@dyork You're right they did check my progesterone levels for beta 3 and I think I was within the normal range then. It does make me a little nervous as well to just stop at 8 weeks when others go to 10 or 12.

So just a quick update. Met with nurse at new OBs office. Did all the intake stuff we did with old OB, so nothing too exciting. As I progress, I will meet with each OB to get familiar with them all since whoever is on call at delivery time is who you get. I'm ok with that.
She was trying to schedule my next appointment with a provider so we can get a u/s earlier than 12 weeks! Yay, they even had an opening tomorrow, but.... DH would not be able to make it, so we settled on 3/9. So 2 more weeks, but that's better than 3 more!!
We got the schedule calendar for their birthing classes, and also for free they offer a breastfeeding class and a infant care class. I'm very excited and so far I'm glad we decided to change Drs offices.
Me: 33 DH: 34 Unexplained Infertility Off BCP Sept 2012. Referred to RE Oct 2013 Testing done Nov/Dec 2013 *IUI #1-#4 2/14-7/14 7/2014- DH and I decided to stop TTC and focus on us. 1/24/15- Surprise BFP!!!! Little E born 10/7/15!!
Wow, my typing was terrible for the QOTW. Sorry 'bout that. Mobile and feeling like shit and all that.
Thanks for all the feel better wishes. I'm mostly better today. Some awful intestinal cramping overnight, but that seems to have subsided. Zofran does not take away the nausea, but it makes it bearable enough that I can force a bunch more water without fear of throwing it up.
QOTW: We occasionally had pets. A cat lasted a day because one year old me terrorized it. two dogs each lasted a couple of years before we had to give them up. The first one kept running me over and the second one peed on the couch. My dad was not amused. Then we had rats, which were not as much fun but entertaining enough and we kept them healthy. Fish never did well. I wouldn't have minded having more pets, but my dad did *not* like animals in the house. Now that is the battle between DH and I. He grew up with cats and dogs all over and sleeping in his bed. I did not and I don't like cat ass in my face when I'm trying to sleep. I think our kids will have some chores around the house, possibly related to pets. The important thing to me is to give them some responsibility.
triathlete23, I hope your job doesn't involve too much computer scrolling. As I think I said before, I'm so glad (for once) that my job does not involve food! I feel sick just looking at most food. Have to eat it quickly!
bostongirl617, Yep, being afraid of and looking forward to the u/s is normal. I already saw the hearts beating, but I'm afraid when I go back one or both of them will have stopped.
@ketchup, Added. Good point about the mutual wearing out of kids and dog. I guess that wouldn't work quite the same with other kinds of pets, like the kitty I terrorized as a one year old.
ginnyjones82, I find that if I drive, motion sickness is not a problem.
@dyork, How did the u/s go?
vballbaby, I find plain meats yucky. However, fish, breaded chicken tenders, shrimp, and corned beef hash seem to be going well.
@buttmonkey I am so glad your spotting has subsided! FX for a good u/s this Friday! @smootiepiei hope the m/s subsides soon! Winnifred I am so, so sorry to hear about your loss. @ketchup I have had really light symptoms too and waffle on wanting more just for reassurance too. sewfie2 I hope you feel much better soon! I heard B6 and Unisom is supposed to really help ginnyjones82 I have been really lucky on m/s so far but holy crap is my car sickness bad right now. @dyork I hope you feel better soon! Yay for a great u/s! @jetta823306 WOOHOO for twins! nomnom I hope you feel much better very soon! That sounds awful. vballbaby FX for a great u/s! goldenlove3, aves0708 welcome to the check in! SweetieShellie I hope you feel better soon and that your appt tomorrow goes well. cml112 I hope you feel better soon lilyharper bad cervix, bad!
AFM: How far along are you now? 8 weeks 3 days
How are you feeling? Pretty good, to the point that I am very eager for my ultrasound on Thursday because with the baby measuring small so far (6w6d when it was 7w5d), I am illogically equating lighter symptoms with the baby not doing well.
What and when is your next appointment? Ultrasound to check growth on Thursday
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? I am nervous! The end.
QOTW: I grew up with tons of pets - bunnies, birds, mice, fish, cats, dogs. I have three kitties now and can't imagine ever not having pets so I hope the kiddo isn't allergic!
Vballbaby that's a great question about progesterone I want to ask my OB, although I feel like I know far more about IVF/injects than they do. I have a feeling they won't know how to answer me.
lilyharper HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I hope your day was wonderful and I brought you a special cake with your initial on it. I hope it's you this time who caves to the craving!
Omg vballbaby. I'm literally eating ice cream right now....but that's amazing. And thanks.
You're welcome! Somehow I went all day without eating any chocolate (despite having two of those chocolate mini desserts from Whole Foods in the fridge right now), however I can't say the same about eating almost an entire box of pierogies I made. These cravings and/or a total lack of desire to eat are insane!
nomnom, lol at "cat ass in my face." My cats don't do that too much to me (they're way more like to put their butts in mh's face for some reason), but Alley decided tucking her butt between my chin and pillow was the right move yesterday morning. At least she had the decency to use her tail to cover her butt.

