cagoldi I showed MH the learning tower last night and he immediately said no way. He thinks it's dangerous. What would you say to him? (So I can say it and obviously sway him)
Pete was worried also, but once he saw how easily he can climb up and down he thought it was genius. I don't want him on it unsupervised, so I close it in the pantry if we aren't using it. With me standing literally right next to him, it's not really any more dangerous than him sitting on the couch or trying to climb the coffee table, or ottoman, or insert name of any other item of furniture.
untaggablekatie we have been doing timeouts for a few weeks now. We reserve them for when he is or going to hurt himself or others. We have been giving one warning and if the bahavior continues he goes to a timeout. The biggest culprit is pulling the cat's tail. We have seen a decline in needing to give time outs since we started so there is some improvement. We are just trying to be as consistent as possible.
With the throwing of the toys is it possible just to ignore it? It seems like something he is really looking for a reaction from you and while annoying it isn't dangerous so maybe letting the toys pile up he might get sick of it?
Re: needing to get out more- my front desk person came to me and said "Bear is here", which was the next appointment.I said "Bear" and growled. Seriously.
We tried that in the beginning.... once he threw the toy the toy was "gone" or "no more cars". That may be our last resort, just ignoring the behavior altogether
My mom said he hasn't done it at all today, but he's kind of clingy with a sore mouth I'm sure.
Thanks guys. I checked on the app and it looks like the RSV test is negative. Thank goodness. I brought her home to get her a nap and once she wakes up we will go and pick up her prescription. He gave her azithromyacin this time.
cagoldi yay Pete! Buy yourself something nice, you deserve it.
Those who have cleaning ladies/services: do you leave the house while they're there? I'm supposed to get my oil changed tomorrow afternoon during the time that my cleaning lady will be here. I trust her, I've just always been here. I think I'll be home before they finish, but is that normal?
Congrats Pete & Goldi! Go to a ridiculously expensive dinner and order every.single.dessert.
Is it weird that I had my review here about 3 weeks ago and my supervisor was able to tell me I was getting a raise and a bonus, but she didn't know how much or when it would pay out? Haha. It's so dysfunctional for such a big company.

i am never home. I actually try to avoid being home because I hate feeling underfoot in my own home and moving from room to room to stay out of the way.

Pushed naptime back til 12:15 and C napped for 2.5 hours. I realize this was likely a fluke, but I'm pretending like I found the key to amazing nap time.

My cleaning lady comes while I am a work. I leave a key under the mat and cash on the counter. I have only actually met her 3 times (once during the interview and the 2 times she came while I was on Maternity Leave). I actually found it awkward to be there when she was there, and prefer this way.

Totally normal. I leave mine to go to the gym every time. Then I try to stay out and run errands because I feel like u get in her way (like KFra said). Today, the boy and I had a long lunch at the gym and now we're at the mall.
@mothereffer, glad to hear the ped said nothing to worry about. I hope that puts your mind at ease. Good luck in finding a new DC. I hope the next one is fantastic!

When we are out and about Doug just wants to smile at everyone. if there are little kids of any age he wants to walk over and smile at them. He's not super touchy with other people. Most of the time people smile back and he thinks that's the best thing in the world and will laugh and clap but sometimes people ignore or just scowl at him. I just want to smack them and ask how hard it is to smile at a baby who wants nothing but a smile.
then I realize I've become that crazy mom person who feels like people must acknowledge my kid. I will not be a crazy lady. maybe.

This is so me! L is super friendly and must say HI! to all.the.people. He will say it continuously until he is acknowledged. I can't believe when people still ignore him when it's blatantly obvious that he is attempting a friendly greeting. I feel, irrationally, protective and just want to say "Hey you?! Can you NOT hear my kid saying Hi??"
@mothereffer Glad the pedi helped ease your mind. The OAD board is great! It's hard to know what to do. They allow fence sitters to post and they are very welcoming, you should go ahead and intro.

Cadence only says hi to males 8+ and elderly people. Oh, and if you are walking your dog, but I'm pretty sure she is saying hi to the dog and not the owner of said dog. If you don't fit into these categories and you say hi to her then you get her "I think you have a third eyeball on your forehead" look.
A friend of mine keeps sending me facebook messages about her heartburn. WTF?

I am that crazy mom, too.
x3. M likes to smile and wave at people, and I get so mad when someone just blows him off. How can you just scowl at any baby's sweet face?! It always brightens my day when a kid smiles at me. Heart of stone assholes.
Side note: I wandered over to the blended families board today. Thought I'd check it out considering my new life situation.
Let's just say, it made me thankful for my situation.
I don't think I'll be going back. BMB it is all the way!

Same, but change males to females, particularly brunettes that are wearing make-up. And I know he's talking to the dogs because it's always, "hi, dog!"
Cherhorowitz Does C still go nuts when he sees the yogurt aisle at the grocery store? I thought of you guys yesterday when I was out shopping. A spotted string cheese from about 20 feet away and started pointing and screaming, "CHEESE!! CHEEEEESE!" You would swear I've been starving him the way he looked desperate to get his hands on some.

We avoid the bananas for this reason... I park by the mushrooms and reach over the partition to sneak the bunch of bananas.

My baby is a total creep in public. He will full on stare at someone without blinking or smiling. Then he'll do a quiet, slow "hiiii" in a creepy voice he reserves for being in public. All while continuing the no smile stare. It's weird because at home and other peoples houses and stuff he's super smiley and friendly!
