"Thanks for putting up with me" gift

I know we had a thread similar to this regarding push presents, but I was curious if and what you plan on getting your SO near delivery for "putting up with you"?

MH has been especially wonderful most of the time, and I'm trying to figure out a material way to represent that gratitude when the big day is finally here. I'd love some ideas if any of you have them!

I guess it depends what your budget is. You can do something like a nice watch, a new wallet or maybe tickets to a sporting event. Once upon a time I gave my DH homemade coupons for a back rub, dinner (I never cook) and a couple of BJ's. He said it was the best gift I ever gave him, and it didn't cost me a penny!

I wasn't planning on getting him a "push present" other than a daddy backpack... is that bad?

I got my husband a Coach camo print diaper bag because his worst nightmare is taking baby girl out and having to use all my hot pink girlie stuff lol I filled it up with "cool dad" stuff to replace all the pink we registered for

@littlebee, totally not bad at all... I think it's a great idea to get him a daddy bag... I was trying to think of something for him that relates to the baby, so that's actually a really good idea.

pbubblegum, MH is pretty difficult to buy for as well. And I feel like I've been more BSC than not for the past 24 weeks. I feel awful but he just keeps on being him. But then I'll be sincere and thank him for being so awesome and he'll be like "that's cool". He has no idea when to be sincere lol

I'll have to check out some 'manly' dad bags...

@pcrunk I'm a gifter too, I love to celebrate every little thing. I already tell him pretty much every second how much I love and appreciate him (except for when I'm being psychotic) so I definitely want to do a little extra something. Maybe I'll make him ribs for dinner (May is a good time for that, definitely NOT any time soon after baby arrives) as a special thanks.

Whenever I ask DH what he wants for holidays and such he always says "Nothing. Just save the money." But the thing that kills me is that he LOVES buying presents. He'll agonize over a purchase for himself for months and months but I casually mention that I like something and he gets it. I'm due June 9 and his birthday is June 8 so I really need to get him something but he's just impossible to shop for!

@s.coffey1123 I like your idea. He's fixing up an old car now and he always talks about making the garage really nice so maybe a nice painting for the garage.

I had DD#2 the day before mothers day.  He didn't get me anything for mothers day, he said the baby was my present.

Yep. Mine is getting a baby as a thank you gift. But for father's day he's getting a big screen TV for the basement.

Yup. And the father's day gift is still up in the air. Most likely, he'll get a couple cards from me and the kiddos, and a special coloring from DD

I don't know what your comfort level with "forbidden" foods is, but Jersey Mike's slices their meat to order, so there is much less of a chance of listeria contamination, since such a small surface area is exposed to air.  They are one of the only places I will eat a cold sub from!

I honestly don't think I have acted much differently while pregnant than I do at any other point and I don't think he has had to "put up" with much. I don't expect a push present and he won't be getting anything either, except of course an adorable baby girl!

DH has been talking about wanting new golf clubs since I've known him but never buys them. Even with bonuses, birthday $ from family etc because he always says we need to save it or spend it on something else more practical, so as a thank you/first Father's Day gift I'm going to get him a gift certificate to get them. That way he has to do it!

I am in the whole 'he is getting a baby' camp. He has been awesome through the pregnancy and I tell him often how grateful I am and show him I appreciate him. Besides, MH is one of those who is a huge baby when he is sick and I take care of him. Sure, it isn't as long as a pregnancy but it happens more often! We take care of each other. I will get him something for Father's Day. Not sure what yet.

He's getting a baby. I have not been that difficult, either. He's had to step it up with chores a bit and hold my hair back while puking at 2 AM, but that's nothing.

I might get him something for Father's Day, which will be before when she's due. We're going to a Pirates game for mother's day this year!

I'm also in the "he's getting a baby" camp, and that applies to me when it comes to a push present.

However, my due date is June 21, which is also father's day. So, I'll probably get him something small for that. Not sure what though, since I don't want to get him something specific to a first father's day if the baby isn't born yet. I still have time :-)
