or model car or something? Puzzle books?
@makatiep--You might try soy or other non-dairy milk for a bit while her tummy figures out what's going on, it tends to be a little more gentle. I think ggandlee recommended it last time C was really sick.
I think I just needed to skip today. I accidentally knocked C over this morning, simultaneously giving him his first black eye AND bloody nose. Then this evening I accidentally threw the dog's toy on the roof while playing. She went so spastic she fell in the pool! And yeah, she wasn't happy. And during all of this I twisted my right knee! So now I'm hobbling around, which will be sooooo great at a new job. Oh and did I mention my ears and throat hurt?
Now to AW--my new stitch fix shirt this weekend :-)
Thanks for the ideas ladies! LizInFL I think DH would probably really enjoy that documentary. I will have to find it! ke2009 and mellochello puzzle books and a model plane or ship are also great ideas!! He would love that! Thanks!
ggandlee Has your H seen the WWII in color movies? I think you can buy them on The History Channel store website. Pete and I really enjoyed those.
I ate Coconut Cream Pie for dinner and washed it down with Shiraz. A does the cutest thing lately where he likes to sit in my lap while brushing my hair. He also likes to lift up my shirt to kiss my belly button. Today I was lying on the living room floor and he ran up and kissed my stomach. I didn't think anything of it, then when I went to stand up realized that when he kissed me, he spit a soggy Glodfish cracker into my belly button.
Hannah started coughing last night. She's got a low grade fever and she was pretty hoarse today. Dr. Google is telling me it could be croup. I hope not, but I will be giving her doctor a call in the morning. I have her humidifier running but I couldn't find the baby vicks anywhere. I'm hoping she sleeps ok tonight.
