We got some horrible news this morning. Our nephew (MH brother's son) died this morning. He was 12. They went in to wake him up and found him blue. He has severe autism and is prone to seizures. He had had one in his sleep and choked (I'm assuming on his vomit) to death. Now we are making plans to get to Amarillo. I think MH will drive up tomorrow and I'll fly up with M on Sunday. Not sure when the funeral will be but I doubt before Sunday. My brother will watch my 6 year old. It's so sad. I can't fathom the pain his parents are suffering. Please pray for peace and healing for our family. It's so so tragic.
Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. How tragic...I can't imagine anything much worse than losing a child. I will definitely be keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. We are devastated. Apparently when a child dies in the home a judge has to question the parents. They wanted to order an autopsy. It's just dragging out an already horrific thing. My husband is itching to get to his family and now we're finding out that there are expecting a ton of snow. (Well., a ton for a Texan) I'm worried abut him driving in those conditions but I understand his need to be with his brother. Now please pray for safe travels as well.

Just a quick update. The wake is tomorrow and service will be Saturday morning. We are driving up tomorrow first thing in the morning. As I said before, taking M with us and leaving my 6-year-old with my brother. Praying for clear roads so we can get there early enough to prepare for the wake. Thank you again got your prayers and warm thoughts.
In addition to all of this, my great uncle isn't expected to last through the night. I've packed enough to possibly have to fly to see my side of the family from my husbands side. In that case it will just be me and M. February is turning into a pretty gloomy month for me.
