Good morning. Hannah woke up with a higher fever than she had yesterday. I will be calling her doctor's office in an hour when they open. She slept well last night though.
wedding that's cute that C was bringing you his coat.
Morning! It's gross here today...rainy, overcast and dreary...I guess that's payback for the pretty weather we had this weekend. B was up at 7, literally yelling to be freed from his crib. Good morning to you, too, kiddo.
Not much going on here today, just starting to get ready for our trip:)
trtlcrzy Aww, poor Hannah. Hope she feels better soon. B ran a high (103) fever for almost a week recently...it was awful, it was a full-time job keeping him comfortable.
Morning! wedding, that's so cute that he brings you his coat.
We had a rough weekend. E had an on and off fever and would only sleep on me for naps, and then woke up pretty much every hour on the hour overnight. He seemed to be feeling better this morning, though, so fx.
Anyone watch the oscars last night? Lupita Nyongo is freaking stunning.
Same old here. C slept in (yea!). Trip to the gym and grocery store.
Is anyone else's kid transitioning to just one nap, but then just taking an hour nap? It's less than ideal.
My kid fights naps as if doing so is the only way to save mankind. She gets tired as early as 10, and then *maybe* goes down around 2. She used to nap somewhere around 10:30, but I think those days are gone.
Morning everyone! I'm sorry that so many babies have fevers.
We're going to the gym and cleaning up the wake left by Destructor yesterday. If I'm feeling ambitious, I'll clean out the car and get the oil changed.
I'm way more interested in making B a tshirt to wear to DH's soccer games though. Any cute ideas spring to mind? "Go Daddy" just seems terribly boring.
I'm starting to think about my next tattoo or two. I have two ideas for subject matters but style size etc are up in the air. I've been obsessing over watercolor tattoos this morning. and side tattoos. Someday.
B is still willing to take naps, thankfully. Every now and then he'll fight it, but I'm still getting 2 good naps a day, especially if we're home. If we're out and about...50/50 chance, depending on how much time in the car, etc. But he is much more pleasant to be around if he's had 2 naps.
He just dug an applesauce pouch out of his diaper bag and demanded I open it. This on top of the waffle, fruit and yogurt he had less than an hour ago. He's a bottomless pit lately... My husband said he ate cereal out of mixing bowls when he was in high school b/c the regular bowls weren't big enough. I guess this is my future?

I told DH that maybe we'll save $$ on clothes, shoes and accessories with E and 2.0 (assuming they're like most teenage boys and aren't into fashion the way girls can be), but oh, man are we gonna have a huge grocery bill....

With the time change and not having her crib we are team no nap and only sleeping 8 hours at night. I love being home but I'm for her to sleep in her crib. I'm burnt and our flight isn't till 7pm today.
How do you stay motivated to work out. There are virtually no good classes the times I can go to the gym so I'm pretty much forced into self motivation. Which means my work outs are less intense because I hate every part of working out. But I NEED to start losing weight now. I mean even if I'm walking on the treadmill for an hour that's better tthan if I didn't come at all right?
DH is flying out tonight for a few days and as exhausting as C is right now, I'm looking forward to the time away. He was driving me nuts this weekend. During C's naps, I run around getting all my "chores" done while DH sits in the family room watching TV. But once C was up, DH kept finding things to do in the kitchen, leaving me with C. And DH doesn't want C in the kitchen or banging his toys or throwing things or basically acting like a 1 year old. So I'm trying to keep C busy in the family room, but of course he just wants to visit his Dad. It honestly would have been easier if DH just left for the day. There were a few other things, but I literally ended up in tears at lunch and DH thought I was just frustrated with C. He really is normally such a good Dad and I know he finds this age challenging, but yeah, it's a good thing he'll be gone for a few days. I need a bit of time to myself.

kellykinns, wow... those are beautiful! I've never seen anything like it. What would you get?
I'm so excited. I just ordered two chairs for our living room and am going on the hunt today for a side table to put in between them. They aren't what I'd want if money weren't an issue, but I think they'll work. Our living room/dining room currently is just a big playroom with no real furniture.

Have you tried videos at home? I like to do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and Bikini Body Mommy. Then at the gym I mostly focus on weights with some cardio. Can you motivate yourself on the treadmill by telling yourself each time you go, you have to run/jog longer than the day before, even if it's just 30 seconds more? It helps to have a goal.

