I need a new do. Right now I have pretty long hair and my layers have all grown out. I'm thinking of going medium length with more long layers added but don't want to take off too much length at one time and want/need to still be able to rock a ponytail at times.
So tell us about your hair and what you love and/or hate about it.

I alternate between long and shoulder length. My hair is slightly wavy, but any curl brushes out in our dry climate with a hairbrush. Anytime I've got shorter, I just ask for, "as short as possible, but able to get it into a half pony off my face".
Good luck with a new do! I wish I had the guts to do something different.
My hair is awful right now, so no current tips! I have super thick, dark hair that is naturally curly, but usually worn straight. I had super long hair when the boys were born and chopped it off into a super short do that I LOVED. But, I feel like you can only get away with long hair for a certain time and I was ready for a change. It's in the awkward, chin length with funky layers stage. For awhile, I had shoulder length hair with lots of long layers and sweeping bangs (just long enough to tuck behind an ear). I loved that hair cut and like it in pictures. I'll probably go back to that or maybe embrace my long curly hair again.
I lost a ton of hair after having DS2. Seriously, a ton of hair, and it's still growing back in. My hair used to be decently long, but I got it cut to a longish bob a few months ago and love it. I part it on the side when it's down, but it's up most days when I'm just home with the boys.
I have pretty curly hair myself and its decently long. I usually wear it straight but i find myself being lazy this pregnancy. Just like i was when pregnant w S.
I'm guessing once the baby arrives I'll be desperate to feel "normal" again. My one thing i did even if i stayed home all day w her was straighten my hair. So I'm sure I'll feel the same again. I plan on cutting my hair like Taylor swift in shake it off...minus the side bangs. Bangs and curly hair do not mix.

I have straight hair with just a tiny bit of body. it is not completely stick straight. I have had it in some form of a bob with bangs for years. It looks pretty good with just wash and go and no styling, which is why I like it. It also doesn't get messed up under my bicycle helmet, which is important, because I ride my bike to work, and I need to look halfway decent.
When i have hair long enough to fit in a pony tail, all I do is wear it in a pony tail, which is not flattering on me. that is why short is the way to go for me.

I have pretty curly, thick hair. I straighten it every. single. day. I hate my hair curly. Mainly, I just do not know how to wear it curly and look like a little girl, so I always straighten it.
My hair is currently a couple of inches past my shoulders. I usually have long layers, but they are grown out right now. I really could use a hair cut, but I just haven't done it.
I wear my hair down 99.9% of the time. I seriously have no style when it comes to hair. Other than a basic ponytail, I don't know how to do anything with hair. It's probably a good thing I have a little boy!
This is the inspiration for the last haircut I got. Note: this picture is from Pinterest. It's not me!
I have curly hair too and it is a couple of inches past my shoulders. I keep choppy layers in it and sweeping bangs. I used to straighten it daily but got lazy so it's curly everyday. When H was around 9 months, I went to a different lady to get it cut and she cut it way shorter than I ever have had it, just barely past my chin. I ended up liking it better than I thought but I couldn't put it in a decent pony tail for a few weeks, which drove me crazy when I wanted a lazy hair day.
Like so many of you my hair is wavy and i keep it straight most of the time. Right now it's just so big and out of control. Hoping I keep the nerve to cut a bit.

Thanks! I do too! Whenever I get my butt to the salon, I will get it cut like that again. I just wish my hair would actually look like that! When my stylist fixed it, it looked pretty similar. But when I do it, it just hangs straight down. Again, I have no idea how to do hair. Oh well.
I feel the same way karabear4409 . My hair never actually looks like the cut I want/get. I think I'm going to get hot rollers. Quick, easy, and make your hair look less frizzy and more tame which is my problem. I'd only use them for when I actually fix my hair though, ha!

Hot rollers have been my savior lately. Easy and quick to put in and take out. So has dry shampoo spray. Also I'm a big fan of Kiehl's Silk Groom.
My hair is fine, straight, long-ish, past my shoulder blades and blonde with a few layers. I got bangs more recently too, which was my solution to not "getting a mom haircut" because it's easier for me to look more put together with bangs for some reason.

I have very long (almost to my butt), layered hair. If I wasn't so terrified of chopping it all off, I would have done it months ago. When I was 15 I donated 15 inches to Locks of Love and I'm never cutting my hair that short again. I'm naturally blonde (nearly white) and I dye it chocolate brown every 6 weeks.
Me: 27, DH: 26 / TTC since June 2011
HSG 12/2012 - both tubes blocked; hydrosalpinx x 2
9/2013 - bilateral tubal ligation
6/2013 - IVF #1. Follistim, Ganirelix, and Menopur. 15R/8M/7F; 1 transferred on 6/28/13; 4 frozen.
7/3/2013 - BFP on HPT! Beta #1: 106; Beta #2: 764
7/16/2013 - first ultraound; 2 sacs
7/23/2013 - heard heartbeat for first time (on my birthday); one sac.
EDD: 3/24/14; DD born 2/25/2014
I bit the bullet and went short, well short for me.... Its very short in the back and angled longer in the front. I wear a side part. Its a very easy style. Didn't warn DH I was doing it but he loves it. Good luck!

harperandco, I'm totally curious...why darker? I love chocolate brown hair! However, I know tons of people who pay big bucks for blonde. I don't know anyone who goes darker!

Hahaha, I hear this frequently! I have very fair skin and light eyes so I look washed out with blonde hair. If I could figure out how to post photos, I would show you. I also find that I get much more respect as a brunette than as a blonde, and I've had WAY more fun as a brunette. Hahaha. DD inherited my fair skin and blonde hair though and I am thrilled!

Ahhhhh! This totally makes sense! High five to my brunette sister! I bet the dark hair and light eyes is striking. My BFF has the same combo
chiwifey, talk to me about hot rollers. Ive never used them so i am clueless. What are good ones? how curly does it make your hair? How long does it take to set?
@ducky719 I have no idea, ha! I haven't used them since high school to get my perfect, curly ponytail for cheerleading, haha! It has been awhile. I just know every time I ask someone who has gorgeous hair with soft curls how they do it they say hot rollers. I do know they are pretty fast. You put them in and then do your make up/finish getting ready and then take them out and your hair looks beautiful. Very little effort which is why I want to start using them. Maybe bzeetyd can share more since she's been using them. Help us, bzeetyd !
