What is the thing you did before your LO that you either don't do now or don't do as much now, that you miss the most?

Besides sleep, that is a given
if we have talked about this recently forgive me it was just on my mind this morning

Hiking
DH and I would drive out in the convertible and hike on nice days. it was nice.

We used to go out to eat way more often! I'm glad that having a tantrum throwing toddler forces us to stay home more, because it was expensive and unhealthy.

We also went to the movies at least once a month, and I think that I've only been once since she was born.

Stay up late and sleep in. DH still doesn't seem to understand why I never stay up late on weekends lol. Even on Saturday and Sunday DD is up by 6.

Also going to movies and the gun range. Too many logistics now

I miss most going out to dinner w/ DH.

Having spontaneous little trips. We try to go but it's a lot harder since we have to figure out kid friendly things to do.

Agree with the spontaneous trips - mostly wine tasting for us since we live in a state with a large wine-producing region. I really miss wine

Eating at a restaurant other than McDs. And going for rides on the quad.

Date night. DH and I had a weekly date night. It usually was Tuesday or Wednesday. This was while we were dating. Once we move in together, then married we still would have a date night.

Also, going to the theatre. The PWYC nights were a favorite of ours. Dinner then go to the theatre.

One more...
Going to a sporting event...baseball, basketball, football, and sometimes hockey.

Oh so much! Life is just so different with a LO but I wouldn't trade it for anything! I'd say hiking in the mountains is at the top of the list. We'd spontaneously drive 2+ hours each way to go hiking just for the day, I don't see that happening for quite a while now. This spring we're going to attempt hiking in the mountains with LO but it will entail us to get a cabin to stay for the weekend, which I dont mind too much .

I was debating about taking LO hiking. I just didn't know if I should let her hold hands and walk, stroller or attempt to use the Ergo

I used to go to the gym, read books, stay up past 9:30 and go out to dinner and drink all the wine

We will probably use our hiking back pack carrier that someone gave us. We have used it several times especially this past fall on some local trails and LO loves it. I'm guessing she'll want to try and walk some which I'm ok with as long as its a pretty flat part of the trail and holds hands. You could do any of the things you mentioned, stroller could be hit or miss depending on the trail you hike though. The Ergo is easy enough to either stuff in a backpack or just wear it without LO in it if you decide to let your LO walk some. It'll be so much fun to see the LOs out there!

lilqt3929 that's good to know about the backpack carrier. We haven't tried ours out yet. Maybe soon
I have used the stroller and didn't like it. The Ergo was fine but I get tired if I carry him too long.

I probably should try to have LO in the ergo before attempting a hike. She hasn't been in it for several months now.

I realized this while driving alone sans LO. I also miss music. I used to go to concerts and find new bands online.
I don't do any of that now. Heck, I barely listen to the music on my phone unless it's LO playlist

We still mainly do the same things, it just takes more planning and preparation than it used to. I guess we haven't been to the movies since DD was born, but I generally prefer to watch them in the comfort of home anyway.
I have taken DD hiking, but it is more work and I have to stick with shorter ones so she doesn't get bored. I guess I miss being able to spontaneously schedule a hair appointment or massage on my day off without having to worry about childcare, but other than that, I don't feel like I have given up much. I guess we were already boring, lol!

We didn't go to that many movies, but I miss being able to go to one easily when there is something I want to see. I also really miss lazy Sunday mornings.

We didn't really do to much before. So I just miss being able to be lazy, I can't lay around she always wants something. Sleeping in too. And being able to just run in and out a store, it's a whole processes getting them in and out.

All of this for us too. DH and I have always been homebodies but it was much easier for us to "plan" to do daily tasks and day trips, etc.
