I know I went MIA, but I have a hard time using my mobile for this forum for some reason and getting out my computer is a PITA most days lately...I feel like I am really in the thick of the whole 2u2 business. L is an absolute tornado, I have actually left my house without makeup and in leggings and a hoodie multiple times because it just isn't worth the fight to get ready...these are things I vowed I would NEVER EVER do!!
Anyways, M is about to be 4 months old. I use a combo of pockets and prefolds, on both him and L and I have washed with Tide original and never had an issue until he started getting red where his urine touches about three weeks ago. It is clearly only the area where his urine is, which made me think it was his urine reacting with the detergent suddenly, though I have been using it since he was born. I switched to disposables, cleared up the rash and stripped my diapers and changed detergents. But the rash came back with vengeance. I finally called the Pedi and they prescribed anti yeast cream. After about 5 days on that it is clearing up. In the meantime I treated all L's and M's diapers for yeast with tea tree oil or bleach (if they could be bleached). On a side note I used too much TTO because my diapers still smell like it after 3 washes. I am using the anti yeast cream for a few more days then plan to try switching back to the cloth diapers, but I feel like his skin is so sensitive it is always on the verge of another rash. The only way to keep It down is aquaphor galore... Does anyone have any advice before I make the switch back? I have been doing nothing but stripping my diapers and trying different things for the last three weeks and I am at the end of my rope.
Also, I apparently forgot how to use a disposable, because he explodes out of it at least three times a day. I finally took to putting a thirsties cover over the diaper to catch the overflow but it is making me insane!!