nomnom, HCG #1 on 2/18 was 124, HCG#2 on 2/20 was 316, HCG#3 on 2/24 was 2080! I'm looking at a doubling rate of 35 hours right now. I finally have our first ultrasound scheduled for Monday! The nurse wanted me to do yet another beta on Friday but I told her we would be out of town so she cancelled it.

Holy crap... has anybody else looked into daycare costs? DH and I were talking about it yesterday. Before I got KU and jokingly told DH if we had twins he'd have to quit his job and be a stay at home dad, I thought I was just kidding. I think Daycare costs for twins is going to basically equal out his whole paycheck (i make more then he does)! How the hell is that fair for parents??

It's not fair at all. My local news recently ran a story about this. They said that you will pay more for daycare for your child than you will for their college education!!

Yep, it'll be something like half of my salary (or maybe a bit more). Too bad we don't have any family nearby to help.
Update: may sound kind of like whining because, well, I want to feel sorry for myself. Well, I think the bug has passed. Unfortunately it seems to have left intestinal issues in its wake. I'm now trying probiotics and a bland diet to try to get everything back on track. I was going to get a rotisserie chicken this morning, but stupid Walmart only has lemon pepper or garlic, both of which are questionable for food aversions. DH says Sam's Club has plain chickens.
There really isn't much I can eat right now and I doubt I'm fully digesting what I do eat. Good thing I don't *really* need to gain (or even maintain) weight during first tri.

BRAT: bananas, rice, apple(sauce), toast. Supposed to work

I considered that and I'm trying similar things, but with more protein. I opted for buttered noodles and cottage cheese or canned tuna for lunch. We'll see how that goes. All that seems pretty bland.
nomnom my stomach has been in a twist for a week also, but it's coming around. I ate a salad bar at a restaurant and that's when it started (I won't be doing that again, it's too questionable). I take probiotics at night also, It's definitely improved "things" since I started taking them 3 months ago. But I think maybe just being pregnant upsets our tummy since our digestion slows down as well so it's been hard for me to tell. I'm glad you're feeling somewhat better. SweetieShellie I wonder if finding a good in-home nanny could possibly be a little cheaper? And easier I would think, but I'm not sure, just a thought. I know day care for infants especially is very high. bostongirl617, I really still want to dig into that frosting! Everytime I scroll past it, it just looks soooo good.
The probiotic gummies smell exactly like chewable amoxicillin! And my lunch was delicious: buttered noodles and lactose-free milk. I'm thinking Mrs. Grass's noodle soup and some rotisserie chicken for dinner. I hope a few days of that plus probiotics will get things back in order.
vballbaby My digestion is definitely not slowed down. I think everything is going through me too fast for me to actually get all the nutrition out of it. My acute digestive issues may also have started eating at a buffet restaurant. I don't think it was the food since other people at my table ate most of the stuff I did, but it might have been some little kid that was sick, touched the tongs, and then I used my fingers to eat mini corn dogs.
So, so late to the party. Hopped on a few days ago and started love titting on the thread... but the scrolling left me dry heaving. Blech.
How far are you now? 9w
How are you feeling? All. The. Nausea. Also bloated... I may migrate to maternity jeans tomorrow.
What and when is your next appointment? U/S #2 on Friday!
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? Told my parents - yay! So glad we didn't wait any longer.
QOTW: I was only allowed to have fish growing up. I now have two dogs and a cat. Can't imagine life without pets. We will likely incorporate pet care into the expected chores for the kiddos.
How are you feeling? I really feel pretty good overall. I get some waves of feeling queasy and I'm sleeping more, but I really can't complain.
What and when is your next appointment? I have my first appointment with my new Dr on Tuesday. I still can't believe I have to go to a new Dr now.
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? I picked up some dirt cheap clearance maternity tops at Old Navy last week. I walked out of there with 5 tops for 8 bucks!

