Ok ladies- my work just called me and told me the salon profit was so large last year that I won a free cruise! Yay! The problem is it's the week of my husbands launch at work so he can't go, so I'm taking my sister.... And the baby! The cruise is in May and we are going to st martins at him as and Bahamas. I am having some craaaazy anxiety about flying with LO and cruising with her as well. ( I have never been on a cruise)
Where the hell do I even begin?! She's still on alimentum and solids do I pack them for carry on or check them? Also it's super hot down there, does that effect the pre made formula? Do I pack her pack n play, stroller, I'm losing my miiiiiiiindddd.
Thats awesome that you won a cruise! Congrats! Id call the cruise company and see if they have cribs, so you dont have to bring your PNP. Id make a list of things that might be helpful for mini emergencies (tylenol/motrin, benadryl, snot sucker). Target has the cutest baby bathing suits too! And dont forget the sunscreen!
Not sure if it can do anything to premade formula. Id call the 1800 number on the formula and ask them if there are any risks. Could you do powdered? I think the single serving packets might be easy with bottled water.
No, you're not crazy. DH and I are also probably going to do a Caribbean cruise in May with LO. (And with taking along my parents. Mwaahaahaa.)
What cruise line is it on? You can find lots of info about the cruise lines and what amenities they have available for LOs. Many of them have umbrella strollers you can rent for the duration of teh cruise. Some (Royal Caribbean on some of their vessels) offer childcare for babies. Not all cruise lines do, however. We're going to do Carnival, and will probably alternate doing excursions with my parents so someone can always stay with LO.
From what I've read online, some of the ships offer babytime play groups as well on some sea days and in some ports.
Here's an overview to start you off, there's more you can find out there with google as well.
You will have a great time! Second what others have said about checking with the cruise line about stuff for LO - especially for sleeping. On the cruises I've been on, there was definitely not space for a PnP in the room. They are SMALL.
We are going on a Norwegian cruise and they do have cribs so I requested one. The little things I'm worrying about it when you get off the plane you need to catch a cab to the boat but I won't have her car seat?!
Oh, as far as rooms go for Oceanview or Balcony, if you can do any sort of room upgrade. I know on Carnival the square footage of the Oceanview is larger than the balcony. Well, I mean the part you'd actually be in...the balcony does give some nice extra space but not for you or your baby for sleeping! You should be able to find out the size of the rooms on the NCL site.
My DH wants a balcony, but I think an Oceanview would be better for us. Gotta try to convince him.

Can you just bring her car seat with you? You can gate check it.
