DD is obsessed with books right now, especially books that talk about "her" such as "On the Night You Were Born". It has gotten me to thinking that I would love to write her a simple little book. I know they have those that you can personalize with the child's name or picture, but I would love to actually write and illustrate a book for DD. Does anyone know of a website that does this? I can always just google it but would love a personal recommendation if someone has done this before. I'm just looking to get one for DD, not publish a children's book to sell, but I want it to look professional.
No recommendations but thats really cute. I had photoboard book made up from a vendor on Etsy. It's really cute and has names and photos of our family (grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousin...) we look at it everynight and she loves to point to people.
No recommendations here either but I would love to do that too! Such a great memory to look back on. Also, not to take away from your question, I've heard about the company, Budsies, that will take your child's drawing and turn it into a stuffed animal. Our LOs are still a bit young for this but I thought I'd throw out the name since I just heard about this recently.

DH attempted to have Shutterfly use LO's picture in a Sesame Street book. Don't ever do that. It's been such a hassle since December and we haven't gotten anything. They even said they mailed it and we got some other kids book!

I made her an alphabet book using people and items that she can recognize. Nothing fancy, just printed off pages like normal photos and put them in a hardcover photo album. She loves it.
I always feel so unimportant when we get to the M/N page. M is for mommy, N is for Niko (our dog) and she always goes straight to point at him. Haha.

This is a great idea too! We don't have a dog, but DD loves them and would go straight for a dog picture over one of me every time :-P

Cool idea! I made an alphabet book with DS and am adding lower case letters to it with DD. I cut large letters out of construction paper and cut out pictures from magazines and do a collage of each letter; we do 2 letters per week. The collages get hung up the week we learn the letters and put into plastic sheet covers in a binder after that. Both kids really love this project! (And now that DS is in preschool, he actually helps teach DD.)