So I have wicked heartburn and while the paper my OB gave me says that I can take Tums, it also says the only meds you should take in the first tri is tylenol. Opinions anyone!!

So, I just realized that I have to give myself my PIO shot tomorrow night. Eep! I did a few of the lupron shots, but the needle for the PIO is so much thicker. I hope I can get smaller gauge needles at work that are long enough.
sewfie2, 22.5's worked for me. The way to get through it is to just go for it. Don't overthink it, don't go slow, just stab that sucker in.
Don't forget to pull back on the plunger though to make sure you didn't hit a vein. For me, pulling back on the plunger was the worst part, because once it was in, I just wanted to get it over with.
Hi all! I'd like to join this check-in (timidly, as I still don't feel like I have totally solid ground under me). I am so happy to be back with so many familiar faces, and to be meeting new ones
How far are you now? 5 weeks exactly today. Suuuper early.
How are you feeling? As for pregnancy? Not a thing. As for OHSS? I got way over-confident in moving around and eating yesterday p.m. and I reeeeeally paid for it. I feel a bit better again this morning but I'm going to have to watch it.
What and when is your next appointment? I have another OHSS check tomorrow, when I hope we'll get to see if the gestational sac has made any headway since yesterday (now that I've seen it I feel like an u/s addict already, TBH). I think my first official pregnancy appt. with the RE will be a week from today (the 6th) at exactly 6wks.
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? I am so ready to not have OHSS anymore. Like, soooooo ready. And if one more a-hole tells me I'm getting an exact preview of 2nd/3rd tri, I'm going to remind them that it takes the body 6-7 months to get into that state, not 12 hours. I have a funny feeling it's a wee bit different.
QOTW: Did you have any pets growing up? What role (if any) do you think kids should play in caring for pets? I had birds and hamsters, whom I probably 40% took care of from about age 10 onward. Now we have a cat, so I think it's a little different, since you don't want kids around cat poop. I haven't really thought about this before, but my gut says that by double digits I'd be wanting a lot of help with feeding the pet, on a proper schedule.

hi bluefairy5!! I hope the OHSS is getting better. It sucked when I had a moderate case of it back in November, ugh! I can just imagine how much worse yours must be! I feel for you big time!!
I'm sorry I missed out yesterday, I woke up with a migraine which in turn made my m/s about a million times worse (I throw up when I have a migraine without being KU, so yeah, waaaay worse KU'd!) I think MAYBE a quarter of a package of cooked ramen noodles is all that managed to stay down alll day long yesterday. I had to call in sick to work, which made DH not so happy, but what was I gonna do?? I haven't attempted to eat yet today. I had to go do some bloodwork and it required fasting and I just got home, and took my meds, so now I have to wait a little bit longer before I can eat. The hunger is making me soo nauseated. But I'm drinking some carbonated water so it's helping a little until I can eat again!
I have an u/s booked for the 12th at the hospital by my house, but I'm hoping if I take the req with me to work, that maybe the u/s department at the hospital I work at can take me in sooner. I feel like I need to know what's going on in there with my SCH asap, especially with all the sad news lately My heart goes out to our friends