JoeLies, I can relate. This age is hard. My husband and I struggle with trying to balance being able to relax and get stuff done. I don't care if he relaxes while C naps, but then it drives me insane when he complains that there is NO time to get anything done. Last weekend he relaxed while C napped, then I took C to the grocery store with me for an hour or so. I figured he was getting things done at that point. Nope. Then I got home thinking I'd go take a shower and he decided then was the time to do all the shit he'd been putting off.
wineallthetime I have two ideas but they aren't super fleshed out yet. I don't have an artistic mind so I tend to need the artist who can take my rambling and make it art.
The first is inspired by the wine box at our wedding. it's carved with a tree and says "where we go love grows" This has meant a lot to me because we know we will be traveling a lot since Dan is military and I could see that turning into a nice piece somewhere.
the second will sound cliche but long before the book "Guess how much I love you" My dad and I have said I love you to the moon and back again. I'd love to do something non-cliche with that since I also say it to Doug.
ladystrat...so are 'snow days' accounted for in the school calendar, or will they have to make up the lost time at the end of the school year? There were a few times growing up where a hurricane would close school for a day or so, but never enough that we had to go extra days.
JoeLies I don't blame you for wanting time to yourself. Even if you weren't frustrated, it's totally normal...plus all the bad weather keeping everyone cooped up can just lead to too much togetherness! DH is out of town this week and I'm enjoying the break. B is fine, we aren't in "survival mode" yet, my legs are hairy, and I have yet to make the bed. It's lovely.

For me, I'm 100% motivated by vanity.
I modeled from the age of 7 into adulthood. Prebaby, I was naturally waifish, but I had tone. I didn't really have to work for it back then.
Enter B, and my midsection looks like a blown out tire and I suddenly have hips and thighs to go with it. It's never going to look like it used to, but I'll be damned if I just wallow in misery about what's lost. I don't like what I'm seeing, so I have to change it. That's what motivates me.
I've been doing the BBM workouts at the gym since they have childcare. Sometimes I do the elliptical in addition to that, but I find the machines incredibly boring. The classes don't really push me hard enough because Florida is populated by old people and the gym largely caters to them.
Doing something is better than nothing, and you have to start somewhere. If that's walking on the treadmill, then do it and build from there.
@sing2phins kellykinns I wish I could love tit those pictures 100x. Your babies are so adorable. Doug is so big and Maggie is so pretty! lol at her pulling on his socks.
JoeLies I know what you mean. I think my relationship with my H is better because he travels frequently for work. I need the alone time and so does he. I miss him and he misses us, but the time apart makes us better when we are together.
Oh, update. We don't have the flu, thank God, but we do have our first ear infection. Our doctor said we are just super lucky that he's never had one before now. LO woke up screaming at 2 AM, but settled down with me in the guest bedroom where we snuggled til 5AM, when he decided it was time for pancakes. So... fug.
He's at school now and hopefully not too uncomfortable. I hear nighttime is more painful because the laying down causes more pressure or something. It somewhat makes sense. They won't give him Tylenol or Motrin at school, but I can go up and administer it myself if I want.
JoeLies, I hear you!! I felt seething anger as DH laid on the couch this weekend while I dealt with M and did everything else around the house. He must have taken the hint of my evil stares Sunday afternoon bc he finally did a few chores and got M ready for bed. (Usually my job)
I hope all the fever babies are fever free soon!
In other news, spotted a shiney white top of a brand new molar poking through M's gum this morning.

Morning All! I stayed up to watch the Oscar's... bad decision...
We went to sleep at 11:15, Isaac woke up at 11:30. Lately, when he's been getting up, we go and lay/sleep on the floor in his room and he eventually goes back to sleep. I hate this method. He ends up just laying there wide awake for 1-2 hours. Finally at 12:30 we just let him cry... he was asleep within 5 minutes. I think we are going to go back to some CIO, with a mix of laying in his room.
Also, we've tried doing timeouts. They suck. He has been throwing his toys down our stairs (split level house) and it is a PITA. So yesterday we did like 3 time outs for a minute after each time he threw a toy down. I don't think it worked. I don't know what to do here. Any advice momma's??

Do you watch the BBM videos at the gym or write the workout down ahead of time?
